Born & Bread Bakehouse reviews
60 Lack of variety really lets this groovy little bakery down. No menu or signage on any products leaves you feeling as though your window shopping
Beautiful croissant’s in the windows but no option to add any fillings and or toast them. Means it’s not an option to get any food takeaway and eat it on the run. In today’s day and age, who really is organised enough to go out and purchase baked goods, then return home to add toppings/fillings to make it an edible meal.
Not to mention the “packo tax” included in the price of everything
If I lived beside it, I'd contract diabetes in a day
Get the cinnamon peacon rolls and the almond croissants. The loaves are really good too. Tried the lemon cake but it was a bit too sweet, might stick with the other options in future.
Hands down the best bakery in Geelong, there is no competition.
The sourdough is amazing and the workmenship and attention to detail really stands out.
My favourite is the Pecan sticky bun and the kids love the croissants and muffins, a must try if you're ever in the area
Amazing coffee and bread/pastries got to get in early though as they sell out quickly in the morning!
All I can say is this place deserves its reputation. The occasional weekend treat of a strong coffee and a pastry goes down a treat. If they weren't so busy I'd consider stopping by more often for bread and such, be prepared to wait in line!
Yum. My treat every time I visit my nearby hairdresser. Staff were very attentive and patient while I deliberated over the sandwiches, even though it was busy lunch hour. Never misses a beat.
Our Sunday morning ritual is todrive to Born, grab coffees, croissants and pretzels and drive home to share. We live in North Geelong and make the drive to the river end of Pakington every week for this amazing food. Says it all really.
After three years of wearing braces, I wanted nothing more than to chomp into some fresh, crusty bread, so I came here (my ortho had mentioned it as she was removing the metal.thanks, Clara). And, folks, I was not disappointed! My recently freed teeth thoroughly enjoyed the Rye Spelt. I wanted to buy more, so much more -and I will! - but I kept to my humble goal of fresh, crusty bread. My eye and camera definitely loved the other breads, and the pastries and sweet ones. By the way, I got a coffee too. And it has to be said: The flat white I ordered turned out to be.a flat white; unbeluevably, other places cannot, will not do this (youll likely get a froffy latte). Wild, hey. The place was busy but orderly and staff were efficient and calm. All great signs that Born & Bread is managed well. Spoiler alert: that loaf of Rye Spelt was finished by the end of the day!
Great place to walk to if youre getting your car serviced near by.
The eclairs are french style and actually have custard in them not cream!
There is a few little spots to sit along the window to dine in and enjoy a pastry and coffee. Friendly customer service and place is clean and the displays look fantastic.
Absolutely divine artisan bakery, the range of baked goods is expansive.
Everything done perfectly, pastries, coffee, friendly vibes!
Highly recommended.
Comparatively expensive products. But always come out happy.
Staff are a little preoccupied and don’t have much time for idle chit chat.
Amazing find.loved everything I had. You can tell they know what they're doing, and they do it w love!
We love this bakery! Our young family of four visit Born & Bread often. Nice little outing on a Saturday morning. We walk down from home, grab coffee and a few treats then continue on down to the river. Coffee is some of the best in Geelong and the pastries and breads are out of this world.
Just yum! Best bakery in Geelong hands down. I have to restrain myself from buying a croissant every time I drive past, they are too delicious! Great sambos for a quick lunch on the go and lovely staff.
The lemon meringue is to die for! I have tried nearly everything they have to offer and not had a single bad experience. Everything is delicious.
Fantastic sweet treats and amazing coffee. I took a bite before grabbing a photo, turns out that was a mistake because I didn't stop eating until it was gone.
Fantastic staff, always served with a smile! The potato focaccia is my favourite- a must try! Could not recommend a place more!
Simply epic, favourites: the potato bread, the galettes, savoury ham/mustard/cheese escargot, the toffied pecan delight, the lemon drizzle cake. You really can’t go wrong.
I love it! I ordered a pastry and it was supreme this place is a must for breads and pastries. Definitely coming back!
A gallette (probably mispelt) right at the end of service but staff welcoming and kind. Great stuff there too.
Brioche loaf went down a treat
