Excellent quality, amazingly cheap specials and open extended hours.whole box of quality oranges $10, same for mandarins, same even for strawberries.just amazing.

Do not shop here. Absolutely awful management who scream at their employees in full view of customers. I shudder to think what they are treated like behind closed doors. Plenty of other places to get much better produce that don’t abuse their staff

The best cafe ive been to in my life. The service was amazing, the food was cooked to perfection, the staff members were all good looking, the ambiance was welcoming, inviting, and accepting to all races, religions and genders. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Always a good experience. Very reasonable prices, convenient and always fresh. The cafe is a delight. You won't be disappointed here.

Expensive vegies & fruits, but yet you are not allowed to pick! Rude and arrogant manager who shouts into your ears. Too many mistakes at the cashiers (overcharging mistakes). People don't shop here. Dandenong market is the best choice (much cheaper and very fresh too and lots of shops to choose from). Even the supermarkets are better than this place.

Always love shopping for my fruit and veggies even more excited this morning there cafe was open and we had the best coffee very friendly well done for your barista and Claude for being very professorial will definitely come back

Really do like the place but I do hate waiting outside in the cold because of COVID-19.

They do have a great variety of fresh produce and some other items. Many of their items ar value for money which is the focal point in returning back.

The best thing is to come during the weekdays as that the weekends are shocked full.

I come to this place mostly for their high quality fruits, they sometimes do really good deals on the "odd bunch" of veggies too.
Can get reallllyyy crowded though so come early or really late.

Some fruits are worth buying when they are on special buys or on season. Most of them are the same price as if you buy fruits or vegetables from your local supermarket.
Considering the busy traffic in the shop and narrow space to walk, local supermarket is preferable. Not wheelchair friendly.

A staff accused me rudely of dropping a (single pice) cauliflower leave on the floor which i DID NOT. He insisted I did it because the leave was right on the floor where I was standing. I was furious when wrongly accused in this manner!

A warning to potential customers, the parking area is in poor repair and a significant risk to those attending. On 26/5/2020 I visited Big Watermelon and parked as usual. What I did not notice was a tree stump in the middle of the parking area. This tree stump was not marked or barricaded off in any way and resulted in serious damage to my car (see pictures) requiring a tow and a rental car to get home. The manager and the business owner on site saw the damage and informed me that the general manager would get in touch with me. Three weeks later I have heard nothing from the company and no satisfaction to my complaint.total repair costs $1500 - $2000. Considering the barriers that are in place on their parking site, I do not believe I was the first to experience such an incident however I hope I will be the last.

This place has the cheapest rates for veggies and fruit I've come across in Melbourne. AND! You get everything you need.

My wife and I spent $115 on fruit and vegetables yesterday and today we had to bin over $30 worth of berries as they had turned to mush and were covered in mould, completely inedible.
I would like to acknowledge and thank Tommy and the team for their prompt reply to my complaint and for rectifying the situation. Customer service with a smile. Many thanks guys!

We absolutely love shopping here. Everything we buy is fresh and at reasonable prices. Sometimes we get incredible deals! We will be moving out of the area soon but my husband and I agreed that despite the longer drive, we will continue to shop at the big watermelon. The only knock I have on them is the parking lot is too small. If they could expand it, that would be amazing, but I won’t lower my five star rating just for that - it’s only so busy because they’re the best!

Vegetables and fruits are fresh, the prices are pretty good. Been there many times.
However, one male staff was so rude when i shopping there today. He told me there was no difference and i had to only pick up the vegetables whatever they displayed in the first line. Cant customers choose their favourite one? So disappointed!

Thought fruit and veg would be cheaper and fresher here but was not. I don’t see how it’s different from a normal grocery store in terms of it’s prices and freshness. Colonial fresh has better quality stuff. Catalogue items sold out early. Had hideous music playing loudly which gave my husband a headache. Found parking but car park a bit of a mess. Also witnessed a mother slapping her toddler in the face in the car park.

Drove 15mins out of my way $1 mangos on special, couldn't find anything only boxes for, $10 false advertising wont be back. Also Cherry $8a kg not existant need to buy a box of extra ripe cherry for $40 who can eat that, please represent your specials correctly, false advertising is illegal under consumer laws.

Immense variety of fresh vegetables and fruit under one roof. Prices of some items are comparatively less, although this may not be the case always. Large enough car parking and a good cafe sits in the facility.

Some of the staff have really bad attitudes and talk amongst themselves while serving. It’s disrespectful and doesn’t provide a positive experience at all.
The specials are good but otherwise prices can be found at other stores
