Bistro Terroir reviews
21My friends and I attended Bistro Terroir in the run up to Christmas late last year. I was served the lamb and it was delicious (size was leaning towards small for my preference, but maybe I was just desperate for more ;). Would recommend.
Great dinner tonight for our wedding anniversary. The service was very nice and food was great. Thank you for going above and beyond for our anniversary.
Just WOW! Amazing fine dining French restaurant in the centre of Daylesford. Many awards are testament to incredible food and really good service. A stand out for all of Victoria
If you are in Daylesford you must check this place out!
You can't lose when it comes to classic French but the service here takes your whole experience to the next level.
You are greeted with warmth and you have your first drink order in before your bum even hits the chair.
The chef brings out your entree personally and you can tell he is so proud of his work (as he should be!)
Shout out to our server Mary, absolute sweetheart and knows the exact line of amazing attentive service and leaving you to your intimate privacy. You really can't teach this she was amazing!
The most delicious sourdough bread with whipped butter and flaky salt keeps coming until you refuse it.
Amazing wine and cocktails, and the food was devine.
Will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area!
Bistro Terroir is on the more formal end of the eating place spectrum being closer to a full restaurant than a bistro. We started with champagne and oysters and followed that up with excellent smoked salmon (although I don't understand the need that chefs have to decorate these dishes with dill fronds). My partner then had the blue cheese fondant which although only entree size was rich and filling. I have the barramundi 'a la Provincial' which was very well cooked. The only criticism I had was that I would have referred the potatoes a touch more cooked. The olives were excellent and I had a little bread left to soak up the juice. We had a side of asparagus which finished us off for the meal.
Food was lovely. We had the duck and steak frites and everything was so yum. The waiter was very warm and recommended a really delicious bottle of red to complement our meals.
Our dinner at Bistro Terroir was fabulous! It was our first visit to your restaurant and we had a beautiful dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the wine was fabulous, the ambience was perfect, and the service was awesome. We hope to return someday.
Couldn’t fault it. Food and service were incredible. Not too busy for a Saturday night which was surprising. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
I found it very reassuring that the staff noted I had marked down in my booking that I was pregnant, and talked me through what I could eat and reassured me that everything in my meals was cooked through each time they brought something to the table and separated out sauces they thought I might want to avoid. I have never seen this much attention to detail in a restaurant.
The food and service in general was fantastic - my husband has not stopped talking about how good the meal was, and he’s slow to give a compliment!
Well priced set menu - we have the option to choose our own appetiser, main and dessert. Food was beautifully seasoned and oysters were very fresh. Loved the decor and the sequence between dishes. Service was fantastic. We must have driven the staff crazy with our requests but now we know that they don’t do margarita or have frangelico but they offered suitable alternatives. Highly recommended if you’re in Daylesford.
Can't fault it, a very classy night out in every way. Food, drinks and service were all unbelievable. Thank you
Some dishes were great, don't get the squid though. Service was amazing, very attentive staff, and the experience was great, just not worth the amount of money for the food that was served.
The beef was absolutely divine. Steak tartare & stake frites, superior! It really shows the care for good & local quality produce. The fish + sauce was also delicious. We really enjoyed the food & will come back!
The creme brulee was lovely but the lamb shank dish was underwhelming. The server was annoying - would ask so many questions & was gone again before we answered & she kept calling us guys. We were asked to pay as they wanted to go home early yet the restaurant didn't close for another hour. I went with a French person who also said the food was disappointing. Would not go again.
Our afternoon at Bistro Terroir was absolutely delightful. A sunny afternoon in the courtyard, attentive and charming staff and seriously delicious meals & cocktails. The fish was a standout dish. The Bees Knees in all ways. We can't wait to return. Thank you!
Outstanding French food and what a friendly service. Ingredients delighted to be used in a way to provide an unforgettable experience to customers.
Excellent atmosphere, lovely service
Duck liver eclair dish was horrible, although may be an acquired taste? So apologies if that’s the case.
They did try to overcharge us as well, hopefully an honest mistake. Would be 4/5 if that wasn’t the case.
Cheers
For a restaurant to have ‘terroir’ in its name suggests a focus on local produce. It was very disappointing to see so few local wines on their extensive wine list. The meals were fine but lacked imagination and again did not seem to focus on local produce.
If you want an experience where you over pay for things and f choice is poor this is the right place
Dined in tonight to celebrate my partners birthday and thought that the food was delicious, really enjoyed our selections from the menu and I think our empty plates spoke for themselves. The service as well was fantastic and each of our servers had a lovely manner with all being friendly and attentive. We had a nice evening with lovely food and atmosphere thanks to the team Bistro Terroir, will definitely be back.
