Highly recommended - Emma, Alex, and Andrew were incredibly supportive, and made the whole process very easy. Their kindness and consideration helped ease some of the stress in a heartbreaking time.

I feel lucky that before I needed a funeral provider, I was aware of what is known as the 'McDonaldisation of funerals' - the way that the funeral industry is largely occupied by companies whose interests are financial, rather than caring.

When my mum died, I was determined to find a funeral home that wasn't part of the mega-corporation Invocare, and that would listen to what our family wanted without trying to push a one-size-fits-all funeral plan that guilted customers into overpaying. When trying to find a direct cremation provider that would also allow a viewing, another company recommended Bereavement Assistance, and I'm so glad they did.

From my first experience on the website, where the pricing plans are made totally apparent, I felt immediately at ease. During my first phone call, late on a Saturday night, the man who answered was so kind, clear and understanding of my needs. I got off the phone, burst into tears, and told my partner, 'They're the good ones. '

Bereavement Assistance were totally supportive of our decision to have mum's funeral at home, in her backyard, without any official service, which I really appreciated. They arranged the viewing and the ability for us to witness the cremation, even during the chaotic early days of the pandemic, with grace and kindness.

Everything was made incredibly clear and accessible throughout - every cost was itemised, every decision was simple and clear. I felt very much heard. To have found a not for profit funeral home in the middle of our grief felt like such a wonderful gift.

I can't recommend Bereavement Assistance enough.

Taking this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Michele and staff for their truly caring and respectful way of guiding me through the passing of my Dad, Ron just over a year ago. It was so lovely and special to receive a rememberance card from BAF just recently. Touched my heart!

We highly recommend Bereavement Assistance based on our own experience recently. (also recommended to us) Their promptness, their assistance, their professionalism on funeral day, the beautiful luxury hearse were all appreciated. They were compassionate, making things easy to deal with during a difficult time and offered good pricing for their services.

Alex and the team helped us say goodbye to our father. They were extremely caring, helpful and made the very difficult process so much easier. Could not recommend them anymore. Thank you again.

There aren't enough complimentary words to express how amazingly good BAL were regarding mum. From the guys in the transfer team (Darren (?), and Scott), who treated mum so respectfully and gently when wrapping her in a shroud (I LOVE that they do not use body bags), to Andrea, (the front line person who answered almost every call initially), Alex and Josephine who through many calls, and one in person meeting with Alex (it was this meeting that gave me comfort and confidence things would be done as requested), ensured every request that mum (and myself), asked for was met, and that every aspect of mums burial went smoothly. The celebrant Michael captured mums spirit and delivered her story well enough for her character to come across in the telling of her life (many people commented on this).

Mum would have got a kick out of the motorbike escort at Springvale. BAL believe that everyone has the right to have a funeral with respect, dignity, and elegance, and throughout everything, they actually practice what they believe, and it is reflected in the way they treat not only the deceased, but the loved ones of the deceased.

Please pass on thanks from the family and friends of mum who appreciated how
well everything was done, as well as my personal thanks for going over and above my expectations. Mum would have been pleased, and thankful at how she was treated whilst in your care.

Appreciatively
Sharlene (and Marlene).
