I actually graduated from here when I was in grade 4, sometime around 2009ish. If my mum didn't drive me here every morning I would not be where I am right now. Currently working at my dream job as a mechanic after graduating year 12 in 2019. There were so many skills that I got from here and wouldn't of found elsewhere. If Diana is still there, thank you so much for helping me throughout the time I was there. I still reminisce about my time there today. Only fond memories from this place.

Management making sweeping changes to the Cheshire School where the most vulnerable children have a chance to learn in a supportive and welcoming environment without consultation with the parents or staff. Poor decision and our children are the ones that will pay the price.

After reading all the negatives reviews about Best Chance in Glen Waverley, I will admit to being hesitant to visit when looking for childcare for my children. I’m so glad I did. I went on an impromptu visit and tour and was greeted by the lovely new Centre Coordinator Sarah Gandolfo. The tour was informative, rooms were clean, learning programs were on display and most importantly, the children and staff in the rooms were engaged and happy! It almost felt like the reviews were written about a different service! The entry foyer is warm and welcoming, complete with a lovely water feature with turtle, fish and water dragon. It was lovely to see the photos of staff rather than just names. It so much easier to have a conversation about your child when you know who you are talking to. Sarah spent time with me explaining the Centre’s age and developmentally appropriate play-based programs. I also really appreciated the staffs supportive interactions to promote independence and emotional intelligence in the children in their care. Looking forward to school, I know this will have a positive impact on that transition. I really encourage anyone who has previously had a negative experience with the Glen Waverley Children’s Centre to take the time to revisit now that Sarah Gandolfo is the Centre Coordinator. Her professionalism and warmth was obvious as she engaged with staff and children during the tour and as a parent, I couldn’t ask for a more telling visual than to see the Centre Coordinator hands on, building relationships with both children and staff.

My two daughters one age 4 and half years old and the other 3 years old, have been attending the Best chance supportive playgroup for just over 2 years, and they love it, the activity's organized by the amazing staff every Tuesday it is so much fun that they Don't want to go home at the end of the session. The fantastic support and help we receive from Rina, Natalie and Vanessa and the beautiful volunteer's WOW couldn't ask for any other better playgroup for any child to attend.
Cant thank you enough to these beautiful ladies for making this program a great learning and fun experience for our two daughters.

The staff at bestchance are excellent. They are very attentive to the children's needs. The food is delivered fresh daily & the kids really seem to enjoy it. Special dietary requirements are not a problem at bestchance.

The team of Bestchance Child and Family support are AMAZING. I cannot stress enough their hard work and dedication they put into their work. They do make a difference with their support in whichever way you need at the time. I am regularly attending their play group which gives me as a mum of two without any other family support outside of her working husband, safe environment for my kids where I can unwind a little, have a cuppa and if possible relax or talk to other mums about daily struggles. I am lucky that my maternal heath nurse recommended me there. I also am in their internal family support program and it has been a wonderful experience for me and I believe it helped me to tip over the edge of postnatal depression and put me back on track so I can again enjoy my kids and life as it is. I am grateful that Bestchance is and I hope it will continue to help others just like is helping me.

Used to be great but not anymore. They have closed the entire Glen Waverley centre for 2 days in March 2019 due to a gastro outbreak. They did not inform this until 3pm the day before of the closure. They initially said just for one day but at 2: 30pm on the following day they said they needed to close for another day. As I work full time, it was not good news at all. There are some disagreements between the management and staff, quite few great staff have left the centre and other staff is not happy to work there. Shame it was not like this. They have never contacted me to discuss regarding this matter

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHIlD HERE.

I was walking at the park with my toddler
Two ladies in front of me had seven children between them and only two prams.
The smallest of the two were holding hands. I had asked them how old. The ladies said 2.5 and 19 months. The children were screamed at several times to keep holding hands. The large woman kept yanking all these children around and yelling at them while having a gossip with the other carer. None of the children were happy.

When they finally got to the playground the kids ran off to play and one red-haired girl with glasses about four years old was just sitting down crying the whole time for her mum. The carers didn't even look at her go over to her or try to comfort her. That's when I realised they were not her family so I asked who they were and one lady said we are a family daycare called "best chance". Then after being at the park for probably three minutes they left abruptly.

Let me tell you this is not giving your children a best chance. These women don't care about your children. They are old and have no more energy. And it's obvious all the kids hate it.

Yelling, pulling and forcing children to hold hands is not okay. This walk was over 20 minutes on a hot day and not once did any child have some water.

It is neglect to leave a child beside herself crying and completely ignore her.

These two women should not he aloud to work with kids. I'm considering called CPS

This all happened on wurrajuri walk in Blackburn South.

This centre has been good in the past. I had very good experience with my 1st child but not anymore. The quality has dropped very badly, and some staff have very poor language skills. Basically, they can’t speak correct English. Some staff have no passion for the job, they don’t know how to welcome a child. Bastchance should try and rotate the staff between the centres and have more diversity in staffing.

Highly disappointed the unprofessional way Best chance staff work, my daughter's carer was on leave due to a personnel reason and best chance informed us she will be returning to work on this Monday the 25th March 2019. We took our personal leave to look after our child during this 2 weeks period as we can't just DUMP our child in an unknown carers hand. This morning, Saturday the 23rd March 2019 around 10 am my husband received a common text message, saying that carer will commence work not from Monday but Tuesday as Best chance should complete her FirstAid training, imaging how helpless we are as parents that we need to organize another day off on Monday as well, with a very short notice on a Saturday morning (not even a working day). General phone line voice record says the business hours are Mon-Fri 9 am -5 pm. So how come staff send a text message on a Saturday 10 am. Are they that unprofessional? I am confused! The reason being the best chance wants to compliance their regulations by ticking their boxes and we parents have to suffer. Looks like child care is just another job for them to fill their pockets. Very disappointed and don't even want to give a single star for this inhumane act.

