Berbeo Bros (Colombian street food) reviews
19Everything is very nice, Colombians serve you and the seasoning doesn't lie, the flavor 10/10 I fully recommend it
The food was awesome, we tried almost half of the menu and cannot fault any dish, all of them were delicious. We were also really impressed with the level of service, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended
I got the lechona from the ezistreet, north melbourne branch and unforunately I was very disappointed.the crispy pork skin was very tough and rubbery, and the rice with pork was really dry. I had Colombian food once and it was a very enjoyable experience but I can't say the same about it this time. 1 star based purely on my experience with this dish.
Super kind people, delicious satisfying food. Hit all the spots! Will recommend and come back
Unfortunately the worst chorizo that I have had in my life. Ask for a plate and have not feel so bloated in many years. Unfortunately this is not a good representation of Latin food at all.
I can't say that I have many experiences with Colombian food so not sure what to expect. We ordered empenadas, a skewer platter and rice with crispy pork. The food is generally very filling, and heavy on the meat. Empenadas are the star for us. It had this crispy flaky crust and seasoned nicely. The rest was just okay. The owner was very friendly and service was quick.

Why not Columbian? So we did.
Berbeo is basic and friendly, simple vibes with plastic water jug and cups and kudos to sustainable/ recyclable disposable paper cups, straws and sauce cups.
For drinks, we had the in-house Berbeo Pola lager which tasted like any other lager. Unfortunately, when the beer was poured from the can, there was a very short dark hair floating on the top of the plastic cup.
Limoncito con Ron which was a cocktail with rum, lemon juice panela (cane sugar) and bitters. We got the rum replaced with aguardiente and the result was a very refreshing cocktail and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Had all three different empanadas - beef, chicken and cheese. They were very tasty, in fact, we loved all three and could not decide which one was better. The pastry was light and crispy and the fillings were well balanced.
We shared a side of chips and a Pincho Platter and picked Morcilla (blood sausage), Chorizo (pork sausage), Carne (marinated beef) and Chicarron (fried pork belly). Also on the platter were Arepas and 4 tiny potatoes. A green dipping sauce came with the platter which had a nice tang which helped cut through the richness of the meat.
The blood sausage was definitely an acquired taste, pork sausage was tasty and juicy, beef was mildly marinated but the pork was a little dry and more like from a pork shoulder and the crackle was not “crackling” instead chewy and gummy.
The arepas were soft and fluffy and a were very good accompaniment to the Pincho Platter.
We wanted to try dessert but the meal was very filling. Service was good, friendly and accommodating.
Dont miss out on this place! Juanito and his team are just awesome. Amazing guys whose cooking does the talking for them.
Started off with the assorted empanadas - so moreish! Followed by Black Pudding (wow - again, very more-ish, and therefore dangerous). Then the main attraction for my evening, the Perro Caliente, a Colombian style hotdog with a not-sweet tangy pineapple relish that was superb, and a quail egg and i cant really remember the other toppings cos they were so many lol.and also please, those Plaintain chips are to die for.
All washed down with this super refreshing fermented pineapple soda, and also a beautiful Colombian coffee to cap the terrific evening off.
Combined with Juanito and his wonderful team, this place is a must-go-to!
The food was delicious, the empanadas, the prawn ceviche, the hot dog.
I'm looking forward to going to enjoy again some traditional Colombian food.saludos al chef
Super yummy food with really nice staff. 3 generations wow! Had Arepa, chicharon and empinada. Would definitely return!
We went for a late dinner last night, and it was amazing, the attention we had was superb we really felt taken care of! Would highly recommend! Thanks again for having us, the food was saldo delicious
The empanadas and arepas were excellent. Some of the best that I've had in Australia!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well.
Service was amazing, super friendly and helpful. The menu was explained to us perfectly. The food was so delicious! Drinks were great as well muchas gracias Fabian por el servicio
This Colombian Restaurant is well worth a visit Food is delicious and the staff is extremely friendly, Juan went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. I had the empanadas, lechona, mazocada and their home brewed Guarapo. Thanks for a wonderful evening we will be back soon. Gracias
Food was OK, but the burger and chorizo don't look anything like the photos on the website. Burger meat was still quite pink and way too much sauce, but overall taste was good.
Wonderfully authentic, complete with Columbian staff. Amazing food and drinks that I have not come across elsewhere.
Upstairs they have a private space for hire which just might be for my next birthday!
Definitely recommend for something unique and great in Melbourne!
A true taste of Colombia in Melbourne! This is the third time coming to Berbeo Bros and they never disappoint me. Fabian was very friendly, polite and efficient and food was absolutely delicious! Please come to Gold Coast
Awesome Street style snacks in a homely surrounding. Great staff and hospitality here, feels like visiting friends.
Felt like poor value for money and not very good, threw away half of order. Not sure how this place has such high reviews, perhaps Colombian community. Try for yourself.
