What a great place this is for people to gather and support each other in an extremely athletic sport. Wish I could say the say for the customer service of the Membership team!

Definitely the best gym south side. Friendly people and staff are awesome. Route setters are putting in great variety, love it

Boulder Lab has so many walls to choose from, I've visited twice and still haven't managed to get through all the walls in my grade, in one session! The Climbs are challenging and puzzling but accommodate climbers of all grades. The venue is clean and modern, making it a very inviting environment. I recommend checking upstairs for something different. Will absolutely be coming back. The staff are friendly and welcoming, new climbers will feel very comfortable here.

A waste of money, time & petrol.

Drove to Clayton with an 11yo, first visit. It wasn't busy, yet still waited until anybody approached us to explain the process.

The website indicates $12 entry for the under 12's kids section; $4 for kids shoe hire. For some reason, the person at the register charged us $18 instead of $16.
Didn't intend to argue over $2, but either the pricelist on the website needs to be updated, or the person at the register made a mistake.

One staff member showed the child quickly how to fall, & that was the end of their involvement. Nobody even showed us where the toilets or other facilities are.

We stayed for about 10-15 minutes & left.
Does a child really need an "all day pass" for a trial of a new place? Perhaps a cheaper, shorter, trial pass can be made available for those who aren't sure what to expect?

Nobody was even at the counter to say "goodbye". Quick to take your money, but barely any customer service. A bizarre experience all around.
Won't be back in a hurry.

Had a great time here. We went on a Saturday night. It was open late and it wasn't too busy either. It has a really great range of climbs with plenty of variation in difficulty. It also features a nice little cafe and pizzas.

Have been climbing for a long time and have been going here for almost a year and haven’t ever had a bad thing to say about it. This is my absolute favourite bouldering gym i’ve ever been to!

Everyone i’ve met there is great, the staff is super helpful and friendly which makes for a great vibe whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced, plus really well set climbs and clear grading for all those skill levels! It’s also huge and there are regular resets so you’ll never get bored!

Super reasonable pricing and they have everything you need from food to coffee to power aid to climbing shoes, chalk, chalk bags and even hang boards

Can’t forget, also really dog friendly! My goofy greyhound and I couldn’t recommend this place more! ️

Awesome place. Great induction video following the QR code down below includes the waiver form too that you gotta do before you climb if it's your first time. Nice climbs. Great facilities and super clean. Amazing price too for single day pass $20. Even has a gym and a cafe, they serve food at a pretty decent price but I'm not sure about how they taste. Coffee is sold too.

Love the gym. It's like a bigger version of ferntree gully. The gym is clean and the staff are really kind and helpful. The setting is super fun and playful and is very intended for comp climbing. The gym facilities are perfect for training climbing and a bit of cardio. I would totally make the trek down to Clayton again for a climb it was really worth it.

Straight to it: great venue for some climbs. Very open and spacious. On hot days it's still pretty good and bearable inside with good air flow. Friendly staff and always happy to help.
Coffee can sometimes be a bit burny G, but you're not here for the coffee. Decent parking with street parking around the corner.

*EDIT* Fresh carpet for 2023

I have been climbing here for over one month now and it is my favourite place to climb, staff are super lovely and approachable. Have even made friends with other climbers!

They update the walls regularly that every week I feel like there’s something new to tackle but also something I can still continue to try and conquer! Always look forward to coming for my weekly climb:)

The grading by number system means better diversity for climbs per level; really great gym

Best climbing gym in Melbourne so far!
Staff are always friendly, great atmosphere.
Dog friendly
Aircon and tunes always blasting.
Equipment, food, hot/cold drinks available at the counter.
Bathrooms are spacious and always very clean.
Parking available but very limited.

There's a mini boulder room for 12- with actual boulders not just ladder type climbs.
Downstairs big bouldering room with plenty of floor space so you don't get crowded around, great variety of holds and climb styles with regular resets.
Upstairs cave boulders and training boulders are always so much fun. Great use of space.
Unfortunately the Kilterboard angle doesn't change which is pretty sad. I would spend a lot more time on that if it worked.
Weights training room covers a large selection of equipment but gets HOTT, it definitely needs fans of aircon in there.
All in all, Great gym I love it.

Great for beginners. It was really fun, safety fall test was helpful. Lots of different levels from beginner to more challenging ones. Great bouldering place in Melbourne!

Great bouldering gym with a large downstairs area and smaller upstairs area.
Very spacious.
As a beginner it was very welcoming, staff are friendly, members are encouraging and well mannered and the routes are fun.
Kid friendly routes too which is nice for the young ones.
There is also a small gym in the corner with squat racks and bench. Good amount of dumbells too.

I really think this is the best climbing gym in Melbourne. I love Lactic Factory so much, but Boulder Lab has so much variety. The setting is fantastic and the vibe super chilled.
