Bertalli's Alpine Breads reviews
29Pie was luke warm and owner (I assume) used his hand to take it out of the cabinet without gloves or tongs. Vanilla slice was nice but much smaller then the ones on display
No prices on anything- I would have spent more if I can manage my budget! Sadly, Food was cold and greasy. Coffee was watery and burnt. Server walked off and left me waiting. I thought I’d give this local place a try but I won’t be back. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I hope this feedback is helpful to the business.
Worst pie, I've ever eaten. Must be at least 3-5 days old.
Pathetic effort for a so-called bakery.
Excellent, award winning, vanilla slices. The people who served us did not appear happy. Great location. Terrible parking.
I ordered chai latte and almond croissant and they both were so sad, I wanted to take them to the park to cheer them up. The chai latte was basically froth milk with no flavour whatsoever and the croissant was literally soggy. My husband's flat white was half size and average.
SOOOO DISAPPOINTED!
There was a HAIR baked into the shortbread cookie.
Chunky steak pie was Hard, overcooked, no filling absolutely the worst pie. I could have reheated a 5day old gas station pie and it would have tasted better!
Vanilla slice was average but atleast edible, But still only had 2 bites so less then average. I have photos but can't load them.
The pie was pretty average in comparison to other pies in the area and the hot chocolate was below average as well
Recommended to visit and try the "best ever" vanilla slices. Not wrong, they were lovely. Will be back for sure.
Good service.
My Great Australian Vanilla Slice quest has found a 4 star (plus) product as I travel through country Victoria! Yum!
Hands down the worst pies we have ever had. I had a Thai chicken.zero flavour, dry chicken and 90 percent flour craggy filler! Husband had a lamb.it was just lamb and craggy flour filler.no gravy at all.inedible.could not finish.coffee was ok
Today I called in for a hot chocolate, also ordered a jam and coconut slice, the chocolate was nice, but the slice was as hard as a rock (the topping was solid) I asked for another one this was the same. I sent them back and changed it for an apple cake (this was OK), to add insult to the problem the waitress came back with a knife and fork (this was an insult) for a small cake.
I have perfectly fine teeth. My husband is a chef and my son is a highly rewarded pastry chef. This was something I cook myself and know how it should be.
I did not like the attitude of the waitress or the service, or the product. I also noted she returned the slice to the cabinet.
Fantastic bread with no seed oils! Thank you for making such a healthy alternative to the rubbish that fills the shelves in supermarkets today.
Worlds smallest Vanilla Slice and definitely not good. Not sure if the baker has changed since 2014. "When they won their award" however i wont be returning.
Clean, friendly bakery. Enjoyed the chicken tandoori pie and my daughter gave the sausage roll top marks. The lady at the counter made up fresh hot chips for us.
Stopped in there today on trip back to Sydney. Staff friendly despite reading about others not finding this. But, probably the worst meat pies I have ever had. Cheese and bacon. No taste of cheese or bacon. Steak and mushroom. No taste of mushroom at all. The insides of both pies looked identical. Like eating watery mince meat with zero flavour. Country pie shops are usually great. Not this one. Give it a big miss.
The Dutch apple pastry & Lamington were both good, but the wraps were soggy & average at best
Lovely, kind, patient and friendly staff. Berry smoothies, milkshakes and coffee were excellent. Vanilla slice was amazing and surpassed already high expectations. Quiches, bacon and egg roll and ham and cheese croissant were delicious breakfast options, with the bacon and egg roll made fresh to order. A great country bakery experience. Would 100% recommend.
Went into Bertalli’s bakery to around 1.30 pm to asked for a pie no sauce.
A skinny latte no sugar hot
A custard tart
The pie was nice considering it was just warm and not hot. I do like a hot pie.
The latte was hot as per my request but when I grabbed it to go it felt like it was half full.
The custard tart was nice.
Staff were friendly
Eat their bread but did not visit shop only walked past. Went in for coffee today. Thought we would support them as there weren't many coffee shops open on Australia day
I am a type 2 diabetic and have found it hard to find a low carb bread that is good tasting, while visiting our daughter in Qld earlier this year my wife discovered your low carb bread, it’s fantastic however we live in Perth and we’re disappointed that the local coles did not stock it, until a week ago, my wife found it was for sale in the local coles. I am am a very happy man now I can have bread (low carb) that actually tastes like real bread. Please keep selling it in Perth.
