Wonderful nested retreat only a stones throw from Melbourne.

Peaceful and serene, hot tubs, baths and spa facilities are great. Restaurant serves some of the the best Japanese dishes I've ever had

Well holy hell! The prices for 1 night could take you to and from Bali with a week's accommodation and your own personal butler!

Just spent two nights at the Balinese resort. Staff were lovely, informative, helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Treatments were private and relaxing, food was tender, cooked to perfection and delicious. Facilities were absolutely lovely. The villa was private and amazingly size to unwind and escape. Highly recommended.

Wow! From start to end from service to facilities to the food.what a great experience. The Balinese retreat was so romantic and private. The grounds are well looked after the greeny was beautiful to wake up to every morning. The Arabian experience was also amazing. I recommend this place 5 star. The Balinese hut itself also was very spaious. Also adding to property was a private hot tub. Thankyou to staff that looked after us during our stay.

The beautiful things about this place are the grounds (stunning) and the heated floors in the villa. There are four villas so the space is generous for each. And that’s where it stops. This was the most unfortunate stay we have had anywhere.
* We’ve sent my parents on a retreat in the past - they were contacted several days before they arrived to let them know how best to prepare and make the most of the experience. We had absolutely no idea what to expect (and other guests staying at the retreat confirmed the same).
* in villas this size, you expect a tour. We had no idea half of it existed. There is actually so much more to see behind the bedroom and bathroom. There is a small kitchenette, a huge sitting room and a sauna in a generously sized backyard. The sitting room smells like it hasn’t been used in a long time. It's musty and dark.
* We went for our massages - we weren’t asked what kind we wanted, we just received some kind of general body massage. The masseuses were really pleasant but we felt that it wasn’t a very professional experience.
* There seems to be a disconnect between the management and the grounds - the place is beautiful and you feel relaxed until you notice how stressed the staff are. They are constantly rushing to do tasks. Not very serene. We watched management eye roll and berate staff in front of us. So uncomfortable and unprofessional, particularly as we were the only guests in the room. The staff member was being berated because the manager wanted to know what she was doing. The staff member hadn’t stopped working whilst serving us. She was so pleasant and polite.
* The staff members don’t seem to be trained well - hence the disconnect and lack of good communication between staff. One staff member told us we’d be served breakfast in the room and then someone came to our room at 10am the next morning to say we’d been misinformed and we’d better head up to breakfast because we weren’t, in fact, getting it in our room.
* We’d paid for lunch and dinner was included in our anniversary package (no congratulations for this, but the package included strawberries and champagne - poorly executed). We couldn’t make dinner as we’d had other plans - they said nothing would be done about dinner to make up for it. They rescheduled yum cha for the next day however this was when we had our very late breakfast due to their miscommunication. The food was bland, the salmon limp, the rice dry and badly cooked. It was an unpleasant breakfast.
* We came to check out and explained the situation. The manager just said, ‘I have other customers to serve, I’ll get someone to call you. ’ We’d been served first. Do you normally stop service with one customer to serve another?
* The manager called later to inform us we wouldn’t be refunded because it’s ‘company policy’. However, she did inform us that they generously wouldn’t charge us for ironing clothes which apparently is common practice in many hotels. Perhaps she thought we hadn’t travelled much. In any case I can confirm in every single hotel/accommodation we have ever stayed at, an iron has been provided in the room (not at this place), alternatively they have ironed for us without any charges. It is not common practice to charge for ironing.
If you take anything from this, please understand there is nothing more grating for a customer to hear than something has been done because it’s ‘company policy’. You are humans, not machines. You make errors and should rectify them in the hope that we will tell others how well you handled the situation. Instead I am here telling future guests, please remember to ask for complimentary ironing services and a tour. Also ask whether they actually have a massage menu, and ask whether the food will be served at a time convenient for you (and whether it will be delicious). But perhaps save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere you don’t have to do any of those things.

