What a delight! We loved it. Comfortable with lovely ambiance. Beautifully clean. Very close to Balnarring shops, cafe and bewt dining at the pub. Even closer to the beach. I'll look forward to another stay when I'm not doing a course during the day.

Five stars. Balrose is a great cottage for a weekend away, fresh, clean and very comfortable. Balnarring is a beautiful place for a getaway, and our hosts were very welcoming. We had a really relaxed weekend:)

Balrose Cottage was an awesome place to stay, not too far from the Balnarring shops and only a stones throw from the beach. It's a nicely furnished unit with comfy beds and lounges to make unwinding easy. Defiantly worth another visit

Faultless Accommodation. Freshly baked Friands (thoughtfully GF) and Chocolates welcomed us on our arrival. Spotlessly clean, well appointed, big comfortable chairs in front of the TV, very comfortable beds, many thoughtful extras like board games, books, toys, DVDs. Bonus of a glorious garden to enjoy and a bullnose verandah to sit on and have lunch, morning/afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks while taking in the view. Peaceful quiet neighbourhood. Welcoming, friendly hosts Christine and Alan. Looking forward to returning.

Balrose Cottage was tastefully appointed and immaculately presented. We appreciated the treats on arrival and highly recommend it as base-camp to the lovely Mornington region. Thanks for the great experience!

Balrose Cottage was the most amazing holiday rental accommodation I have ever stayed in. It was in the quaint and beautiful Balnarring beach area for a sailing regatta and needed somewhere close and relaxing. The place was so nice I almost preferred to stay home on the practice day to lap it up. The owners have prepared a place that had a better kitchen than mine and the garden is an inspiration. For nature and garden lovers you will be delighted. Highly recommend you visit Balnarraing and stay here.

Wonderful place! From the incredible flower garden to the fresh home grown strawberries and home baked friands, this place truely felt like a home away from home. Stocked with all the basics - milk, olive oil (the good stuff!), salt, pepper, plenty of teas, and cling wrap etc. - we didn't have to go fetch a thing. A very good size for the 3 of us, comfy old school recliner lounges, silent and very private, and 5 minutes walk to the beach. We discovered some wetlands nearby with walks and a heritage building, which was great. Sitting on the deck was lovely and peaceful - this isn't a party town, just a great spot to relax (and write literally, smell the roses). During a storm, we lost power for a couple of hours (the whole town was down) and Alan was kind enough to check in on us and provide a gas fired bbq so I could finish making some blueberry pancakes. He even dropped off some more home grown strawberries! Great value, no holiday price gouging, and comfy beds. Thanks for a great weekend!

We stayed for 2 nights, and it was a home away from home feel. Inside was very comfortable and well appointed …including a kitchen, bathroom and games/ books cupboard that you’d need for a longer stay than we had. Quiet, clean and even in mid winter the garden was spectacular. I think Balrose Cottage is most suitable for couples.

Amazing place. Truly a home away from home. A great example of how a wonderful house can be maintained with a beautiful garden and many amenities. Very well appointed and taken care to the minutest details for the comfort and well being of people who would want to relax and be at home. Absolutely serene, quite and calm surroundings. Myself, wife and two kids had two nights there and feel that it was not enough. Alan and Christine are really great hosts. We highly recommend this place and will be looking forward to returning soon for a longer stay.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Balrose Cottage.
The first thing you notice is the wonderful garden, even in winter this garden is beautiful. Balrose has that charming cottage feel with warmth and serenity to be enjoyed in spotless condition. The area has plenty of great walks and Alan & Christine were a delight, they have great knowledge of the local area and are glad to give advice if further exploring is your taste.
The cottage has everything you will need, we had no issues with anything (including the wifi) and would gladly recommend to anyone.
We will certainly be returning!

We had a very comfortable 3 night stay. Very well tended garden made the cottage a beautiful sight on arrival. All amenities in very good condition. Progress is being made to improve the wifi, so if you want to work in a very quiet location, I'd recommend the stay.

We loved Balrose Cottage. Christine & Alan were lovely hosts & nothing was too much trouble. The cottage had everything we needed and more. It is situated in a quiet street and within walking distance to shops and for a stroll along the beach. Wineries and restaurants are close by. The garden is very impressive. Unlike the previous review, we didn't have any issues with the wifi. We would happily stay at the cottage again.

I booked the cottage for my elderly parents and I as we were attending my son’s graduation from HMAS Cerberus. The proximity to the Naval base was perfect (no more than five minutes by car), and we weren’t too far from both Mornington and Frankston.

The cottage was perfect for our needs, and we couldn’t fault anything. Considering it was May, even the weather was great!

If I was ever to return to the area, I would have no hesitation in contacting Christine and Alan again.

There is nothing to fault about this property and everything to praise. The garden is quite something to behold and our two breakfasts were eaten outside on the sunny verandah where there are two spots to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine. The house itself is spotless with the prettiest floral sheets on the beds which makes a lovely change from the ubiquitous white. There is a large, comfortable lounge-room with recliner chairs and a kitchen equipped with all the essentials. We met our wonderful hosts, Alan and Christine, who were happy to answer all our questions about where to eat and what to do but they have also created great information folders which are in the cottage. You are close to the beach and village shops and restaurants as well as only being a short distance from various attractions such as the Point Leo Estate Sculpture Park. If you want to just drop your bags and immediately begin to enjoy your break or holiday, Balrose Cottage is where you need to be.

Stunning place and lovely location. Owners were super-welcoming and really went the extra mile with personal touches. Clean and extremely comfortable. The garden was incredible and one of the highlights was sitting on the porch for evening drinks overlooking the amazing flowers. Look forward to visiting again.

We chose this accomodation after reading the reviews; hoping they were close to our experience. Well; the reviews are right. This place is lovely. Both the garden and house are superb and even after a long Melbourne summer, the garden is better than the pictures show it to be. Stunning, actually. It was designed and is now tended and cultivated by the owners; who live next door by the way. It put us in holiday mode as soon as we arrived. The cottage is very much a cottage but with nothing missed. Spotless, welcoming and fully equipped. See other reviews to detail what is there. Wifi was fast too. Did I say the location is excellent? That too. A quiet road in a tiny village 2 km from good local shopping and 500m or so to Balnarring beach. Am I going on about it a bit? Probably, but Christine and Alan, the owners, left no stone unturned to help us have a relaxing and quiet break. And if you like living in a beautiful garden I defy you to find a nicer place.

A feeling of peace in paradise, spotless cottage with elegant decor in an outstanding setting with the friendliest of hosts. I had the most enjoyable stay.

Where to start with our comments about Balrose Cottage?
It is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, luxury linens and towels, and a well equipped kitchen. The welcoming blueberry muffins and chocolates on the table (not to mention the roses - thank you Christine), and the most beautiful garden.
Christine and Alan are very friendly and made us feel very welcome, and with the beach only a few minutes walk away, we couldn"t ask for more.
We certainly hope to return, and would highly recommend Balrose Cottage to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Balrose Cottage. Christine and Alan are absolutely delightful. Their friendliness, support and attention to detail exceeded that of the 5-star Park Hyatt, we stayed at following our time at Balnarring. The cottage gardens were the most beautiful and best maintained we've seen. Internally, the extremely clean cottage provided a wide range of facilities which are equally well maintained. The key is that Christine and Alan focus on providing their guests with the sort of experience they would ultimately want for themselves. They are caring and considerate and their cottage is an absolute delight; just what you want in a break from the hustle and bustle of life.