If I could give a zero star rating, I will do it with no doubt.

My daughter was enrolled at Bestchance Glen Waverley since 6 months old (from Jan 2017). Compared to other centres, Bestchance Glen stands out with their fancy facilities. We thought we found the best for our daughter. Time proved we were too stupid too naive.

During her two years’ time at Bestchance, we have experienced several unhappy occasions and my daughter was injured quite a few times. We have been thinking of moving to a different childcare centre many times, but due to the difficulty of finding a full time childcare placement, we have been on the waiting list for a long time on 4 different childcare centres.

Every time I raised concerns to either the centre director Helen or the staffs, the feedback would be so negative, they always defending they are so professional and how much they care the kids. I must say, Helen, she is a hypocritical person with little empathy or ethics. Don’t be fooled by her smile! The whole team would be much better under a different person’s management.

On 22/01/2019, I received a call from Bestchance asked me to pick up my daughter as she injured her head. When I arrived only to find that my daughter was so weak with a big wound on her forehead (picture attached). I was heartbroken, I understand kids could fall and get hurt sometimes, but I didn’t pay the money to get my daughter hurt like this! I was told by Joanne Miller the assistant manager that my daughter was tripped over by a bag on floor and fell onto the concrete edge of window stool. When I intended to leave and drive my daughter to hospital, Nirosha the room leader asked me to sign the incident report. I refused as I need to rush to hospital, they didn’t call the ambulance at 3: 45pm for this kind of head injury!

The next day I went back to Bestchance to pick up the incident report and try to find out why my daughter was injured so badly. Helen and I had a very unpleasant conversation. I cannot feel any sincerity in her apology. All she emphasized was that “we did our best; kids can sometimes get hurt, bad luck”. This terrible person said: ” compared to the number of days your daughter is ok with us, the number of injuries she had are small”. How dare you say this Helen, are you incapable of shame? How many times of injuries would make you feel satisfied?

Helen further changed the incident description to “my daughter wasn’t tripped by the bag, she was carrying the bag, and walking but fell onto the edge of window”. When I asked for a copy of incident report, she refused and told me the report is not ready. Seriously, your staff asked me to sign the report yesterday and now you telling me the report is not ready?

I stopped sending my daughter back to this place, I feel so guilty to my daughter that I didn’t make the decision earlier.

For all parents, please stay away from this place, at least not when Helen still in charge of this place. Really don’t want any other kids suffer what my daughter been through.

I would like to put my conclusion at the beginning: if you love your children, DO NOT send them to Bestchance.
There was once that a tiny prickle got into my daughter's hand, the staff called my husband and asked him to go down all the way there to pick out the prickle. They said they could not do it. They could not pick out a teeny tiny prickle! They are NOT qualified children educators.
When our daughter came home SEVERAL times with a big tear in her pants. The tear was obviously caused by some sharp item. We raised our concern to the staff (very politely) and asked for a complete investigation to rule out the hazards. Can you believe what the staff said? One of them asked, "where did you buy those pants? Low quality pants won't last. " I can't think of anything more ridiculous. A big tear is not a worn-out.
Long after, they told my husband, "oh, yes, we found a nail sticking out from the slide. We saw you daughter's pant got hooked and she couldn't move away from the slide. " They completely neglect children's safety and totally unprofessional, unethical.
The whole team is rotted. I'm really shocked that such a team can exist in the children's service industry.
I'm not a crazy mother so please take my warnings seriously.

Zero rating but it won’t allow for that. Glen Waverley child care centre. 3yo son attends. Terrible director Helen does not welcome any feedback very defensive in her response and lies through her teeth. Don’t be fooled by her smile. Not able to deliver. Her talk is cheap. A passive aggressive bully. She paints a perfect picture far from the truth. The service has deteriorated considerably since we first started with our new born and I would warn any parent thinking of going here.

They charge the same as other centres but don’t provide lunch. Have recently “provided” snacks which consist of oxidised scarce amount of fruit rashend in the morning and left overs given in the afternoon. Cheap poor quality food rubbish I wouldn’t feed to my dog. Other snacks are sugary junk. Rare to see a peice of cheese. No portfolio for the kids either. Most of the staff can barely speak English.

After all that we pay the Xmas party is a byo food and chairs / rugs on their grounds. Teachers doing the face painting - where is all the money going “not for profit”sure. Every year they cut costs and provide less and increase the fees.

If you don’t attend their kinder they hold that against you because they can’t double dip and charge you full daily fee for childcare and receive the kinder funding on top. Many parents are not aware that most government run council Kinders local to where they reside only charge ~$20/ day and nowadays most offer long days for 4yo 8am - 4: 30pm. You can save thousands of dollars and receive a great program. Council run kinders are great.

Stay away for best chance if you want the best for your child. It’s the worst chance. These concerns are shared by many parents attending there and currently looking at other options. I will be changing my 3yo to another centre next year. Difficult to find a place now. Save yourself the headache we’ve all been through. There are far superior centres that will provide much more including lunch and nutritious snacks. I hope others learn from our unfortunate journeys.

You know what they say for every unhappy complaint posted there are 20 or more which are not posted.

Who would send their child to four year old kindergarten anywhere else?:) Amanda and Rasoja are fantastic at what they do! Great team. Thoroughly enjoying the experience. Marvellous grounds and facility.

Best chance is best place to start the child care volunteer role. The process is fast and I got a volunteer role too quickly and staffs are very supportive.