Balinese Villa Spa Retreat

Amazing Lovers Escape 2-night Stay!
From arrival to departure treated like royalty. On arrival we were greeted and checked in at the reception to be then taken to a cocktail bar where we relaxed with a glass of wine looking over the magnificent views of trees lorikeet birds flying in for an afternoon feed.
We started our stay with a yummy Yum Cha and our gorgeous waitress who looked after our every need. The reception staff came back to complete our breakfast and tell us all about what was to happen during our stay. We were then whisked to the spa which was like a place you would find in Dubai. When we walked in, we were greeted by a therapist that seated us and we discussed the treatment although what was explained was just so much more. I recommend the Arabian Journey as it was hours of pure bliss.

We were picked up and taken to our first night in the private Bali Villa with an amazing romantic room with roses and petals scattered over our bed a lovely bathroom with a huge window looking over a feature garden, a kitchen that we could use to cook but we felt not necessary as they thought of everything. Full of little treats for us and a coffee machine big plus!
We were able to snuggle together on one of large day beds at the back in the large lounge room and watched a move on Foxtel, drank wine and enjoyed a cheese platter.
Oh yes, pure bliss unfortunately we had to move on to enjoy the happy hour after total relaxation we had a short stroll to be greeted for a pre-dinner cocktail which was so good we had two. We sat again looking over the garden and as night fell the garden and trees came alive with by coloured lights.

Dinner service by two gorgeous waitress that explained the food and the wine. (To mention a great selection and you can take a bottle to your room)

We had Yellow fin Tuna and salad followed by poached coconut chicken with lemongrass and almond mango tart for our dessert, but then to follow that we got a birthday cake and a card. Nice touch

After a lovely dinner we strolled down the hill to immerse ourselves in our steaming hot tub and sip champagne under the stars.
Day 2
Waking up in our amazing room (King Size Bed) we opened the large doors to hear a waterfall outside thinking about the day and what we would do next. Breakfast! Fresh juice and Main Event wow talk about brilliant food! Back to soak in the hot tub then back to the spa for a facial which we booked in the morning over breakfast. So easy just strolling in bathrobes from your room to the spa. We were so happy they moved all our luggage to the Japanese Retreat while we were busy being pampered!
So, when we finished, we were transported to Japan all without jetlag….

We had a totally different outlook of expansive lawn and a feature lake while on our deck in the sunken hot tub under our large umbrella sheltered from some light rain which just made it so much more!
Our bathroom also had a Japanese spa bath with a feature garden that we did not use but we will next time!

We then fished with some wine and a board game and read a little book that shared guests own person experiences. We decided to leave our own message to all the staff for showing us an amazing relaxing time but had to share with you all that it’s well worth the visit to this amazing hidden Gem!

With great wineries in the area the reception staff arranged a car and we headed out for dinner our second night which was lovely but after our first night’s dinner we wished we had stayed at the resort after hearing from other guests the next day of what they had for dinner.

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience we will share with our friends and family and see you again soon

Best wishes,
Di & Matt

I booked the Bali Spa Retreat to propose to my girlfriend. It was an amazing experience that was well worth it, the staff treated me and my fiance with the best possible service and were very accommodating. The quality of food at there resturant was excellent. The Bali hut was a level of luxury that I will never forget and most importantly she said yes. Thanks Guys!

Cannot say enough about this place. The staff are professional and so lovely. The scenery is amazing! We had the two night stay and had so much space to ourselves with total privacy. The experience at the spa with massage was incredible. I can't fault the massage.was absolute bliss! The five course meal, 3 course meal and breakfast for the two mornings were absolute perfection! If that's not enough, you have your own hot tub to relax in after dinner or you can have a spa in the bathroom overlooking the greenery during the day. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed! We hope to go again.

The Balinese style room is the only one in this retreat. The price is a bit high but it is worth it. It is luxury. The whole area just belongs to you! The most important thing I care about is privacy only ducklings around. Our highlight is Roman Bathhouse which is like going into another world. I wish I could have more money to stay longer.
