For all BASCO lovers who were shocked to hear that our favourite "Mexican/Asian eatery with unique tacos and super share plates" was closed.it was fabulous to hear that is was re-opening.

Cas and I have already been back several times with our BASCO troopers and it never misses. Jamie and the team are just super and the food and drinks are still outstanding. I think we have tried everything on the menu including all the tacos and share plates. I cant list a favourite as everything is great. Find some time and take all the family to a great Brunswick ICON.

PLEASE take Mexican off the description of your restaurant. Aside from a corn tortilla, there's nothing Mexican about this place. It's a crime against Mexican food. It's not "Modern Mexican", it's got nothing to do with Mexico except selling tequila cocktails. It's a bad take on Roy Choi

Funky with lots of atmosphere great food and cocktails and the service is attentive and friendly

Had another delicious dinner at Basco! James is always a delight and all the staff were so welcoming and attentive. Spicy margaritas were a 10/10 and the food was delicious. We will be back again!

Staff are a joy and the food is wonderful. The drinks aren’t at all watered down and you get more than your money’s worth for the bottomless. My local spot for a night out!

We held our birthday party at Basco and it was a great event. The venue was excellent, the staff were great. We had a really great night. Strongly recommend for your next party

We went here yesterday to celebrate my 25th birthday. The bottomless brunch was just wonderful! Food was tasty and fresh and perfectly portioned for our group. Drinks were lovely and despite the no double-parking rule, the staff make sure you are never without a drink in your hand (seriously don't know how they do it, because the place was PACKED). The service in general was incredible. Everyone made us feel very special. Atmosphere was lovely. I was so sad to hear they're closing, but I'll definitely be back again wherever they decide to re-open! Great spot.

All the food was very tasty, I highly recommend the lamb ribs. I love all varieties of tacos and the cocktails. All the staff are nice, I really had a beautiful dinner here!

Terrible Experience.

The restaurant's service was incredibly disappointing. On Saturday were at What The Putt over the road, Basco do the menu there and bring the food over. We ordered pulled pork nachos, but they arrived without any pulled pork. Since we weren't physically present at the venue, we couldn't immediately address the issue. Despite this setback, we proceeded to eat half of the nachos and left the rest untouched. Later, our friends ordered food and when the server returned with their order, we took the opportunity to inform them that our nachos were missing the pulled pork. We kindly requested a fresh serving as it wasn't what we had initially ordered. Initially, the server was polite, but when they brought the replacement food, a different person (a shorter man wearing glasses, if I recall correctly) came over and displayed extreme rudeness. To quote his exact words, he said, "Why do you think you can ask for new food? " and "Why did you start eating it if it wasn't correct? " The answer to both questions is simple: we had no means of contacting someone about the issue at the time, and we requested new food because the original order was incorrect. Furthermore, instead of replacing the dish as requested, the restaurant's solution was to simply add a handful of cold pulled pork on top of the half-eaten, soggy cold nachos, that had been sat for 30 minutes which was far from satisfactory. I'm unsure which aspect was worse: the audacious and confrontational manner of the server's questioning or the restaurant's inadequate resolution of our complaint. Either way, this was a one-star experience.

My son has very bad allergies to gluten, dairy &
certain nuts. We placed an order for a vegar
product & informed the staff numerously about
the allergies. We were assured the main course
dish was dairy & gluten free. LOW & BEHOLD!

The churros and Portuguese tarts are out of this world. The music and ambience is excellent. Staff is friendly and very accommodating too. We came in late and we're still fed and offered drinks with a smile.

Had the awesome bottomless cocktails with 4 course lunch and wow my taste buds were having a party in my mouth… staff was amazing and accomodating… couldn’t fault this place at all.well done and can’t wait to return.

Amazing food, and very friendly staff! Tacos were super filling and flavourful. Churros were made fresh and were delicious. Will be back for sure!

James and the team go well above and beyond! We had a great time at the boozy brunch, and the espresso martini was easily the best one I’ve ever had. Couldn’t rate this place highly enough, from food to service!

The staff was lovely and very helpful.
I had the feed me menu, and I can only said it wasn't a good experience. The tortilla crisps were over cooked and full of oil, the guacamole and pico were just hiding under them and it was just a tiny portion. The ribs were 90% fat and tendons, the sauce was extremely sweet and it just tasted awful the whole dish. The tacos were a good portion but nothing special, just dull flavours.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Poor execution of the concept.

Amazing! Everything we ate was unbelievably delicious. The tacos were particularly outstanding and we loved the cocktails. Also best Sangria we've ever had and awesome, genuine service to go with it. We also really appreciated the dietary codes marked on the menu and the GF options as me and my friend have dietary restrictions and it made it super easy for us. It's must try!

The nicest staff that go above and beyond everytime we have visited! Lovely people, delicious food and yummy cocktails! Love the vibe of this place too, highly recommend for groups, they catered to everyone so well. Keep up the great work, we appreciate you

I took my mother to Basco for dinner celebrating a life event.

My mother had a birthday party at Basco prior to covid and was so pleased with the food, staff and atmosphere.

However we were far from pleased with our evening at the venue.

I will say, I really enjoyed my Long Island Iced tea. It was the highlight of the evening.

My mother's drink looked nothing like how it should however.

Then the food came out.

To say it was revolting, is an understatement.

The tacos were combined with strange ingredients and had very strange flavours.

The Sally taco was just disgusting.

The duck taco was very nice, however it tasted more like a duck rice paper roll.

It should be against the law that the chicken wings with caramel sauce exist.

The naked Nachos looked ok, the beans looked off putting. However the salsa tasted like it came straight from a can.

We sent most of our food back and went to La Porchetta afterwards.

I advised the server about our thoughts and was told that they eat the food all the time and love it.

We however won't be returning.

It was a waste of money.

A very expensive long island iced tea for me!

I'm very interested to know how you, or your staff even noticed the manner in which I was allegedly acting considering how long it took for a server to even take our order.

Surely If a diner was acting in a manner that your establishment didn't approve of you would ask that diner to leave?

Or is it just a cheap shot response for the sake of taking the eye off the review I wrote.

Paying for terrible food didn't annoy me as much as supporting a business in which is responsible for the reply in which you have sent responding to my review.

Reading through other reviews here I find it astounding that clientele have experienced poor quality food like us, and even more concerning clientele that have experienced homophobia from management.

Definitely wouldn't recommend!

Generous all you can drink for the bottomless brunch (dunch?) was great. Dealt with a tricky situation while I was there really well with a patron been unwell. Highly professional, great venue.

We found Basco to be welcoming and friendly. We were quickly seated and served by a polite and knowledgeable staff member. The nachos were a generous portion and very tasty. Cool atmosphere and interesting range of Mexican standards done differently. We changed our order during our meal and it wasn’t a problem at all. Had a great experience at this funky and friendly place! Thanks Basco.
