Benalla Aviation Museum reviews
11Had an absolutely amazing experience, the staff really are passionate about the history of RAAF.was a good way to spend 45 minutes on our drive to Melbourne. 10/10 recommend the visit!
Supported by the men’s club, fantastic aircraft museum to visit, old school planes flying and non flying, excellent place to visit to see the history on aviation. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
I went here with my family and i am indian and one of the works told me to speak english this is australia not the new delhi spice market and then told my family that we are the cause of 911 and we should burn in hell i would not go here if u where any race but white
Really well done museum. The enthusiasm of the staff is infectious. Great to see an old Vampire fighter jet again. I've actually flown on one many years ago.
An amazing small collection of aircraft and aircraft related memorabilia, including a comprehensive display about the Air Training Corp. If you driving down the Hume Freeway, this is a must do for any aviation fans. Many of their aircraft are working, and they offer join flights in a number of them, which definitely makes this museum stand out from others. A great place to spend an hour and learn about the ATC and 11 EFTS
Small, sincere, volunteer run museum. Must see for those interested in the history of the RAAF.
Great range of displays
Knowledgeable tour guides
Great activity for all ages
Well worth a visit
Lots of local history you probably are not aware of. So take the Benalla exit from the Hume and visit this place for an hour or so.
Interesting. Informative and a dedicated team of enthusiastic people looking after it. A great little museum.
The Benalla Aviation Museum offers a fascinating look at Australia’s military air training history, from the historic home of a World War II RAAF pilot training school. Attractions include a unique collection of military training aircraft, a number of which are fully operational and available for passenger flights, and many related static displays. Opportunity for flights in Chinese built Nanchang CJ-6A – visit the Superior Air Adventures website for details. Located in an historic Bellman Hangar at Benalla Airport, just two hours from Melbourne on the Hume Freeway, visitors to the museum are welcomed by one of the knowledgeable volunteers, who will provide a personalised tour of the facility, answering any questions you may have. The museum is open every Wednesday and Sunday, 10: 00am to 3: 00pm.
