Beautyologist

This was my first visit to Beautyologist based on a recommendation by locals in the area. I can honestly say that this was BY FAR the BEST wax I have EVER had in my life! I have been getting waxed for 25yrs and I know this topic very well. The type of wax was clearly of superior quality. My beautician was gentle and had a great technique. The service was efficient and extremely well priced. I left without having to go home and remove excess wax like most other beauticians fail to examine properly. I would certainly highly recommend and I no longer dread going to get waxed!

The fresh new look after lock down is clean and simple. Brings a very relaxed vibe which is exactly what you need when having a treament. These ladies are very professional and take their business seriously with great advice that doesn't overwhelm. Very warm and friendly, they don't push sales but they do inform clients of the best way forward with skin care and other needs. The rest is up to you. This in my book is the perfect balance. You also earn point credits against funds spent to treat yourself when you wish. The owner cares about people and her business with empathy and class. Am a local and recurrent client. This place is great, I have always been really happy with whatever treatment I get and the staff are always friendly, professional and helpful. I highly recommend.

I used to have eczema that flaked on my face, it took 6 months but now i dont stress about my skin I even go out without my make up

I got a manicure which was ok, very expensive for what I got, but I thought where I was getting the treatment was strange, It was like the store room and other customers and staff were passing by to get stray tans and to go to the toilet. While I was there 8 people went passed through the store room I was getting my treatment in. I woud not go here again.

After I have read all the reviews, I thought I should give it a try as I new to this area. Im happy to say that they are really professional with their service and the place is clean, tidy and so calming.

I have been meaning to write this review since i have a facial back in June but only getting around to it now. Beautyologist is local to me so I wanted to support them. I was so impressed with everything. The team are amazing! The beautician (sadly forgotten her name!) was so informative and taught me so much about skin care (she even alerted to an unfriendly looking mole on my forehead which i got checked out and later found out was a BCC- so THANK YOU). I left with a few products and that was the start of my skincare obsession.i now have a skincare routine morning and night which is my religion.i have learnt the importance of skincare and absolutely love it.i now receive comments on how healthy my skin looks. I owe these guys a lot an will be back for my next facial soon. Thank you! - Hannah. L

A fair range of product ranging from skincare (with products specific to skin types) to soaps and candles. Staff are efficient and happy to help.

I’ve been going to Beautyologist since about 2014. The beautiful environment, great service and friendly therapists are what keeps me coming back.

As a loyal, frequent client I’m disappointed by the slow decline in service recently. You used to be warmly greeted into the store before your treatment and offered tea/water from? Bec? - not anymore she just stays on her computer and has a very cold unfriendly vibe -not what you want before a relaxing treatment- and just looks up and says “ such and such will be ready for you soon” and that’s your whole interaction. As well in the actual treatments, if I have a massage involved, I have never once been asked if the pressure is a good amount or not- even the most basic of spas should do this. Also- some of the girls talk so much during the treatments it’s ridiculous, I didn’t come to have a treatment and have someone ask me about the weather and work, etc, it ruins the whole relaxing vibe. Finally when you finish they can really try and push products too much. As someone who comes in frequently, it’s actually quite annoying, particularly when you just want to walk out refreshed and relaxed but you don’t cause you have to keep listening to the sales pitch, again not something you should experience in a decent spa. It’s those little things that sound so small but make such a difference in the whole experience. I would recommend skin day spa for anyone looking for a spa in the area with great service skills and will leave you feeling great. Unfortunately beautyologist will not be my go to for treatments anymore.

This was the biggest rip off of my retail experience. I had a manicure and pedicure that were supposed to be a superior experience. And the cost suggested that they would deliver on this. What I got instead was a manicure and pedicure no better than your local spa place. It was a huge disappointment. I did email to complain and the owner offered me a second chance at it. I refused as I no longer live in the area. What I would have liked was some (not all) of my money refunded so that I didn't feel like it had been a complete waste of time and money.

I booked an appointment a month ago to get make up done for a wedding, they called 12 hours before my appointment to cancel. It's impossible to get a new appointment anywhere with such late notice, extremely unprofessional. First and last time I try them.

Always professional and friendly. They give ongoing feedback on how skin is travelling and what needs to be altered. My skin has never looked this good. Very happy with results

I had an amazing lash lift from the beautiful Angela; I am absolutely in love with my eyelashes! It is always a delight to come into the salon and be greeted with tea and and a peaceful atmosphere (and the lovely Bec!)

Best eyebrows EVER! Thorough, careful attention each time. I’ve been coming here since it opened, all the staff are wonderful for all kinds of treatments.facials, tans, waxing, skin care guidance. I still travel from Mentone regularly to be looked after here. Thank you Beautyologist!
