Went last night with 4 friends, and had such a great experience. We ended up eating through every item on the menu, and the food came to $100 total for all 5 of us.

Every single dish was delicious. Well balanced flavours, with great textures. The vibe was lovely and even though we were the last people in the restaurant we didn't feel at all rushed.

The host was super friendly, and made the whole night feel easy and seemless.

We'll definitely be returning.

Went for their Tex Mex buffet, food was amazing! I wish I could have eaten more. We definitely rolled home that night.

Loved every element of this place. Absolutely beautiful food, really well chosen wine list, friendly, enthusiastic staff. The perfect local soul food haunt.

Had every dish on the menu between our group, and they were all delicious. The wine selection was also great and affordable. Even as a meat eater, I think I'm going to be a regular here!

Edit: Came back again for the degustation and was even more impressed. My new local fav for a meat-free meal.

We went on a Saturday and you can only have the 6 course banquet. The food was just OK and definitely not enough for 4 people. The management was very bad.

I complained because we only had 5 courses. The response from the manager was that they mix the last 2 in the menu in one plate to save room in the table. To me that's just one course. His response was 'that's the way banquets are'.

Well, I'm 42yo and I can tell you that I have had more than 1 banquet in my life and never got 2 mixed courses in one. I said to him 'I'm just giving you this feedback: that 6 is misleading and should be changed for a 5. Just do whatever you want with it'. His response continued as 'that's the way we do banquets here'. He just turned around and left.

I would never expect a response like this from a professional. Obviously he is not one.

The food was amazing, the staff were incredible. The music was fantastic. I loved it. It's one of my favourite places on High St. Thoroughly recommend. I can't wait to go back

Some of the staff are really rude and the food is very average. The eggplant dish is the only dish that was nice. The rest were just normal dishes I could make at home. But it was mainly the rudness of the staff that put me off.

It's been a while since I've been this impressed by a meal. We shared a whole bunch of plates between four of us and every. Single. Bite. Was amazing. Would recommend especially for vegans but really, just anyone who likes eating food. Will definitely be back.

Oh, and extra points for playing 'magic dance' from labyrinth during the meal also, our waitress was super friendly!

The best thing about Thornbury at the moment.
My only complaint is that it's closed on a Tuesday!

5 stars for delicious, creative vegan food. We've been here for the 6 course degustation and the xmas in July roast dinner and will be back again for what looks like an amazing bar menu. The place feels non-pretentious, chilled out, and relaxing. Could be improved by polishing the quality of the decor (lighting, toilets etc.) to match the quality of the food and drinks.

I ordered the brussel sprouts which were amazing and a big bowl full. Mark ordered the ravioli which was very tastey but he's complaint was that 3 pieces of ravioli for $21 was abit expensivefor what was on the plate.friendly staff hopefully they'll realize the serving sizes need ajusting a bit other than that a great place

Food and wine were both very good. We had the vegan degustation and were happy with everything. Would love to have some more communication as to when Ballard's is open as opposed to A Fan's Notes, which is also very good.

Amazing food. Came fornth degustation and loved it. Have been regarlarly after and gotten great vegan food and cheap drinks! A+

Honestly probably the best place on high street to wet your mouth with a Pinot.

I go here after I mow the lawn every second Sunday.

Great food and decent wine list. So good to see a dedicated vegan menu by default, not omission.
