Bay Of Islands reviews
24A nice stop over on the Great Ocean Road trip. It wasn’t very busy during a weekday so could enjoy the views and take unobstructed photos. Also spotted a lot of birds in the centre island (see photo where I’ve zoomed in).
As the name itself says, Bay of Islands is a great place to visit and photograph. This place also has a terrific history of the locality. The birth of bays is a great information to read and know.
Lots of Islands that are bound to disappear, sooner or later. Hopefully much much later so later generations can still admire its beauty.
Absolutely aesthetic and Purely pristine location. This place is so beautiful that it will beat 12 Apostles without any competition. Although, you can't get to the waters through this, so, better use the boat ramp area just beside the Bay of Islands to get your toes kissed with the wet sand. For best experience, catch it's glimpse during sunset, it's worth the wait to see sun setting on these tiny islands.
Awesome views and not many people stop here. There is a short walk to the view point from the car park.
We went thinking we could go the beach as un Bay of Martyrs, but It was only a lookout point, beautiful though.
Great place to sit and watch life go by, one of the most amazing places on earth.
Photogenic and amazing for friends and family. The 12 Apostles are are beautiful, strong and brilliant.
We would love to come more, but it is just so far from home that we get to enjoy it more when we go.
It's just amazing how water and wind can make all these incredible shapes and the sculptures and patterns and then there are the different colors as well.
Nice stop. Relaxing.
If you are running Low on fuel head to warrambool or camperdown. Fuel station operates there 24/7.
Yet another stop along the Great Ocean Road. Well worth the visit of you are taking photos. Wear a wind breaker because the wind does brng the temperature down.
This was our final stop on the Great ocean Road journey before heading back to Apollo Bay.
It was less crowdy here and the formation of multiple rocks are amazing.
We were here about the sunset time and view across the ocean with sunset is spectacular.
There are car parks available and you have to walk just 5 minutes to the end from the car park.
Breathtaking. Was visiting my besties (I'm from Canada) and we drove up the great ocean road and this was a highlight for sure
Shared the Great Ocean Road experience with our granddaughter. So magestic. A privilege to be there
What a wonderful place. We visited whilst staying at Russel Top 10 campsite as part of our motorhome tour of New Zealand.
We took the ferry across to the main harbour in order to pick up a boat tour our to the various islands, the weather was wonderful the beach and bay where we stopped was fabulous, a very relaxing time. A little windy and some rain on the return trip, but still well worth the trip.
Highly recommended
I was there for three days and I believe I still needed more time The most romantic place I have been in a long time I took so many photos
Excellent place to stop, get out of the vehicle and have a walk along the coast. The scenery here is spectacular. Most people appear to drive on towards 12 apostles, though I personally think Bay of Islands is way better.
Lovely place to include in your visit if you’re visiting the 12 Apostles. It’s just another 20 minutes away
Don't make the mistake of visiting the 12 Apostles and think there is nothing else to see. Bay of Islands is equally stunning. You won't be disappointed.
Very crowded and feels unsafe while driving. The tourist buses are scary. They are much higher than the cars and sweep a large portion of the narrow and windy roads. It scares me approaching these buses from the opposite end.
