On 31/12/22, we went to the Essendon store. While in there, a sales member, Daniel, asked if we were being served, we responded with 'we're just looking, thanks'. Daniel's rude response was ' that wasn't the question I asked'. His manner and tone was rude, condescending and very poor customer service.
We had also bought from this store in September (and are waiting for our furniture) and again, had a poor experience with an older female staff member.
On this occasion, when she provided the price, my partner said we were happy with that and her response was 'well you should be' - again, an unnecessary and condescending comment. I assume staff work on commission or sales targets so particularly rude of her to say when the sale would have also benefited her. On this same occasion, we noticed that we were the last customers to be greeted/acknowledged and that older customers were always attended to first.
Both experiences have been poor, we will never purchase from Berkowitz in the future or ever recommend.

Fantastic furniture and fantastic service. We needed our dining chairs quickly and Berkowitz essendon pulled out all the stops to make it happen. Now enjoying our beautiful chairs.

We cannot fault our experience at the Essendon store. Frank assisted us choosing our sofa and his knowledge and calm approach was so refreshing. His genuine interest in the products and our requirements set him miles ahead of any other experience we have had whilst in the hunt for a new lounge. Frank is an absolute asset to the team and I hope this is recognised. Thanks again for the down-to-earth service you and your team provided.

We went to Essendon Berkowitz to check out the range in recliners, Jenny was so informative about the difference of all the entry level, at no stage did she pressure us, which is what made us spend more time in the store and ended up purchasing our chair. Since then we have been back and purchased a dinning setting, coffee table and another Stressless chair. We also had Andrew, David and Frank who also gave exceptional service, would recommend Essendon Berkowitz

We bought a dining set 5 years ago. The table is amazing and I love it still. The chairs are supposed to be leather, this is what we were told. About 2 years ago (so when they were 3 years old) the leather on the chairs started peeling. I'm pretty sure leather is not supposed to peel! So this can't be leather! Now the chairs look horrible. They are all peeled around the edges, so you can see white material coming through the black supposed leather. It looks terrible. I'm sorry to say I wouldn't buy leather from this company again. Not trustworthy "leather"!

My wife and I (and kids) went into this store today, noticed a lounge with a different angle chaise, some guy asked if we were ok, I asked him if the angled chase could be put on both sides, before I could finish he said the answer is yes, I said I’m not sure if your understanding my question and I asked it again before he would rudely interrupt me and said as I said before the answer is yes, I then asked again, can we have…. Interrupted me again and said AS I SAID BEFORE… YES! So I assumed the couch would be able to have the angled chase on both ends of the couch, I then asked him how long the couch would be with the angled chaise on both ends and he said oh no that cannot be done…and obviously realised he F’d up! My suggestion is that the sales consultants listen to the customers needs before rudely interrupting them trying to look like they know it all! I actually got up from the couch and walked straight out, I couldn’t actually believe what I just experienced being in customer service myself and was actually so angry that we were treated like this, never will I ever recommend anyone to your store from what I experienced!
