Great food & coffee, excellent customer service. Love Badger & Hare for the family friendly atmosphere. They have dine-in and takeaway options available. Occasionally they have live music & a local pizza food truck on Sundays as well.

Badger & Hare the best little find for a relaxing catch up and coffee. Food is amazing, coffee is divine. I booked a small group of 6 for my 50th and couldn't of asked better service, scrumptious lunch, and they had even organised a beautiful cake! So nice to then venture outdoors in the lovely gardens for a drink and chat.
I would highly recommend anyone wishing to have a great dining experience to visit Sophie and her crew at the Badger &Hare in Stratford.

Such a cosy little place with really great food! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Wish I could give the food a 500000 star rating so delicious. Best cakes I've had in a long time, awesome selection of cheese, and whoever is cooking in the kitchen makes amazing dishes. Had the chicken dumplings, burger and risotto as mains and couldn't rate then highly enough.

Really like that menu isn't overwhelming either, sitting just inside the open doors with a courtyard view was the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday lunch!

Having stayed Saturday night at the Avon River Inn, the choice for Sunday breakfast had to be B & H. It was popular with the townsfolk of Stratford. I was glad they could seat our group of 7 at 9am
Limited options proved to be tasty ones. My pieces of Banana bread came with chocolate butter. Yum!

Highly recommend for coffee - the food is also excellent. Crunchy chips and a lot of home made elements. Team is friendly and the atmosphere is homely and welcoming.

Holy moly the cheese toasties are exceptional here! We sat out the back in the courtyard with the fruiting lemon trees

Beautiful spot, seating seems to never end. Sat 17 of us and the coffee and food came out quite quickly and it was delicious! I had an iced choccy with the waffles and they were great! I also tried the eggs Benny and that was amazing as well! Well done to the team. Especially for the great service, thank you team

Great place overall. Excellent coffee which is most important, but the food was also great.

If you haven't been for a while, go, there is now a bar open out the back of the main area that is nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. Great place to relax on a warm day or evening.

We were excited by the cute outdoor courtyard and menu but that was the extent of the positives. Service was slow and food was missing components that were included on the menu, worse, when we spoke to team member she did nothing about it. We were so hungry we ate it anyway. We mentioned it again when paying and another team member offered a disinterested apology. Disappointing experience. ️

This was so impressive! The restaurant is beautifully styled both inside and out. The food was just what we wanted. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming. We loved that our dog was welcomed too.

Great coffee and a nice spot for a stop. Playground nearby for kids. Gippsland Rail Trail close too for cyclists.

The courtyard is a lovely place to sit. A hot tip: toast, scrambled egg, + homemade baked beans. It is off-menu but an absolute classic for vegetarians (not vegans).

A great trendy cafe spot with popular dishes, gluten free options, friendly staff and a mini gift shop to purchase local jams, candles, artwork etc.

Good coffee, vegans, don't bother with the food. I ordered one of the only vegan options on the breakfast menu, smashed avocado. The menu said vegan option available. What came out was a single piece of toast, mashed avocado, another slice of avocado on top and some undressed rocket. It's pretty hyperbolic to call that a vegan option for $22.

Gorgeous location—a real hidden gem with beautiful outdoor seating areas featuring tasteful, whimsical decorations that allow the trees, flowers and immaculate green lawn to take centre stage; an on-trend bar out back ; very charming, comfortable interior, and stylish, clean bathrooms. Artistically presented quotes add a distinctly gentle, contemplative but also playful vibe. Friendly staff, and punctual service. 5 stars for the location. 4 stars because the food, while very good, is perhaps not as delicious as some similar venues who would be the best in the field across Melbourne. The coffee looked great but we didn't try it. We had burgers, soup and kids' meals.

I accidentally left our baby bag here whilst travelling through on holidays and the manager was so kind, understanding and helpful, they express posted the bag to our next destination.

A 5 star rating system doesn't communicate this level of service. We are so grateful for your help and the fantastic breakfast.

Whilst I think we bought the rain with us from Melbourne, it did not dampen the beautiful breakfast and chai we had. They accommodated us and our dog, great service, great food and a beautiful courtyard area to sit and escape the rain. Thank you!

Ordered the burger they were out of burgers so I ordered the lasagne they were out of lasagne ordered the dumplings needless to say I had to stop for a burger on the way home
