Strongly recommend chicken fillet on rice with creamy mushroom sauce, salt and pepper fried chicken

Support Taiwanese food! But mixed with Hong Kong style food!
Taiwanese food that doesn’t feel so local
I feel like my soul is missing a bit
Service and atmosphere are very good

Speechless to comment,
Stinky tofu is really rubbish, 4 pieces of tofu and a little kimchi cost 13.8.
It doesn't matter if it tastes good, but the key point is that it doesn't taste good. It tastes salty and smells like stinky tofu? My feet stink worse than yours

Deep fried chicken doesn't look or taste like deep fried. You can see from my photo that it'a more like poached or boiled. The whole dish is really bad as well. Sauce is bland. "Side dishes" for the so-called bento are just a few tiny pieces of boiled/steamed broccoli and carrots. So disappointed! Definitely not worth $16+.

Edit: Thank you for your prompt response. I ordered Taiwanese bento no 3 and it definitely says "Deep fry chicken fillet". I remember asking your staff which one would she recommend (showing her the menu) : coriander, garlic or black pepper sauce. There is no coriander sauce from the hongkong section. And her response to my question for recommendation was "I don't know" and a shrug. So I chose black pepper while pointing at the menu for her, again.
Last night around 9: 30pm, takeaway. No tax invoice given.

Visited this place for the 2nd time. It is located at a convenient location, next to the Aldi supermarket. My visit was on the first day of the lunar new year (rabbit year) at noon and the restaurant was not busy like last time. The atmosphere was good, I enjoyed the background jazz music. Food wise, this place sells Hong Kong and Taiwanese foods (香港茶餐廳 和 台灣小食), I ordered a big intestine rice noodles (大腸麵線), salted and pepper chicken (鹽酥雞) and a milk tea. I'm satisfied with all these items. Would come back again in the future.

Although the deep-fried tofu was delicious, the sweet chilli sauce wasn't authentic. Garlic sauce is typically served with fried tofu from Taiwan. Presented in a different way.

Vermicelli soup with chitterlings is my favourite, and it tastes even better with oysters!

Considering that it wasn't from a tea store, milk tea and green tea was alright. I may have had higher expectations after reading all the positive reviews, but after tasting everything, I think it’s just mediocre.

Service was excellent. The staff was courteous and supportive.

The fried chicken bites were delicious.

Food is good but the fried chicken is a little bit too salty, but still appreciated that it is freshly fried. Great value for money.

The restaurant is really elegant and comfortable but I actually wondered if I went to the wrong place when I was at the door because it does not look like a place with Hong Kong tea restaurant or Taiwanese food.

The top sign is in English and if I have the chance to guess 100 times what kind of food that is served there I would never think curry fish ball or Hong Kong French toast is one of the options lol. Anyway it is really one of the most elegant (or 文青 in Chinese) tea restaurant I have ever been to.

Cozy little space, good service from Nie Yong!
We had the plum fried fish cake which was QQ & deep fried tofu with their signature garlic sauce, lovely starters!
I had the Fried chicken leg Taiwanese Bento box. One of the item in the box that was surprisingly good was a taiwanese arancini: braised minced pork with rice. The fried chicken leg was seasoned nicely, chicken skin was crispy and juicy!
The baked riced pork filet was so so. The pork filet was cooked well, but the cheese on the baked rice was measly.
The meal ended nicely with an interesting dessert: fried taro balls with molten salted egg custard. It was da bomb! My partner who do not like taro, took to it very well!
Definitely will return again!

Delicious authentic Taiwanese food, really loved the set meals (Main, snack and drink), great value for money, the braised pork rice was really tasty. Excellent service, the felt very welcomed. All the food came in a timely manner. Make sure to book or come in early as the dining space is limited.

The best stinky tofu I’ve found in Melbourne. It has amazing flavour (even without the coriander sauce) and comes with a heaping pile of pickled cabbage. Wish it came as part of the meal set but would definitely order it as-is again.

Best Lu Rou Fan in town. Simple with high quality short-grain rice. Taiwanese youth cafe vibe.
Nice deep fried chicken (not too overpowering).
Insane deep-fried toast (with peanut butter filling, french toast coating and golden syrup) that matches perfectly with the milk tea.
Not too crazy about the beef noodle, which could be very good if it had handmade noodle.

One of the best Taiwanese/HK restaurants in Melbourne south east area. Definitely the best in box hill and surrounding suburbs. Much better than the one on Waverly Road.

Ordered the combo with pork intestines vermicelli, fried bean curd and milk tea. Vermicelli had 4 tiny pieces of pork intestines. Soup didn’t have much taste. Fried bean curd was average. Milk tea didn’t have much flavor. Small servings, still hungry after the meal!

This Taiwanese restaurant serves a few traditional Taiwanese dishes that you don't get from many other restaurants in Melbourne. However lots of them either got sold out early or needing to wait a long time for them to be cooked. Just hope they up their SOP and run this restaurant better. Otherwise a good place to try out!

Looking for that infamous Taiwanese fried chicken? This little cafe is the answer to your craving. A true Taiwanese gem in the middle of Box Hill South.

Tastes like home. Very tasty traditional Taiwanese foods. Their milk teas also taste very nice. They cook their own tea; don’t use powder so it’s very authentic.

Genuine Taiwanese bubble tea and more natural tea shop. Offering lots of Taiwanese and Hongkong food.
Best Parking option is Aldi in the back.

Taiwanese beef noodles is very nice, noodles texture is good, soup is nice. The smelly tofu is very crispy. HK and Taiwanese milk teas are very good.

The popcorn chicken and fried fish cake are horrible, they are so dry and old. Sticky tofu is OK, the sauce def helps a lot. Braised pork rice is terrible, too salty and tastes like can food. Will not go back.
