Bendigo Hat Shop

Got some great advice on sizing and styles, even though they couldn't take my voucher. Will be going back for sure. Wide range and very helpful.

Bendigo Hat Shop provides terrific service with a vast range of quality head gear.
Manager Pauline is welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable.
We purchased an Akubra hat here many years ago and it remains in great condition.
We very much enjoyed speaking with Pauline and look forward to dropping by this terrific shop next time we are in town.
This 'must visit' shop is on High Street, just a short walk from the Alexandra Fountain and a few doors away from McDonald's.

I would not recommend taking your hat here for steaming and reshape.

This was my experience doing that-

First they tried to give me back the hat exactly as I left it (without any work done on it). And charge me for the job.

Secondly they said it would be ready by 4 days and it wasn't ready.

I then left it for another day and the end result was a hat that looked no different.and had fluff and dust over it from their clean. Still wanted their fee.

I quietly paid and left.

Anyway that's the facts and I'll learn by experience

Very helpful and friendly staff, willing to help you select the right style of hat to suit your face and get the right size for a firm and comfortable fit. Stock a great selection of Akubras, I brought one for myself and relatives, and if they don't have the style you're after they can order it in for you, also have a wide range of other hats as well. Don't just sell hats they also sell gloves woollen and leather and belts. Highly recommended visiting this shop if you're visiting Bendigo.

What a great shop full of so many different hats. So excited l was able to a buy a beautiful berret for my elderly father.

Quaint little shop, staff polite and very helpful, completely packed with stock, l couldn't work it though as it was "all above my head "

I was after a new Akubra hat, which I purchased.

What I was not expecting was the absolute best customer service I have received in a very long time.

Wonderful experience here. The wife and I came in and the Lady (whose name I have forgotten, apologies) was exceptional, knew everything we needed, was honest on which suited/fit best. A great experience. Highly recommend.

Though I didn’t find what I was looking for (too many requirements on my end!), the lady in the shop was very informative, friendly, and welcoming. They have a pretty good collection of Aussie and other good brands. If you’re looking for a hat, this is the place to go! They have everything to outdoors to formal to fancy dress to everything else!

How lucky we are to still have shops like this! We were driving past on a day trip to Bendigo and were enticed in by the beautiful window display. Purchased two beautiful sunhats - both very stylish, UV protection Made in Australia and at a very reasonable price. The range was amazing and the service was fantastic- very helpful lady who we had quite a long chat with. Reminds you how lovely it is to be able to shop in a special place and this is just the kind of business we want to be supporting in these difficult times. Thank you!

If you wear a hat, this is the place to go, hats from all over the world, places like Australia, New Zealand, France and USA, to name a few. I thought the only place out of Melbourne to get such a variety was the Gordon Hat Shoppe but now I have been to the Bendigo Hat Shoppe I can certainly recommend it, great variety, friendly service.

Sadly in the last few years this shop has gone down hill, makes me sad to write this review. Unable/unwilling to customise hats anymore. Was told "to go to spotlight", which completley shocked me as I was used to having the most amazing customer service in this shop. From someone who used to spend $$$$ in this shop 2-3 years ago, sad to see the complete lack of fashionable racing hats/styles avaliable. And only generic racing hats currently collecting serious amounts of dust. Will not return.

Went in today, not sure what we were looking for, a hat for husband on the agenda, but came out with some FANTASTIC hats and the MOST gorgeous brick red mohair shawl, all timeless purchase. BEST service and the choice made very easy with the fabulous, knowledgeable owner. A MUST visit if you're in Bendigo.

We visited the store with a family member from Melbourne who was looking for a specific Akubra hat. She was impressed when we walked in the door with the extensive range - bigger than many Melbourne stores she had visited.
A staff member promptly greeted us and started showing hats from the Akubra range. She was polite, knowledgeable and listened to our feedback. The hat our family member wanted was not available in the colour she preferred, but the store offered to order it in.
Being local, I took over the request to order and within 10 days of the order being accepted by the supplier, I was phoned to say it was in the store ready for pick up.
Customer service at collection was no different to our first visit - friendly and helpful.
Now to wait for COVID-19 to allow us to see our family member and give her the gift she had been searching for!
