Lovely little cookbook store. Can find exotic and vintage cookbooks. If you're looking for the latest celebrity chef cookbooks though you might want to head down to a commercial bookshop. They also ship worldwide and are online. Just pop in and take a look - you won't regret if you're a cookbook buff.

A bunch of different books - used and new. Most of the books you can find on Amazon but a great spot to browse and get some inspiration. A few of the books were also signed by the author Chefs.

Definitely the best foodie bookshop in the Southern Hemisphere. No matter what your taste (sorry for the pun), it's here, along with a vast selection of books of the devil's drink in all its glorious forms, also lots of food related travel, biographies and just about anything related to sitting around a table, sharing food, drink and good company.

For those of you who love reading books and cooking, here is a company I can recommend.

Books for Cooks: new and old books about wine, food and the culinary arts - run by the formidable pairing of Tim and Amanda. Some of you may remember their shop used to be in Fitzroy, but from 2018 moved to their current location.

They are situated in Queen Victoria Market 115-121 Victoria St and currently, orders through their website pick up or delivery. *They have free delivery if you are in their 5km lockdown radius and not only that - they hand-deliver their order. Mine, delivered in COVID-19 safe packaging came on a Saturday evening - now that is dedication. Thank you.

I ordered: Melanie Dunea's - 'My Last Supper - the next course', which I have wanted for a while as it delves into what famous Chefs would eat and so forth for their last meal. Plus one recipe and great profile photos of each Chef taken by Melanie, a professional Photographer.

Drop into these guys once we are out of lockdown or hop online and see what gems you can find! Something for everyone.

Excellent selection of books, historic, iconic, current, trending, etc. They've got it all. The service is superb and totally passionate. They're happy to let you browse on your own, or will fill you with knowledge, inspiration & ideas if you let them! Please support this lovely local independent!

Interesting store with incredibly knowledgeable staff - who are only willing to help if you buy something from them. I was scolded for looking up a book recommendation on Amazon after (1) they did not stock it and (2) he knew I lived in the UK and flying with cookbooks is hard!

Time to acknowledge the reality of owning a bookstore in 2019! And, if you genuinely share your passions with others, they'll be willing to support you back.

I love Books for Cooks so much! If you have an interest in cooking or food or if you work in the industry, Books for Cooks is somewhere you must visit. Old books, new books, journals, technical books, beautiful home baking books, all the books. Take some time, visit the market, visit Tim and Amanda, get some great recommendations, take a break, get a coffee at market lane, come back, buy that one you can’t resist, get a great gift for your friend who loves food. It’s a must for chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, wine buffs, wine lovers, FOH, friends of the above, lovers of books and book shops. I know this review is rather gushing, however I’m a confessed cook book addict, bakery owner, food lover, baker and pastry chef. It’s a special place to me. Do visit.

This place is an absolute trap if you love cookbooks. There are new and second-hand books as well as an extensive collection of food related historical pamphlets. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable. The ambience is like an Oxford dons private library.

Good books, staff aren't very friendly until they realise that your walking to the counter to buy something then they wanna chat and help.

I love bookshops and I love cooking. What a combination.
Wide array of books, from belly published to antiqUe books. You can spend a while reading or looking at the books, but then you should obviously buy it out you want it. It can take a while to find the books you might want on your own volition but there is order once you work out.

Their selection of wine books was wide, I found some really esoteric books which I do not think you could find anywhere else. Service was helpful and enjoyable.
