BIG4 Traralgon Park Lane Holiday Park

We were very grateful that the Big4 Traralgon could accommodate us and our dog at the last minute after another booking fell through during the Christmas break. The room was exceptionally clean and had nice facilities (fridge, basic kitchen facilities, AC). The spa was very busy. Great place for kids but a bit busy for us.

Went to the rope climb, staff were great, slight issue with one of fasteners but overall a great time. Rope climb was fun, everyone enjoyed it, will definitely go back again as we didn't do everything in 1 hr.

Stay here quite frequently for work, this last time for a whole week, disappointed that not once do you get clean towels, a cabin that sleeps 5 had 2 towels for 5 days, no room serviced at all, saw another review saying the same with response “this is not a motel” well you can stay in a motel for $100 we were charged $175 per night for a little cabin. Have stayed in hundreds of places that service the cabins during your stay.
The second bedroom doesn’t even have a door just like a divider slide across curtain that doesn’t even close properly
Very poor service for the price
Asked for clean towels and was told to goto reception before 6pm

Posting this here after I gave Big 4 the chance to reply. However, they have not responded to my emails.
I was excited to book a stay at Big 4 Traralgon as I had read so many amazing reviews. It was a treat for the kids as they have so many activities to do. $609 for a powered site that we don't fit on, but we had a plan b. Amenities block that barely gets cleaned. Constantly running out of toilet paper and paper towel. Overflowing bins which meant that when the wind picked up sent rubbish flying everywhere. Strange smell lingering around on day 5. Probably because the bins hadn't been emptied. We were told we would get a voucher to Amaze n Things on check in. We had to ask for it and so did most other guests. Feels like they were not forthcoming with them. Barely any staff and the staff that were there could barely crack a smile. I dare say from being over worked. Buggies not chained up, so kids were taking them for a spin. Pool very dirty and the area around dirty but this is the fault of guests that can't clean up after themselves. What is with the tiny pool for the size of the park? Too many kids mucking around and not paying attention to the smaller ones in the pool. Play centre was closed down on some days. Pool was closed as they were waiting for a part.

All in all, I will not stay at Traralgon Big 4 again and I will not be recommending it to family and friends because the place was a huge let down.

Rope climb is still closed and the pool and spa is over used and this is marking the water very cloudy so we did not go swimming in this pool. Campsites are on the smaller size for the bigger caravans.would not recommend to friends.

I am normally as massive fan of Big4 and have stayed at many with my family but this was the worst experience ever. I have even emailed in regards to the issues and just got a generic response. Absolutely appalling.

Brilliant Park for a short stop. Clean, well kept and maintained with a positive atmosphere. Excellent amenities with camp kitchen and TV room. Great for kids with brilliant climbing course, laser tag and mini golf! There’s a pool, bouncing pillow and an umbrella indoors play area for the kiddies. We will be back and soon!

Worst Big4 we have ever used. The majority of the facilities where closed for most of our stay in the PEAK period. Rubbish everywhere, no toilet paper for 1.5 days! Gosh it was appalling. Disgusting.

Cabin was very clean and tidy and comfortable, bed was super comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained and staff were very friendly and super helpful. Only about 5 minutes from the heart of town. Would definitely stay here again

We arrived at the camp site and been told our site is slightly apart from each other (2 family under 1 booking). Turns out our site is on the opposite end of the park even we ring and left a remark on the booking to have them next to each other). There were 2 empty site opposite to my tent and we asked if we could move my friend’s tent there so that at least we are opposite to each other. We were informed those site paid $25 fees to have sites together. Fair enough. However, as we set up our tents and talk to our neighbors, turns out they don’t even know each other and only book the site a week ago.
The next day, we booked a mini train ride at 11am. Kid patiently waited for 15 mins, went to reception and been told they’re was a delay and the train will be there at 11: 30. We waited for another 15mins, still no sign of train. We went to the reception to have our tickets refunded. No apologies, just said they were busy and the manager is about to get the train after she finish making coffees for customers. We would truly appreciate if we were told at 11am that the train is not available instead of making us wait for 30-40 mins.
All the kids activities (school holiday program) are either delayed or cancelled without notification. Kids are extremely disappointed because they are waiting for nothing.
Amenities needs more attention more often. Rope course is closed. Swimming pool is small and doesn’t look clean.
There are better parks out there.

Great fun for the kids and the perfect pit stop for a roatrip.
Change facilities, toilets and parking on site.
No food options except for hot drinks and small snacks sold at reception.
We went to Butter Factory and Augustus Gelato in town.

Curb your enthusiasm and lower your expectations to avoid disappointment.

The gym is run down and unsafe (treadmill not working and has holes in it, yes holes in a treadmill, dumbbells with no properly fitting collars, bike doesn't work, equipment is too close to each other). I'm certain the gym is in a condition where if an accident occurred they would be liable. It is incredibly unsafe.

Free wifi is useless, better use your mobile data

Doors in the cabin get stuck, spring beds are very noisy, mattresses can't carry the weight of an adult. I hope you like high pillows because they have two types, high and very high. Outdoor lights at night are very bright and therefore prevent you from sleeping due to the lack of any blockout curtains.

People take their stubbies to the children's playground, swimming pool, etc. No one from staff enforcing rules.

The outdoor pool can get very cold and I am not sure how well maintained it is as both kids got pretty sick after using it

Not enough toilet paper, they give you 10ml of dishwashing liquid, no paper towels, no where to dry dishes.

Tv works but wrong remote supplied

Oh and it's close to the Princess hwy (obviously) so if you were expecting it to be quiet then you are engaging in wishful thinking. That's before you remember there's a train line and airport nearby (nothing the park can do about that but something to consider). Expect noise all through the night.

Bottom line lower your expectations of this place. It's a very "budget" experience

Bright colourful cabins easy to find rooms, great signs and great kids activities room
Great for birthdays and sleep overs

Great ideas that haven't quite got there. Stuff like the rope climb were shut, bins were overflowing, amenities needed some attention. Sense was they were trying but just not enough of them. Other parks going down this resort style path are doing it better. The front office staff were the best!

The park is very good the amenities leave a lot to be desired especially the men's as far as Cleaning goes

Don't expect too much from this place. Good for couple of days.

If you have kids on holidays, or the children want fun and adventure on the weekend. This place is perfect, suitable for children of all ages. My 11yo SN son loves it here and my 18mth daughter gets a thrill playing in the indoor play centre. This isnt just for caravaning, this is a place for all children, and the perfect spot for parents to get some peace and quiet. Well see you next weekend

What a great little surprise this place was. The amenities are just terrific and the kids just loved it!

Besides the ropes course, probably one of the worst parks I have ever stayed in!
Toilets are disgusting worse I have ever come across in a park even after my partner told reception they still weren’t cleaned.
Kids indoor play area was trashed by older kids and not useable for my younger children
Very disappointed
