A nice place to enjoy aviation engines and history. Small museum, but anyone who is interested in aviation, may enjoy spending 1 hour here. Ticket: $10 each adult, $20 for famiy.

Karl is an amazingly talented and knowledgeable guide. For a small regional Aviation museum this one has an excellent range of display items, including 19 engines. One item, in particular, which took my eye was a working model of a wing fatigue testing rig. Recognising the need to give hands-on experience for the kids (large and small), Karl is working on modifying a Flight Simulator to work in the Museum's non-flying Cessna Skymaster (Push/Pull) aircraft.
As in most similar organisations, volunteers are in short supply.

It may not be big, but this aviation museum is packed with heaps of interesting static displays, engines and model aircraft. A great way to spend an hour or two.

Old, quirky, interesting, and smells oily. What more could an old young fellah want? John even went for a fly in his 40s era plane at the end of his day!

Ballarat Aviation Museum is an Australian aviation museum located at Ballarat Airport in Ballarat, Victoria. Among other exhibits it contains a CAC Wirraway, a Ikara anti-submarine missile, a Mignet Pou-du-Ciel, a MacFarlane (Mac Wonder), an Iskra, a PZL TS-11 Iskra and a Walter HWK 109-509 rocket engine, the type that was used to power the Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet. The Museum also has 2 Link Trainers and many aero engines including a Rolls Royce Merlin, Griffin and 747. Other exhibits include a range of cameras used for aerial photography, historical aircraft radios and photographs.
