Fantastic venue, sat in the window and watched the world go by. Delicious food and drink, cocktails were delightful but slow, with only one bartender being slammed by demand. Will become a regular for sure.

Such an authentic Mexican restaurant in the most unlikely place. Great food and drinks plus the vibes were excellent!

Be careful when booking along the window.
My partner and I had a table booked for 7pm Friday night, Unfortunately when we arrived we were told our table that had been booked did not exist due to their system error and that in no way could we be served.
Not even an attempt to book in at another time or try to compromise just a come back next time. There won't be a next time, while we understand mistakes can happen the way it was just brushed off and no effort to fix the mistake.

Wow this place was fantastic! I feel like a few Mexican places have opened recently but there’s something different about this one. The food, service, stunning interiors and cocktails were all great! Will definitely be back. Nice to have a cool restaurant in this area of Coburg/Pascoe vale

Beautiful interior, tasteful colour scheme and great art on the walls. Cosy booths add a level of intimacy to a night out with a group or significant other. The cocktails are great and the food is amazing, the staff can give reliable expert advise if you're unsure what to order. Highlights of our experience were the Stracciatella Divorciados and Carrot and Cinnamon Pie. I wish this place was here when I lived down the road.

Great local business with the best staff! The owners are beautiful people as is the delicious food and cocktails. Will definitely be returning as it’s phenomenal with the coolest vibes, cheers for a great time guys.

First time at Bar Tobala. Limited menu but food & cocktails were great. Shared the trio of salsa's & then had 2 taco's - chicken & beef. Staff were very friendly. Will go again.

Amazing! It’s the small details that count. Owner & staff are extremely friendly, very helpful & attentive. You can tell they are passionate about their business and make the extra effort to make sure you feel welcome. Cocktails are both unique & delicious. As a corn lover this is the best corn I’ve had in a long time! Highly recommend the pork taco

We had an incredible evening here a few weeks ago. Great food, amazing drinks, wonderful service! One problem though, I can’t stop day dreaming about the corn dish. Soooo good. Thank you so much and hope to see you soon!

It is not Mexican-Mexican. But they make an effort! Staff are super accommodating and kind, but not enough in numbers, in my perspective. We needed to wait a while to get our food and it wasn't even busy on a weekday.
We didn't mind the wait though, since the music and the art on the walls are both great. Fantastic cocktails but the food has some opportunities to improve

The food was great.the service was fantastic, orders got mixed up, they fixed it without fuss and were prompt.outstanding.

Only lost a star because there was only one red wine and it was not very good. And no horchata

What a great addition to Melville Road! The space has such a nice feel. Cocktail are worth the visit on their own! Food menu is pretty tight but everything I tried was tasty and staff lovely and welcoming.

Finally the creep of cool has reached PVS! It's exciting to have somewhere close to visit for a much-needed margarita and delicious night out.

We've been three times and have enjoyed exploring the menu, which has varied slightly each time. The cocktails are innovative and well balanced and pair perfectly with the boldly flavoured food.

We had an amazing night, we love that it’s walking distance to home! The staff were friendly, when we spoke to the owner it felt just like we were at a friends place have a drink and something to eat. We’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time! We will definitely be back!

This is my new favourite place- and it just happens to be my local! The service was great, they have original tasty dishes and cocktails done brilliantly, and I love the gorgeous decor!

Groovy decor, authentic and well presented Mexican food and drinks, friendly staff. Slightly un-walkable from my house, so I might have to move.

Went here with the missus, was not disappointed. The tacos were tasty and the were amazing and the atmosphere has a wonderfully chill vibe with a homy touches. Reminds me of back home in Chile.
My favourite by far is the chips and the guacamole! It was sooooooo good!
