Black Dog Brewery reviews
12Went out there on Monday lunch time at about 12.20. It was a 30 minute diversion from my trip. I walked in waited for 2 mins then started to call out. After 5 minutes I started loudly shouting. Noone came. There was a Ute parked by the shed but I called in there but nothing. There is a sign asking to call a number for service. 3 calls unanswered or straight to voicemail. I understand from the comments this is a regular occurrence. Luckily I was an honest person because you could easily walk out with crates of drink unstopped.
Excellent cellar door set up from family owned and run vineyard and brewery. Had great chat over beer tasting and the beers were really good too. Big fan of the 'lazy dog'. Bought a mixed slab to take away and have vowed to return!
Good place to try and buy wines and maybe try a few beers with the tasting paddle reasonable priced. Just a little bit far out of Wangaratta. Maybe a 15 minute drive
Drove out there on Saturday, at 1pm, sign said it was open, but no one was there, so walked around and called out in their shed, nothing, rang the phone number, no answer, tooted the car horn, still nothing. Total waste of time going out there, and the road on their property, well let say, not the best unless you miss all the soft muddy bits. Don't waste your time going out there.
Travelled out there with a group of friends from the NT. Cellar door was open, no one was around. Waited for 15 to 20min then left, absolute waste of time, will never go back down those roads for non service. Could have just walked out with a heap of bottles. Very disappointing. Attended just after lunch on the 5th Feb 2022
Outstanding milk dog hazy pale. Has a soft creamy mouth feel which keeps on coming. The hops have a bit of fruit which are balanced. Not a serious beer for the beer nazis, but a outstanding beer for a fun afternoon. 10/10
Great beer and wonderful people. The wines are good too, keep the Mrs happy Shout out to Pete on the John Deere! Showing the young fellas how its done.
A place worth visiting. Great experience, selection of beers and wines. A place to catch up with friends and family if you want to go off the road.
An undiscovered gem! Beautiful beers, great service. If you get a chance to try their beers don't pass it up.
Look no further than this little brewery/vineyard for the epitome of charm. A heart-and-soul kind of place producing in-house, quality craft beers and wines with possibly the best muscat in Australia, nay, the world.
If you're still not convinced, there's a really cute dog?
Great old building made from rocks on the property in the early 1900’s. The owner tells some great stories about the history of the property and brewery.
Good selection of beers in a very nice setting and check out the old barrels in the main hall.
Just watch out for Ned Kelly photobombing your pictures!
Little gem tucked away at the end of a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Some of the best beer I've drunk anywhere.including Belgium. The brewer is happy to share advice and tips about beer making. Can't give them a big enough wrap. Well worth the trip.
