Not all wards, but the actual clinical is great, but personal care is disgusting, my relative has been in there and does not get shaved unless I go in.
Jim Gay unit did not shave my relative for 4days.
He is use to having a shave everyday.
People can be shaved in bed, not just when they have showers.

I am very appreciative of all the wonderful care I received from the ambulance, emergency, orthopedic, anaesthesia, imaging, physio and 2 North staff.

Took many years to get past the trauma of what happened to me at the birthing suite of this hospital. During Labor, I was pinned down by 3 staff members and had unconsental procedures performed inside me. All due to "miscommunication" between staff.

Would highly recommend avoiding this facility and seeking better care elsewhere.
They have screwed up a multitude of things in my experience- the most recent being giving a diabetic family member of mine an infection that she now needs surgery for. This was due to a lack of care and regard for getting things done in a clean, safe way. They only wanted to rush her out and move onto the next patient. Everything was rushed and done hastily

Zero patient parking. Longest wait times ever. Was referred here for my father who waited for 4 hours only to be told to stop drinking tea at night. That could’ve been advised in an email. Anyway… worst experience ever.

When I was in there the whole ED only had 1 doctor was on for entire shift that doctor was mostly spending her time in resuscitation.people waiting on the floor in ED waiting room literally dying, ambulances banked up waiting for 10 hours not enough beds. I was having severely severe allergic adverse reaction to my first covid vaccine. It's a disgrace our government do not properly fund regional hospitals. Zero specialists in ED at night is also a big issue.

To the Koorie liaison officers I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your presence added calmness and safety. Along with my son Joseph. Sincerely thank you very much.

I was in emergency with my housemate for over 6 hours starting at 6: 50pm 22/6/2023.
At 2: 40am we wanted to make sure everything was uploaded to their MyHealth account. We talked to the nurse you advised who advised to seek Clerk advice. When talking to the Clerk they were very annoyed and agitated about our question. We tried to ask if there was anything to do and they flat out refused to help. We sat down in the waiting area and the same Clerk came out to us in the waiting area and said "I've talked to the head nurse and there is nothing we can do about it, you have to contact MyGov if you want these documents to be uploaded". My housemate has autism spectrum disorder and asked if they could have this is writing so it can be passed on, the Clerk very rudely asked "Are you serious? " My house clearly upset asked them to leave as they could feel themselves having a sensory overload due to all the pain and stress they were under due to attending the ED. The Clerk backed off after my housemate started to cry and left. This is terrible customer service. I understand that it is 2: 40am but that doesn't give the right to talk to someone the way they did.

Until you have truly experienced ED as a person in need of care, you will never fully understand the incredible caring and skilled work they do under immense pressure. I have last week and will be eternally grateful to all of them for their devotion to me and the other patients. Please forgive my curtnes and lack of understanding. You make me proud to live in this district. Stay safe.

In a time when hospitals are at breaking point all over Victoria with lack of staff and under resourced I just want to give a shout out to the wonderful Dialysis ward and staff I attend three times a week and cannot speak more highly of them they are so dedicated kind and caring, absolutely wonderful including the amazing Ward clerk Julie

As directed by Maryborough GP, we urgently transported my 84 year old terminally ill Mother in Law to ED as her tests had shown she was experiencing extreme liver failure, we arrived at approximately 3PM, she was left sitting in a wheelchair for the next 9 hours becoming very distressed, token promises were not kept by socalled professional staff, for all the modern bells & whistles this modern facility appears to have, it lacks any form of organisation, this is the most shameful health service I've witnessed, those in charge should be utterly ashamed of themselves, not even of a third world standard

I am reporting this hospitable to Vichealth because of its lack of caring Nurses, incompetence and due to the nature of all of ballarat and its surroundings. I am reporting it to A) take it down. Or B) replace all staff. Because either one has to go. Has to be the worst hospitable. I will happily take this hospitable to court

Sent my 19 year old daughter away from emergency after 12 hours even though she could not walk and was in extremely bad pain, they totally dismissed her and sent her on her way at 3am. Her knee was hugely swollen and she was unable to weight bare or bend her knee. Ended up back in emergency 3 days later on advice from her GP after her GP recommended she have an ultrasound and X-ray and the results were frightening. My daughter ended up staying 2 nights where they wouldn’t give her adequate pain relief or regular ice for her knee as was recommended by the orthopedic surgeon I even had to call them to ask what was going on and why they were not giving her pain relief they then went to see her to give her panadol even though she was written up for anti inflammatory medication and stronger pain relief. No one offered to assist her to the shower or have a bed bath at the very least for the time she was there. After an MRI on her second day on the ward she was booked in for surgery 4 days later as an outpatient.everything seemed to hard for the staff and like it was too much effort to tend to her needs. On arrival for her procedure they would not let me wait with her before her anesthetic because they didn’t want to Covid test me. Horrible experience especially for a 19 year old who was told this could be an ongoing condition and will more than likely require surgeries in the future. Absolutely disgusting experience

Worst service ever! Aren’t the medical staffs supposed to take care of patients? My boyfriend got so sick last night and went into the emergency. He had so bad headache, sore throat, muscle pain and difficulty breathing. He got sent home by the receptionist to take Nurofen (my boyfriend told her that he had been taking Panadol but nothing help) without even had a chance to see doctor. We ended up had to drive to Bacchus Marsh emergency cause he was so suffer in pain. Shame of you guys being medical workers but risking people’s life!

I would give it minus 10 if it would let me people in pain sucking on green whistles laying on the er waiting room floor leaving patients out in the waiting room whilst Dr & nurses r huddled around a desk drinking coffee laughing & joking when there are empty bays to place patients only to leave them to sit for no less than 6 hours. It's a disgrace

Had the interesting opportunity to observe the staff of the ED for several hours recently and I came to the conclusion that the nurses on the whole are not very talented or skilled and most likely wouldn’t be able to secure job in a metropolitan hospital or any reputable hospital for that matter. Most of the senior nurses have been promoted well beyond their level of competence. Rude, detached, poorly communicated, to say the least. It’s a broken hospital like all of Victoria’s hospitals very sad to see. It’s obviously toxic from the top.

I’m totally confused at all the bad reviews about this hospital.
I spent 6 weeks at this hospital with septic bowel emergency and was so impressed by all the staff and the way they looked after me. I had an amazing surgical team and fantastic nursing team on level 3 south & north.
The staff should be the ones complaining about how rude the feral patients are, the absolutely disgusting behaviour I saw in my 6 week stay from local & surrounding towns at the hospital was disgusting.

Trying to call on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.30pm. Main switch board not answering saying they can not take my call then call just gets cut off.
Call direct line to radiology & apparently they are closed as I’m not ringing in office hours, even though they say their office hours are from 8am to 6pm. It’s 2.30 pm!
Really not good enough for a major hospital to have no way of getting through.
