Bentleigh Fresh Fruit Centre

We’ve been using Bentleigh Fresh Fruit Centre for many years. It offers excellent assortment of fruits and vegetables with competitive prices.
However, at our latest visit in July 2022 we were substantially short-changed. The actual weight of fruits and vegetables measured at home was about halve of the weight the shop scales displaced.
The manager said that the scales were faulty and refunded us about $50, - the difference between we paid and the correct cost.
I believe quite a few customers before us and after us were short-changed and ripped off due to their scales false readings.
In my opinion, they had to put a notice saying that on the 5th July from … to … customers were overcharged. However, when we arrived later on the same day there was no notice, the owner was unfriendly and refused to offer any compensation apart from refunding overcharged money

Great service, fresh, very good quality & tasteful vegetables & fruits. Essential workers who provided quality food during lockdowns deserve our great appreciation.

Unfortunately the young women at the front tills today 9 May were rude and abrupt. Hopefully this behaviour is a one-off occurrence-perhaps it was a bad day for them. I hope they are kind and professional with other customers going forward as this is good for them as well as the community they serve. I have experienced only friendly and professional service at the other fruit and vegetable stores in Bentleigh and nearby areas. And we need more kindness in today's world:)

Absolutely the best fruit and veg shop in Melbourne in terms of quality of produce and service. The staff always give my toddler a piece of fresh fruit when we go in there which I think is a beautiful jesture.

I was walking along the Centre Road Bentleigh shopping strip recently when i noticed a guy tipping blueberries from a punnet into the palm of his hand whilst taking some out with with his other hand. He then put the ones from his hand back into the punnet and closed it and then began to put it back down amongst the others on display outside the shop. I told him that he can't do that. He said that he was just taking out the bad ones. I told him that his hands had been on them and that he should not put them back there to sell. He waved me off with his hands.
A few days ago the same guy (staff member) was handling other fruit in the punnet which i could see from where i was just across the road. This is obviously a common practice! Absolutely disgusting. I have been a regular customer there for quite a while as it is local to my place of work, but now i definately will not be buying anything from them.

This is a nice little shop at a good location which does its best within the limited space they have. The quality of fruit and Veg is consistently good (which is most important) and the pricing is competitive. Staff are quick and efficient.

Inflated prices and equally inferior products. Not a place to be recommended. Don't waste your money.

They always have what I'm looking for, especially pomegranates for some reason! They are super friendly and my young son always gets offered a banana, which is a lovely touch. Local shopping done right.

The produce are always fresh and of good quality. Even supermarkets run out of fruits and veggies sometime but these guys are pretty stocked up mostly. Friendly service as well.

These people need to check their scales or be more careful when weighing items at the checkout. The result was I paid way too much.

I’ve been shopping here casually for over 10 years and the place is looking shabby. I went to buy fruit and veggies for Christmas but the baskets were so filthy, I couldn’t bring myself to put fruit in them, so I left to shop elsewhere. Please scrub and wash your baskets. First impressions count!

Amazing place! Loved it. The quality and price better than Coles or Woolworths, so I will go there instead. The little chinese girl behind the counter was lovely and friendly, making it a welcoming atmosphere too.

Astonishing customer service, and amazing fruit and veggies.always fresh and prices are always negotiable.my kids love to go there as they always receive free fruit to enjoy as me and my wife shop in the wide variety of fruit and veggies.again, astonishing service.would recommend

Extra Fresh. Seafood, butcher, deli, bakery, fresh fruit vegetable and prepared salads. They're all great. Parking too is never a problem. Much much better than your Coles or Woolies * * * *

Friendly service; always greeted when we arrive and the owner usually gives a couple of grapes or something when to my kids; Really personal. Prices are usually better than supermarket (even on special), but this is really a bonus.
