Bernard Street Fish & Chips reviews
13Reasonable prices, old school menu: fish & chips, great burgers - try the veggie burger; charcoal chicken, souvlaki.etc
The service was very quick 4 pick up. Fish barra grilled perfectly moist.flake in batter also.batter light.crispy & not oily.chips also cooked 2 crunchy perfection. I will happily return if the food & service show consistency.
Very friendly lady serving, only wanted some potato cakes, and as she didn't have enough in the bay maree, she didn't hesitate to put on the full amount I was after so I could have them all fresh. Cooked to perfection definitely going back to try their other options, like Chicken and Gravy rolls fresh sandwiches, as well as all the other standard take away foods.
This is my go-to fish 'n' chip shop; I've been here dozens of times and the chips and burgers are consistently great. Food is always hot and fresh.

The fish was rock hard could not even pull it apart, will never go back. The store needs a deep clean.
Pretty good value for the prices. Quite cheap, but premises look a little shabby and things looked slightly overcooked in the bain marie.
The stuff i ordered tasted nice though i gotta say.
Big variety on the menu and staff were very polite and friendly.
I ordered median chips and 3 potato cakes. Just gave me the chips. They remember to charge, but don’t remember to give customers the food. Terrible! Do not go! Food is bad!
Very friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Salad sandwiches with the freshest wholemeal bread and beetroot.delish!
Great place to stop in to grab a very tasty very cheap bite to eat a great choice if you're in the area
Staff friendly but food dry, old, over cooked and dry like it’s been there since morning. So sad. The old owner had everything fresh and perfect.
New management were rude and spoke horribly to their staff. Food quality is nowhere near the same as it used to be when previous owners ran the shop. Even for a quick stop for a morning coffee is no longer a friendly experience with cold owners barely even greeting you. Staff heavily underpaid and treated like servants. The only positive of this place is one lady who worked there, she would always greet with a smile and was incredibly friendly. She was efficient and definitely knew what she was doing in comparison to her management. Haven't seen her in while but you owners have lost a good employee.
Will never be coming back. You can get better food for the same price, if not cheaper. Save yourself the bad experience and eat elsewhere.
Ever since new management took over this place they have treated their employees like absolute trash. No regard for food quality, customers or staff. Michelle and her husband both have no desire to succeed their business and it is clear in their change of food preparation and the downgrade in the ingredients they use to cook their food to sell.
To the owners, you should evaluate your work ethic and your priorities as business owners. Underpaying staff, treating them like the rats and cockroaches you have manifesting in the back of your store and in your fridge. If you can't respect your staff like people, you should retire and re-evaluate your life decisions.
