Beacon Lighting reviews
11 Wow, wow, wow what an incredibly helpful sales assistance. I cannot recommend Lucy highly enough for her patients and assistance today.
Not only did she approach me on entering to see if she could help (with no pressure) and then take the time and care to explain everything to me - ending up in contacting another store to put a lamp on hold so I could pick it up as they didn’t have stock.
Absolutely amazing service from this young lady - in contrast I was in Beacon Lighting Abbotsford VIC before for about 15 min, with only 1 other person in the store and no sales person came up to help - so major cudos to Lucy from the South Melbourne shop who showed exemplary customer service.
Lamp and Bob selection were perfect, thank you Lucy
Brought a Fan from a lady named Mandi. I gave her the size of my room & she advised me on what size & model I could choose from. I was very happy with the customer service & the technical advice that I was given. 10/10 service Mandi
I wasn't impressed. Sales staff were knowledgeable but the range was boring and technically behind.
Having researched online and knowing what we wanted we headed to Beacon. Staff noted our entry but did not swoop which was appreciated. When we asked for help staff were knowledgeable and provided information in layman’s terms which suited our purposes. Technical advice was offered and available if needed. We made our purchases and felt we had quality products and a great shopping experience. Thanks Beacon.
Disappointing service staff behind counter looked bored gum chewing asked to see a product had to serve myself smarten up people such a bad look if you are not interested in your job give it to someone who actually wants it.
Good selection and friendly staff. New house finished being built last week. The lights have been installed. Will post photos soon.
This fairly new Beacon Lighting outlet is well laid out and is well stocked with a good range of lights, fans and lighting accessories. Eljay, the in-store Architectural Lighting Designer was excellent. He quite easily and very professionally, and to boot, without any sales pressure, sorted out our rather complex lighting requirements (apartments having very small ceiling space). Thank you Eljay, we'll be back. Eljay is you man! Highly recommended.

Beautiful store with a ton of great lighting options and accessories, plus friendly and helpful staff. Recommended!
Wide selection of lighting options, good place to drop by for inspiration if planning any renos.
Avoid. I’ve been mucked around multiple times over a simple ceiling fan job:
- sold the wrong replacement part when they claimed later that you ‘always have to order remote + receiver for this model’ like it was somehow my fault or the tradesman’s fault. They talk a good talk after making the original mistake.
- neglected to mention a remote wasn’t included in a new fan (again me the buyer to blame!) only to have to pay an electrician twice to account for their small simple omission.
Well meaning but lacking a clear disciplined approach to running a small business and when it goes wrong they seem happy to watch the customer spend their way out of it
