Billy Goat Bluff Track reviews
19Don't underestimate this track it's steep and a great drive with amazing views but something small can become a major problem
Track was amazing, steep, rough, narrow, and shaly, Went up 7/12/22. Hard track to find and there was no signage, but was worth the trip. Wouldn't travel it alone or with a trailer, wouldn't want to meet anyone coming the other way in some parts as the track has cliffs on either side as you travel across the top of the hills.
Took approximately 3 hours with photos at the top. Definitely take a great camera and if possible a drone as the photos are not a true indication of the spectacular view.
Great track. Took around 1.5 hours to the top. Able to do with 2 inch lift, 32 A/T and no lockers. Some good steep sections and bit of variety over the track. Great views along the way
The hardest 4x4 track I personally have ever done. But was worth the trip! The track is hard going with Patrols digging up the track and throwing rocks everywhere. But the views were worth it alone!
Compared to tracks nearby (junction spur/castleburn.etc) Billy Goat is not a hard track. Generally any 4wd with low range is capable of doing this.
Found the track very enjoyable.
Breathtaking view from top (1400m
Fun and challenging track after the first flat. Although the incline meter never measured more than 25 degrees at any point for us it, lose rocks and steps and sharp rocks makes it important to pick your lines, drop your tire pressure and have some fun. This track is far harder than Blue Rag at the time of writing. Rear lockers at least recommended as plenty of lose stuff with the Pinnacles lookout a reward at the end of the trail. Add to your bucket list.
Wow, the views were amazing from the top. The track kept you on your toes with some steep and rocky terrain.
Very steep, and a little rugged; but well worth the climb. Amazing views on a clear day. Experience necessary for this track and also some extra ground clearance is good.
Stock Colorado and Triton got up there start of 2021. Track must have been bulldozed sometime 2020. Not exactly for the novice.
Such a brilliant track to take you from Dargo straight up the top of the hill to The Pinnacles my ears popped three times absolutely sensational one of the best tracks in Victoria High Country and I'm glad the national parks in Victoria huts Association take care of it as much as they do well done I've driven is track 4 times now and I absolutely love going there such an absolute rule in atmosphere picturesque excites and it's one of my favourite places in the world Victoria High Country brilliant. Anyone can drive it you just need guts balls and a good four-wheel drive it does not cost you a cent to enter this beautiful countryside and if you look carefully you might even see some wild Brumbies on the way up
Amazing views, fabulous countryside, loads of pioneer/gold mining history in the valleys below. You do meet a lot of heavy drinking reckless 4x4 enthusiasts though, bit disappointing.
Love it here. This was pretty much the introduction to my 4wd. Victoria High Country is a fantastic place to visit. Just make sure your 4x4 has at least all terrain tyres and you should be ok.
Pretty fun track veiws are pretty good plenty of places in the high country with good views. Track was in pretty good condition few parts can have deep wash outs that should be avoided having said that track conditions change often. Its not super hard but would not recommend newbies to take it on.
Wicked good stuff. Definitely not an ezy track. Going up or down will test your driving ability. Hema high country map rates it Medium. Hema high country atlas rates is Difficult. The sign at the bottom of the track rates it as Very Difficult & very difficult it is. 1st gear low range take your time pick your line's. It's AWESOME
Such an iconic track and highly recommended. Unfortunately gets busy, especially over long weekends. Take your time and keep an eye out for vehicles (either on the radio or dust if it's dry). Recommended only if you are mid to highly competent off-road - not a track for first timers or novice drivers and you want a well serviced 4x4 - a brake failure here could be fatal.
Iconic track. Short sweet and not too hard (at all) despite its reputation. Very popular on a long weekend
Great 4WD Track
Very steep and had my passenger a bit concerned in places.fantastic views, worth the detour to " The Pinnacle" as well.
Good medium Track, step up near the top and Amazing Views.
Can generally be completed in Medium sized AWD.
Awesome track. Views at the top are amazing. Will be very busy if you go on a long weekend. However the track is wide enough and we'll groomed so you can have people going up and down at the same time. Just remember to stick to the left and take your time.
