Bayside Rock Climbing

Staff were incredibly helpful to a couple of first timers. The facilities were top notch & helped me feel safe & confident.

Tried climbing for the 1st time. This place is amazing. Staff were cordial and took time in inducting us. Did couple of trials and made sure we were aware of all the safety rules.

To preface, this review is from the perspective of someone who climbs a lot as a hobby, and it is not from the reference point of a parent or caretaker or any other kind of customer. What I need or want will wildly differ from someone babysitting a group of kids from the sidelines and this review will not account for that point of view at all.

I've been climbing here 1-3 times per week for the past two years or so and I consider this one of the best gyms in Melbourne. The membership fees are very competitive, the staff members are so friendly, and they make killer coffees too. The route setting, particularly recently, has been excellent, and at the moment I feel like I want to jump on every climb in the gym. There's something for everyone, all the way from first-timers to people who are climbing hard grades outdoors, and plenty of everything to keep you entertained for quite a while. Depending on the day, the gym can get quite crowded, particularly after 6PM on weekdays, especially in the bouldering area. This is great for people who like company, maybe not so for people who would rather grind things out in peace.

Both the bouldering and lead climbing are great, and you won't find better roped roof climbing anywhere else in the city. The atmosphere, particularly in the bouldering area, is always exciting and welcoming. I also appreciate that there's a kilter board upstairs for the members, as not every gym has one.

The only downside to this gym is that it's only 12 meters tall which is a shame, but the routesetters have done a great job with what they've got. The roof climbs are nice and long though.

Loved it! So much fun doing rock climbing with friends. Variety challenges available to test your climbing skills. What more can i say other than.i will be there again

Had our son’s birthday party, good service, great fun for the kids, allowed us to bring our own party food and nibbles.

Not just fun for kids though has a great indoor climbing for all ages

Such a great place for little climbers. My 4 and 6 year old have a wonderful time. They love the caves! Such a great idea. They have lots of options to climb too. Great for strength and resilience. Awesome staff and some food and drink options.

Solid climbing spot. Super friendly staff and creative route setting.
Unfortunately I’m not strong enough to do most of the bouldering, the difficulty spike is massive for me.
I highly recommend to anyone who wants to try. It’s very fairly priced and always a good time.

First time it was for kids and thier friends birthday special. But next time i was all in and me n my kids had a blast.surely looking forward to visit again

Amazing facility and even better staff! Chesca was extremely helpful, ensuring two new climbers were able to perform all belaying techniques to maintain our safety. Chesca was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable as new climbers. Unmatched vibes, we will definitely be back!

Great place for bouldering and rock climbing, very nice staff. I wish there was more circulation or they kept the fans upstairs in the bouldering area on more often.

Great gym, awesome roof. Mix of grades for everyone to have fun, 2 auto belays and a speed wall too.

Great facility with amazingly friendly staff. Really good for any level of climbers. Impressive bouldering routes. Loved it.

The staff are quite friendly and helpful, it has some great courses for a variety of skill levels. Much better than some of the basic rock climbing centres that are just boring flat walls.

The kids loved this place, great walls for young rock climbers and great entertainment watching the experienced ones go at it on the big walls.
