12Pathetic excuse of a ‘private school’. You may as well send your kid to Haileybury. Teachers are one of the most condescending people on the face of the earth, their curriculum is nothing but absolute rubbish, with the axiomatic fact that they teach the exact same thing from Year 7 and 8, ultimately jeopardising any chance the adolescent has of doing well in VCE. Their students are on of the most rudest and they care about uniform more than actual learning. If you are going to spend such money on a terrible school, send your kid to public school and try out for a Select Entry High School. Reports from my son in Year 7 depict the grade average for English being a mere 66. Senior students’ behaviour is absolutely appalling, setting a bad precedent for the younger students. Despise being private and ranking only in the top 200 schools in the state and 99% of seniors complete their Victorian Certificate of Education satisfactory as well as averaging a poor study score. I would highly recommend to look at other schools in your area, or have your kid try out for a select entry high school. If you want your kid to excel, please reconsider before falling into this death trap and pathetic excuse of a private school.
It’s a good school, I’m a current student there right now, great staff, some inappropriate students but it’s alright!
Beaconhills college has great stuff. They have many extra-curricular activities which are non education related and are awesome. That's what I like about this school. The early years from prep-year 6 is pretty good. The only bad thing is that the education curricular is far behind. They teach topics from previous years but just a little harder. They don't teach many new topics around year 7 and 8, which doesn't lead into VCE well. Year 8 is basically year 7. I believe this is why Beaconhills college sits quite low in VCE ranking in around 200 which isn't quite impressive for a private school.
The best department of the entire school (the arts department) gets the least amount of attention, the teachers in the department are amazing, the rest of the teachers are sub par. Do better sugar daddy shumack
The Zoom sessions during lock down for year 3 M had Trivia games played online by teacher. Including Movie songs played at start. Roblex Games played by year 3 students. In all teaching of Maths, Science and English was zero in term 3 for year 3. It also included sessions where teacher discussed her bike rides on weekends, portraits of teacher to be drawn by students We kept track of the online teaching and hence we know exactly what was going on. So we had a glimpse of what would be the teaching in the actual classroom. A complaint has been lodged with appropriate authorities and we are aware of parents who have suffered depression because of this. Many parents have resorted to private teachings for their children. Please be alert and look after your children learning in this school.
For every car i counted near this school, and got a dollar for it, id be more rich than dope rolling elon
I live in Chirnside Rd and the traffic is crazy, 1st getting their kids to school & then at pick up time, I've been working from home for 18 months and this is nuts, I have only a short time frame to leave the house before I get trapped in by all the cars doing drop off & pick up.something needs to change, we pay crazy rates for a local road that's used as a highway. Keep away from local streets and get better car parks or drop in/drop off zones for the poor kids that can't walk to school like we did.
The school it’s self isn’t all that good. It’s a bit old and barely ever gets renovated. Teachers are pretty good but the students in the other hand are horrible. The school is good with helping students reach their full potential but sometimes can load on to much work for one given time. Not a bad school at all, 4/5
We come here for puppy school! Lovely set of instructors that cover everything you need to teach your new puppy
Absolutely disgraceful treatment there by both teachers and students. After 8 years of being harassed, I had to leave. After moving I have learnt what it's like to be a part of a proper community and a good school.
Beaconhills is a fantastic school. They really think of everything and keep up to date. The teachers are lovely and they are very accommodating to my daughters special needs. The only downside to the school is the unintentional exercise being on the side on a steep hill (is that really a downside) and the traffic after school. You learn ways around it and its a non issue for those in after school care. With parents with painful chronic conditions, you may struggle. Discuss with the school as i bet they'd try to help you.
Otherwise i can not fault the actual school teaching or learning environment. Their philosophy is great
Completed high school here, sure it may be a little more tough than other schools but it gets you ready and set for the future!
