Bornga Melbourne City Chinatown reviews
80All the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is good. However, there is no set menu, so the price is a bit expensive, so I wish there was a set menu. The cold noodles are a bit bad. This is the first time in Australia that two people have spent more than $200 on a BBQ. I don't know if it was just the day I visited, but there seemed to be almost no Korean customers. Perhaps because of the price, I think I should eat at a cheaper BBQ restaurant. Intention to revisit.doesn't exist. If you don't make a reservation, the wait will be long, so we recommend making a reservation even on weekdays.
Easily one of the best kbbq I've had so far in Melbourne. The service is nice and quick. And the sidedish refill is great. The staffs are friendly and the atmosphere is great too.
While I did get a walk in table I would highly recommend booking a table, cause they seem to be very busy (and popular).
Bornga has become one of the most popular Korean BBQ restaurants in Melbourne CBD thanks to its authentic food and the beautiful decoration. Having the cold noodles after a feast of grilled meat is always a delight. It’s always packed to make sure you make a booking in advance.
Food is a lot worse than average at this price point. There is no service except for rushing you pay the bill and leave. 4.5 points for this kind of shop? Someone else said it was cheap? Taste dementia after staying in Australia for a long time? Wouldn’t it be nice to go to the Korean buffet on King st for the price of a plate of meat here?
Great place to experience Korean BBQ. Very clean and everything moves very fast. 100% Korean way - polite, tidy, fast & delicious food. Thank you
The best Korean BBQ I have tried in Melbourne. The food is delicious and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Highly recommended this place!
A bustling Korean BBQ restaurant with quality meat, generous banchan and efficient service.
I am not a huge meat eater but there is a single reason that I go for Korean BBQ. The Banchan - the numerous sides dishes that are served - kimchi, shredded spring onions, radish, tofu, mashed potato etc. It is simply food magic watching your table filled up with these small plates of food - whets the appetite. And my preferred Korean BBQ restaurant is Bornga - for its generous platter of leafy greens. I love wrapping up the charcoal flavoured meat in leafy greens, topped with the pickles and condiments. Delicious.
The service in Bornga is efficient and attentive - they will topped up the Banchan, change the grill plate, and removed the charcoal burner promptly.
Love this place - they make great side dishes. Our favourite is the seafood jeon and japchae. Plenty of salad and kimchi as sides as well, which make for an overall very enjoyable Korean BBQ experience.
Favourite kbbq place! We will travel to cbd just to eat here. So good! Staff are so welcoming and provide quick service.
One of the best korean bbq in town thats for sure! Staffs are friendly and their samgyeop is to die for! Heaps of different side dishes and all tasted amazing especially the salad! Great job!
Food was good as always, yet, the service was not that great this time. Female staff members were a bit abrasive - to the point where my company and I felt uncomfortable. I come to Bornga at least once a week. Yesterday's service didn't meet my expectations.
Delicious barbecue. We tried the marinated beef ribs, pork belly and sliced beef. Great banchan (side dishes) and quick service
Wow factor and the best for me is the mashed potato which I first tasted in a Korean resto in LA. I craved for the Japchae the next day. Went to a nearby Korean resto, not happy, wanted to visit Bornga again after we ate.
I was impressed by the quality of the food here, and really enjoyed the spacious dining room, as well as the drinks menu.
It can be a little confusing working out what to order if you haven’t eaten kbbq before, but it is well worth giving this place a try as it is not too pricey. You can’t go wrong with any of their options.
I make a reservation for two online and they cancel it a week later. Every. Single. Time. Seriously, spare yourself the aggravation and don't bother.
The kbbq here amazing… especially love the ox tongue and the beef and pork is very flavourful as well…
Really nice experience here. We had booked a table and there was little to no wait. Definitely recommend that you book here as it is very popular indeed. The layout is good and it is large, modern and well decorated. Service is friendly and fast. The prices are moderate but I think reasonable for what you get
Food was amazing and service was top notch! The staff were the most attentive I’ve ever experienced in Melbourne’s kbbq!
Area was nice and spacious too.
The front desk staff are absolute terrible customer service! Do not have empathy at all! Came 1 minute late to our reservastion as we had to wait behind other people to be served and our spot was given away! They had asked us to wait 1.5 hours just for a table! There was only 2 of us. Terrible.dont come here unless you want to be dissapointed.
Food was great! However, felt a bit confused as it was our first time dining and didn’t know which meat to cook on which plate. So got told off for cooking the fatty meat on the wrong grill. Would’ve been a much better experience if food and how-to was explained properly. Food was really good, so will definitely be back!
