I've been training in various martial arts for coming up on 18 years, with the last 3 having been with Sifu Bayou. I''ve learned a lot from practicing martial arts, but the experience i've had as both a practitioner and a student with Bayou Wing chun has been some of the best, perhaps the best, in my life of martial arts! Yacine is an excellent and dedicated teacher, and his love for the art is infectious. The other students are all supportive and passionate. And all levels of experience and dedication are welcome. Can't recommend the place enough.

We have been students now for 6 months, hubby and I both really enjoy Yacine's classes and look forward to it every week! He is very patient, genuinely respects and appreciates the art, and explain the concepts very well with analogies and stories, but best of all, Yacine shows great humility and there's no ego in him or his classes & students. We trialed other Wing Chun schools prior to joining his class, but didn't feel the teacher suited us. Thanks for providing a very welcoming and happy place to learn the art!

I have trained with Yacine several times and he is without a doubt top level of his art. Great skill and understanding of his art and has the ability to clearly articulate it to others (his students are also excellent). Highly recommend this school.

I purchased a Wooden Dummy from Yacine. He was wonderfully helpful, honest and prompt with all correspondence. When I collected the product, he opened up the box, helped to remove the packaging and walked me through all aspects of the dummy. I was super happy I chose Yacine and I am very pleased with the Dummy. I train on it daily and it's well built as he explained and wonderful to train on. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a wooden dummy to train on. The suction cups are brilliant, they have not harmed my floor at all over the past few months.

Having practiced Japanese styles in the past, I was looking to get into a Martial Art that focused as much on the philosophy as it did on the applications. I discovered Bayou Wing Chun by accident, and decided to check it out.
Once I stepped into the first class in Blackburn North, I knew I had found the right fit. Sifu Yacine was welcoming, patient and showed a lot of wisdom from the start. After almost 20 months under his wing, I can say that the skills, knowledge, dedication and the ability to connect with his students transcends the basic combat teachings most expects from a Martial Arts school. Sifu Yacine focuses on the health benefits of Wing Chun, its philosophy and its applications in non-forceful training rather internal and grounded. You will find Wing Chun becomes part of everyday life, your mindset becomes attuned to the same concepts when at work, family, leisure.etc.and class becomes an integrated part of your life.

Sifu Yacine is highly respected by many amongst many Martial Artists from varied arts and styles yet remains humble and genuine. He enjoys practicing with artists from various arts and linages to keep growing and improving within Wing Chun. He does not shy away from demonstrating the similarities and differences between other arts and Wing Chun.

The passion shown through consistent and refined training, the loyalty shared between teacher and students, the respect of Sifu Yacine has for his teacher Sifu Simon Lau who is talked about in class, the teammanship shown amongst the students in both the Blackburn North and Caulfield North Schools as I attend both, all make Bayou Wing Chun the best school for anyone looking to develop lifelong skills both mentally and physically.

I have now been a student of Bayou Wing Chun for a few months and have not missed a session since starting. Yacine is an extremely passionate, positive and professional teacher that incorporates all facets of the Art into training sessions - Mental, Physical and Spiritual. He is extremely friendly whilst balancing a level of discipline when practising. Yacine has a high level of attention to detail and strives to ensure all of his students learn properly and to the best of their ability. The culture that Yacine has developed within this club is pretty special and complete with courtesy and respect for all involved within it. If you are considering taking up a martial art look no further than Bayou Wing Chun.

If you're reading this then you are probably interested in learning a martial art or in trying a new style to compliment your previous training. Either way, I recommend this school without reservation. Wing Chun Kung Fu will train your mind as well as your body and will equip you to deal with the situations life can present. Our teacher Yacine Bayou has years of experience training under a renowned master, and his depth of understanding of both the theory and practice of Wing Chun is clear from the way he teaches and the way he moves. The culture of the school is based on positivity and respect, an important foundation for any martial arts school. Come visit class and check it out; you may find this is something you'd like to learn. If not, no problem. Training here adds a cool dynamic to modern life, and if someone ever insists on coming into your house, you’ll be glad Yacine taught you how to make them a cup of tea.

Yacine has made the class enjoyable and enriching. He taught us that Wing Chun is not about being aggressive but to be relax and stay grounded. He is not quick about teaching us everything at one go. He offers tips on how to improve our techniques and constantly ensures that we are progressing before moving on to something new. In addition, he links the techniques to life quotes. How what we do connects to the technique and channel that energy to bring out the best.

He is really humble and patient in his teaching. And always eager to impart his knowledge to us both on Wing Chun and life. I have used a number of his teachings in my life development and it has definitely help made me a better person.

I would highly recommend anyone who wants to learn Wing Chun to come to Yacine class and give it a go. You will never know till you try it!:)

I may be biased, as I am a student here; but nevertheless in my brief time here (3 months) I have never been disappointed with a class.

Everything you learn can be used practically, and Yacine Bayou teaches it in a way that is fun and easy to understand, with a tonne of positive reinforcement and some laughs along the way.
Every lesson contains something either completely new, or expands upon a previously taught element to better understand it's usage and finer details.
I can't think of another martial arts club that I would rather to be a part of, and I highly recommend giving it a go!

I've always wanted to learn some kind of self-defence but have never acted on it due to a variety of reasons/excuses until I was introduced to Yascine and realised how Wingchun suited me as it's more about defence than attacking. Yascine has been very passionate and patient in his teaching and always made sure the class understood the meaning / logic behind every move or technique; encourages questions and challenges - nothing is left unturned on the table.

Another thing I love about this is how Yascine stresses that this is not a combat sport or aggressive form of martial art - he balances it with a healthy mental well-being and discipline. The aggressiveness only comes in when we have no choice but have to defend for our own life.
