Barrabool Maze Estate reviews
57 Nice place for a getaway weekend.
The maze is nice, easy to complete in 20 min. The area is nice, the food in the cafe restaurant is amazing, the portions are big and the prices are okay.
Staff is super friendly.
We enjoyed our 4th visit to Barrabool Maze this past weekend since discovering it a couple of years ago. Still get lost in the maze each visit. Maze is great fun, cafe, staff and atmosphere is really lovely. Playground and gardens to also explore make for a great day out.
We were very impressed with Barrabool Maze Estate. The gardens are lovely and the kids had a great time in the maze. We enjoyed lunch and afternoon tea at the cafe. Food was beautiful and the customer service was excellent. We are planning a family get together there over summer.
Super close to Geelong.
Beautiful gardens to explore.
My toddler loved seeing the peacocks, pheasants and chickens.
The maze is a fun activity with little hidden pictures, tunnels and a cubby and slide mid maze to keep the kids occupied whilst attempting to navigate to all the lookouts and the exit. Apart from the stairs for the lookouts we navigated two prams through the whole maze.
The cafe is priced well and delicious food. Kids enjoyed the little gnome door in the outdoor area of the Cafe, so us adults could eat without them getting too rowdy.
Very enjoyable day out.
Stunning gardens and wonderful customer service. Really yummy lemon slice. A little expensive (you even had to pay to walk through the garden), but given we'd driven 2 hours to get there it would have been more of a waste to turn around and go home.
A fairytale place with an amazingly manicured maze (which is actually quite challenging to find the way out, but immense fun with the kids) and beautiful gardens and lake. Excellent selection of food. Only had the breakfas menu ourselves but all guests were very impressed and fantastic coffee. Some beautiful wildlife to admire as well.
The food was good (trio of dips), the wines were good, service was good, the staff were friendly. We plan to go back.
Brilliant! Attended for a birthday celebration. The food was fabulous - great variety, generous serves and friendly, obliging wait staff. Local wines. Great ambience, good heating (it was a cold day), blankets if required. Beautiful surroundings. This place is a hidden gem! Absolutely loved it and will return soon.
A picturesque location with great food. We always love to get here for brunch. Typically they serve brekky and lunch both within Thursday - Sunday.
They got an amazing garden and maze. Added to the views are the farmlands on nearby hills of Barrabool range. During spring time you shouldn't miss the view of canola fields in full bloom.
Beautiful place. Perfect for a family day trip. Kids had a blast at the Maze. We had heaps of beautiful pictures in the garden. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Had a great morning with friends and family. Kids had a ball running around the maze and looking at the chickens.
Plenty of free parking and easy to get to, worth a little detour if in the area. Really friendly service.
Food itself was good, decent servings at a fair price. Tea was on the weak side, no where near enough for how large of pot was used. Milkshakes, coffee and sweet potato chips were enjoyable!
Maze experience was also a fair price but really needs some maintenance. You could see through most hedges due to the bottom halves dying, with often large ambiguous gaps. Explored the dead ends and unfortunately didn't have many fun statues or surprises you'd be excited to find or grab a happy snap with. Pretty obvious manure smells in places.
Garden was nice, though ponds were dirty or empty. As others have said, bit sad seeing the peacocks cooped up in small cages with little sun cover.
Worth a visit but could be so much more.
What a great place to take the kids over the holidays. We had a blast in the maze got lost several times before going to the cafe Duck duck goose for a lovely cake and fluffy duck drink. Will be back
Really good, Maze was good, took us maybe 30 to 40 mins to get through. Set in beautiful grounds and a beautiful location.
The team working there were friendly and welcoming, service was great and super fast and the food was good and reasonably priced.
The restaurant area is really cool, the place on the whole has a really nice feel to it. Will come again as its only 30 mins away from where we live.
Great place to visit. The maze is really fun and set in lovely gardens. The cafe is large with a big deck area on which to eat. Good coffee and milkshakes, highly recommend.
Lovely views, interesting walks and good food, we had a share plate. Staff terrific and well organised.
Access for disabled challenging for some, due to slope and paths.
Accidentally booked the wrong date for mother day lunch and understandably they were fully booked. We went back to the car and a lady who I presumed was the owner/manager ran out to tell us they would fit us in. So appreciative for the service and that they would go out of their way to help! Saved this daughter from a real stuff up for their mama! We loved it the experience and Mum was over the moon. Thanks again guys! Really appreciate it
Cute place nice stop on the way down to the coast - food good service a bit average. Gardens nice for a wander
A fabulous spot for a family lunch, excellent service and meals followed by an afternoon in the maze and gardens. Definitely recommend!
Fun activity for young and old
Fortunately, our two year old quickly found the exit from the maze. Wish we could have stayed longer in the maze, little ones need lunch. The cafe had a delicious selection of meals for kids and adults, which was complemented by coffee and treats.
