My favourite bar on Brunswick! Great live music every night of the week, friendly staff and great drinks! Wonderful atmosphere, highly recommend

Such a great bar. Been a few times and always have a good time. Usually go on Friday/Saturday and it's packed, but went on a Tues and it was nice and quiet, great for a chat - and finally got to chill in the awesome cosy sofa space near the bar. Love the upstairs when it's open too, though the dance music can be very loud up there when you wanna chat in the cool dark room there.

Great bar atmosphere, live music downstairs for joining in for a sing with DJ upstairs spinning the deck for some funky tunes & dancing.

Lovely staff - very friendly and helpful! A very cool atmosphere with great live music.
There are some sloe moving coloured lights on stage (which is much nicer than the fast moving lights - so that didn't bring on any migraines or seizure like some other music venues!), which I appreciated.
Good drinks.
The only downside is it isn't wheelchair accessible - there is a step to enter.
I didn't go upstairs so I am unsure if there is a lift or if it is a stair case.
You cam tell that they're really passionate about live music and especially original music. I'd definitely return.

Fantastic live music venue/bar and excellent vibe. The bar staff and bar manager are amazing, friendly and welcoming. Such a great place, we've been coming here since 2018 and made some wonderful memories since then. I've also had 2 private functions here, our sons Stag night and our sons 21st. The Bar Manager - Martina is wonderful, always there to make sure you are happy.

Baxter’s Lot is a great bar and the experience my friends and I had tonight would have been great had it not been for the interactions we had with the aggressive and downright rude bar manager. Probably won’t bother going back thanks to her abysmal attitude.

Great bar, really enjoyed the night, the staff were superb. The red head manager is a bit prickly to say the least but overall a great place.

Best cocktails and excellent bar professionals!

We hosted a private party here in the upstairs function space and it was AMAZING. The venue was perfect, we had our own bar and bathrooms, multiple rooms (each with their own special atmos), a balcony, a 3hr DJ set, and best of all, the wonderful Martina and her team who made the night flow seamlessly. Our night was 1000x better than we had hoped it would be, and we cannot recommend this spot highly enough. Ideal for an intimate party gathering of 30 of your favourite people!

Our first Friday night drink after lockdown, staff were welcoming and engaging (especially the male cocktail waiter), laid back, friendly and open for a chat. A personable and warm way to re-enter Melbourne life.

One of my favourite bar in Melbourne. Free-entry live music every day which is amazing. Cozy, small, a great bar to catch up with your friends, enjoy music and even a dance. The bartenders seemed very happy were dancing to the music while working, I loved it.

Really close to the 11 line. Live music, good beer. Good atmosphere, friendly staff. In the middle of Fitzroy. Had a good time. A bit cramped, but it fills the place up and makes it cozy. Tables outside are great.

A really special place. If you’re local or just passing through, here’s a bar where you can be yourself - meet interesting people (both staff and patrons) and enjoy a good drink in a great atmosphere. The people who work here make it magical, and you can spend a lot of time at the bar enjoying all the trinkets with the bottles on the wall. There’s art on the walls (some by the amazing artist Anthony - who if you’re lucky might be there to serve you an amazing drink) and musicians and artists who perform. Definitely a great spot! While I wish I lived nearby to frequent this spot - I’m glad that I don’t, because I would. A lot.

The staff at Baxter's and the live music is what sets this bar in front of the rest. The vibe is always good here, it's super cozy and intimate.

The only downside is the toilets stink and need some repairs/freshening up.

Great bar to spend interestings evenings and nights! Been there a couple of times and always found interesting persons to chat with. The waiters are very friendly and the live music is also great! The interior is very cozy. A great place!

A guy was just being drunk and pushy touching girls and one of the barmen saw it and kicked him out of the place. A beautiful bar that takes care of his clients, 100% recommended.
