5A nice cherry farm. 15 $ a kilo for take away, I think it is a bargain.
We've visited Blue hills 3 times (over the last 3 years) and it's been consistently great.
Cherries are ripe and juicy, there is plenty of carparking and places to setup a picnic blanket in the shade.
They have a set number of people in at any one time, so it doesn't feel rushed or crowded.
Went there on last weekend as we mistake this to other farm where we don't have to book ticket online. Was asked to book ticket online and it was bit of confusion for to book as it is not straight forward (I like to work in big screen that in phone). We have to booked in 2 pm session and was told to wait and someone will let us know but we saw other people going straight forward so I asked again to the guy and he said we can go in. So lack of good communication with staff, I suppose. Staff were good but think they were stressed out saying the same thing to all customer who bump up without online booking.
Cherries were good and juicy wish I have got small ladder to get the one that's on top and may be camping chair to relax and eat that you have collected in your bucket. Guess for excess cherries, it was 12 dollar a kilo.
There was one permanent toilet and 2 portable toilet at site nearby where the booking booth was. Also a tap to wash you hand. No water or toilet where the farm is.
Not was as I have expected in farm but may be I have high expectation. It was our first farm visit. Will see other farm in coming days and see if I need to review this post again. Thank you.
Cherries were delicious, and there is plenty of parking. The staff were attentive and personally briefed every visitor entering the farm. Entry fee is a little higher than other farms ($14) but you are invited to eat as much as you like straight from the tree.
