Peter is so friendly, I’m not a local but watched him greet all the people he knew, and welcome them in, and create such a lovely friendly atmosphere. Delicious Indonesian soup and iced coffee.

Amazing little restaurant/cafe, went for brunch today & we definitely were surprised as it wasn’t what we were expecting but was fantastic! Friendly owner, greeted us immediately with a smile & so helpful.
Great food, coffee & milkshakes ️
Owner apologised for no EFTPOS but immediately offered & encouraged us to write down our owings & fix him up the next time we were in town. (Housemate had cash so obviously paid) but that was such a lovely gesture.

This cafe lives up to its high rating. It was so refreshing to have Indonesian elements on the menu. My husband and I were very happy with our selections: the lamb curry and an Indonesian fried chicken dish. The interior has been tastefully decorated, with the owner having had work done to expose the historic bluestone walls (hence the name of the cafe). Best of all, the owner was so friendly and kept us entertained with his travel stories.

Awesome and amazing place! Owner was so nice, we didn't have cash so he told us pay me next time you are in Ballarat. I went to the ATM and came back the next day! He also gave us free chocolate, and made a home made bottle of sambal to collect on Friday!

An inspiring, delightful cafe. Stop by a bit late for lunch and had the beef stir fry. Immediately got the friendly welcome and assisted for seating. Timing for the menu to come out was perfect, not late but also not rushed as they wanted us to order asap. Lemon infused water came out without being asked. Specials of the day, run out dishes are informed right after. I was not asked whether I'm ready to order but he knew I was ready to order. He had eye contact every now and then while serving other customers. Same level of attention was given to others. Including phone service, pre-order, warmer seating, vegetarion menu, refill or coffee, plus just the right amount of chat with customer. Food came out around 10 minutes, perfect! The food size is surprisingly satisfying. Not big like you're a hungry customer, not small like you do not pay. Take it slow and embrace the simple and beauty in life. The Indonesia style cooking is well represented with the right white rice quality and a great sambal. Indonesia has a very wide range of sambal, this one is not too spicy (caution for those who are not used to, this may be very spicy for you) but they can adjust to your liking. Ask for mild if you're not used to. I was impressed that the door was held for a take away customer and was assisted to their car right in front of the cafe. Definitely revisit this cafe next time around. Highly recommended! Pardon if the photo was imperfect but hope it's honest and helpful.

Excellent food and coffee! Friendly, quick service and Authentic Indonesian food freshly cooked on the premises. Small but cosy café run by a husband and wife team, plenty of room and good for meeting up with friends like we did as you can talk without shouting to be heard. Will definitely be back!

Just had the best meal here, always drive past this cafe as we live just down the road but first time here. We ordered the nasi goreng, Soto Ayam, chai latte and New York cheesecake. Right off the bat, the cafe is so cute and the owner is so lovely. There was a lovely gentleman playing acoustic guitar and singing beautiful songs like Hallelujah, Jolene, Can't help falling in love. So sweet. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic, the homemade sambal was to die for! The owner asked what temperature we would like the latte, such attention to detail. It tasted fantastic. He also gave us extra ice cream and strawberries with our cheesecake. They only take cash so make sure to bring cash! New favourite place in ballarat, make sure to visit if you're here! Will visit again often, love this place.
