Bendigo National Hotel Motel reviews
70 Bistro Excellent.
Kitchen staff were anazing producing great food. There were a large number of orders that were produced efficiently. Good quality food. The wait staff were also amazing. The lead waitress was so efficient in coordinating the dishes to table.
Well done to all staff on a very busy night
Food was reasonably priced and big meals I could see the parking could be a problem at busy times
Had a lovely lunch, plenty of choices and lots of variety, and yummy. Nice atmosphere and decor.
Went to the restaurant side and it was really good. Super friendly staff and the cocktails were tasty!
We had a big group and the food all came out together and fast as well.
The Gnocchi was nice and got to try the boyfriends Carbonara Pasta, very filling and tasty for both.
The Pork Belly got raved about by friends too.
Staying in the accommodation while we’re travelling and decided to wander out the driveway and try the connected hotel for dinner. Very impressed with the food and service, definitely 5 star taste and beautifully designed and furnished interior. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It’s our first time staying here but certainly won’t be our last.
Had lunch at The National. Food was amazing, service was absolutely brilliant and efficient. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive to patrons. Highly recommend The National Hotel for a meal. Although one downfall was the coffee was revolting.
Very un organised service either use table numbers or put name on order, food delivery to tables all over the place
Loved it. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Great menu. Delicious food. Will definitely be back
Lovely meal, great atmosphere, hospitable staff. Giving you 1 star for those horrible, ugly, uncomfortable little seats, stools, not sure what they are at the dining booths in the room on the hwy side at the far side of the bar. Please put some propper seating there
We called in after recommendation. OMG we had lunch in Bistro
Menu was fantastic.
Slow cooked Brisket, you could slice it with a teaspoon, the garlic mash. Also Pumpkin Lasagne with beautiful crunchy corner bit's. Yummy super
chips and salad
Food was great had pepper calamari small serving cooked to perfection.no chips and for salad just a few letters scatters.we order chips as extra. Grilled fish was nice.also the Thai beef was good. It was a great experience.
Had a private room for a 30th birthday recently. Service was fantastic meal was really good. I mean really good!
Perminda is the chefs name. Can't change from potatoes to mashed spud because "you get what it says! " Will change my review when this chef gets off his rags or he gets the flick. Usually 5 stars just fix his attitude
National Hotel Complex.
Where do I begin? This hotel complex is perfect. It has a decent sized room, bathroom is a little outdated but that's okay! The beds were super comfortable. The room also had extra pillows and blankets. Perfect amount of those.
We had a lovely room facing the pool. The pool Complex was really cool. It feels like a modern place to be. We were shocked how close restraunt was to our room. Not even a 45 second walk from our room to the bistro.
It's in a perfect location and If we ever go up to Bendigo again, we would stay here.
Prices for restraunt and hotel are quite reasonable.
Staff was super friendly. When we needed more tissues, sugar patches etc.
We unfortunately left a bag there but they were onto it so quickly.
Thank you to all Staff.
I come here every time I am in Bendigo, I even spent my last birthday here on my own when I was locked out of QLD, and tell everyone to try the food if I know they are visiting.
Unfortunately tonight I had a Lamb Shank and it was the worst by far. A desert spoon of mash, char grilled shank, no seasoning or taste, God only knows what slop it was drowning in. Can't upload photo
Excellent facilities, very clean and spacious, friendly staff and great service highly recommended
Had a very good visit there today for Grandsons 21st. Great meals served quickly as was clean up as we finished. Will visit again. Now another grandsons birthday.
Freshly renovated rooms, lovely customer service, comfy rooms, nicely styled all within easy walking distance to town. Would stay here again.
We rented the 3 bedroom apartment above the office for 2 nights. Location was great except for the loud street noise which kept me up at night. However, on the 2nd night the male owner complained about us being too noisy as the owners lived underneath us. He appeared at our door, after opening the locked downstairs entry to the apartment. He was rude in how he spoke and it was quite a threatening and confronting manner. He said we were too loud and it was extremely late and he ‘let us get away with it the night before but he had had enough tonight’.
We were a group of 7 - 2 female adults, an elderly grandpa and 4 kids including 2 young boys (6 and 8 years). The young boys were running up and down the hallway kicking their soft toys and just being kids. The rest of us were watching tv or reading. It was only 10: 45pm and to us they weren’t rowdy or too noisy. We were on holidays and let the kids stay up.
When we told the owners the next day they apologised but it felt insincere and defensive. We had no idea the noise travelled so easily. A simple warning to keep it down or a nicer approach would have been appreciated, particularly with young kids who were scared by him.
In future they should clearly state that they live underneath apartment 25 and that the walls are too thin.
Looking at other reviews this seems to be a common theme with terrible issues of noise and complaints.
The situation could have been handled a lot better and unfortunately we ended our holiday on a sour note.
Room was clean and adequate for our needs. Husband fell in shower. No handrail or stippled floor which would have given him more traction and security. Fortunately only sprained and bruised wrist.
