Beyond The Valley reviews
9The Yellow Dumpling Bus, I have eaten from this vendor many times. The dumplings and dressing are the best and I always look forward to having a meal or 3 when they are at music festivals.
Some of the Bar managers give off a racist vibe and they cannot organise their shifts. Drive all the way out here to get a few hourly shifts.
Expected better from a festival held in Victoria.
Absolute mess, you’ve had 1 year to organise this festival and still couldn’t get it right. You’ve lost a customer in me and many thousands of more.
Took 6 hours to drive 500m from the campsite to exit the festival. 20,000 vehicles left to their own devices converging on a single dirt road at the same time with seemingly no planning or coordination (outside of a single bloke in a Jim's Plumbing tshirt attempting to point people in the right direction).
Where were the traffic control staff? Was this always the plan? Did something unexpected happen to cause this?
No respect shown to the thousands of punters who showed up to support your festival. Hoping for better next time. Unfortunate end to what was otherwise an excellent experience.
Tickets are way overpriced for what you get. The toilets were disgusting and the showers + taps to wash your hands sprayed out rusted water so god forbid you have any open cuts. 0/10 do not recommend. For the money we have all paid, this should have been a MUCH better organised festival.
We waited for several hours in 37 degree weather in our cars to exit the festival where there is no trees for shelter or shade.
The toilets were also shut off from the morning but food was left open? Putting money above accessibility is disgusting in 2022. Many of the toilets were not accessible for people with mobility issues either.
On New Year’s Eve, BTV was flooded with patrons and the limited amount of security and police made it feel unsafe.
5 police officers and about 20-30 security guards for 30k+ people?
Disappointed in BTV efforts and lack of care for their patrons and what appears their workers and volunteers as well.
First and last time attending BTV.
There was 5 toilets in each campsite for about 1000 campers, which were never cleaned.
We were trapped in our cars bumper to bumper in 37 degree heat for 7 hours.
Whilst trying to exit they closed the festival toilets, turned off water to campsite toilets, and there was no staff to be seen anywhere.
There was such a lack of accessible toilets, and they catered for “all food options” but you’d hate to be vegetarian or vegan when they have about 3 burger shops and 3 souvlaki places.
Absolutely terribly organised festival and after 3 years, this should be its last
Totally disorganised end of festival. Attempted to leave at 9am, finally exited the premises at 4.30pm. This was totally unsafe and put everyone at risk.
Pretty much zero shade on extremely hot days. Very expensive food and drinks. They take advantage of people by raising the price of ice to $20 a bag and also ran out of water to sell
There should be some authority fining festivals like this it's an embarassment and should be illegal. There should be a standard for festivals
Working at this festival has been the most chaotic experience of my life.
As a bar staff member we were promised “long hours and shifts”, instead we were forced to wait long hours with no end in the blaring sun or rain to receive shifts no longer than 3 hours EVERY SINGLE DAY because they over hired and now are forced to deal with hundreds of bar staff with limited shifts. Receiving shifts become a dice roll more than anything, and only lucky ones get to earn money with their valuable time. In addition to that, you end up stuck in the middle of nowhere 2 hours away from your home. This whole staff experience has been just the worst and the most unorganised garbage.
Never coming back to work here again.
