Babajis Kerala Kitchen South Indian Restaurant Warburton reviews
19So happy Babajis have opened in the Valley. Delicious, fresh food every time. As regulars my family and I see the sweat, tears and smiles put in by the team day in and day out. Thank you thank you thank you!
Food is nice but staffs are not friendly, poor customer service, dirty tables, long wait time for food. Especially for Chicken momo we waited for one hour but it comes after our desserts.we won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone and we won’t come back to this restaurant again.
After a nice drive through the mountain ranges around Warburton, if you are in the mood for some nice Indian food you are in the right place. Spicy food, great service and nice ambience. Lots of parking nearby. You will it.
This was utter chaos. While the food was fine and the staff were trying their best, it was clearly poorly organised. The staff didn't know where the tables were, it was excessively noisey and you couldn't get anyones attention. We ended up getting our meals in containers to eat at home. Such a shame because we had heard good things.
Been waiting to have dinner here and it certainly didn’t disappoint, food was delicious and staff were amazing we will be back for sure
We’d read great things about you, and started following you on FB when we heard you were opening at the bottom of our hill in Warburton - We’ve been away, but finally got to visit on Saturday evening - We loved it. Great service, great food - We had a Thali and the Biryani, and will return again to try those dosas! Thanks for being here! And thanks to Holly for serving us so well!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Babajis on our weekend away at Warburton. Food was delicious with a great drink selection and kids menu. Staff were friendly, although the service was a little slow. It was a long weekend though, so we didn't mind. We'll definitely be back!
The atmosphere was like a party, everyone was excited about the food which tastes like the real thing. Reminded me of my childhood when families got together at special functions.
This long awaited addition to the Warburton dining landscape does not disappoint. We enjoyed a delicious Sadya (Highly recommend as you can enjoy a sample of many authentic dishes) and the best butter chicken you’ll ever experience. Congrats to Billy and the team on the recent one hat award from the Good Food Guide. So deserved. Awesome location by the river.
I know Babaji's well but their new restaurant in Warburton is a whole new level of fabulousness! Husband won't usually go out for his birthday but he made an exception for Babaji's - and it did not disappoint! He had a thali and stuck to Chicken Chettinand which he'd had before plus Parotta and he was very happy with it all - only slightly upset there was no Lamingtons milk shake. I had the fish curry which was yummy, with loads of sauce thickened with, I think, ground cashews. We shared Pani Puri Bombs which are always interesting - and spicy! The place is so pretty - every detail perfect - and I was happy that we visited soon after they opened. The staff were all just lovely - and still learning but all supporting each other beautifully. And then to come out to sunset on the banks of the Birrarung or Yarra River with birds singing! The best bit of all was that the music was just loud enough that we couldn't hear the dogs barking in the car - what a relief! Of course the very best bit was that we were honoured to have Billy overseeing it all - and sorting out the inevitable hiccups without a fuss. We'll be back - if we can get a table!
Food was really good and so were the drinks. Service still getting up and running. The venue looked amazing and had a buzz. So happy to have this as a local.
We had such a ball for a date night. Soooo goood. If you're reading this.get the Pani Puri Bombs.
The wait for this highly anticipated addition to the Warburton culinary scene was long and the expectation high but Babaji's delivered. The curries were strong and delicious, the indian bread and tasting dish great too. Place was busy and the dishes were on the table in no time. We are definitely coming back.
Outstanding curries, flavours perfected and authentic. Interesting drinks with and without alcohol, and the venue itself is gorgeous and unique. Can't wait to go back actually
What a delight to visit. The food is excellent, staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and it's in a great location away from the main Warburton strip.
We had a great time with friends and they all enjoyed themselves and I am planning to go back soon.
Let’s start with location, it’s was nature full drive to this place. The ambience will remind you going to grandma place in childhood, it’s definitely a drive down memory lane with furniture and decor we all have seen growing up. It’s cozy environment in middle of warburton surrounded with lush trees and mountains and with picture perfect views. It Is very nice and well balanced.
Wide palette of regional varieties.
Savories very very good, sweets were too good like gulag jamun Checks all six tastes - sweet, sour, salt, bitter, pungent and astringent.
More balanced spices. They did not let chilly overpower dishes. That was great as we could taste all other ingredients also.
Food was very salty and pricey, some staff were good while the woman at the bar didn’t even ask if I enjoyed my meal while taking payment & also doesn’t have the greatest customer service.
We've been waiting for the opening for Babajis Warburton for a long time. We were not disappointed - a great experience! As I am Indian from Chenai and have visited Kerala, I can say our experience was amazing - the food was authentic and delicious. Can't wait to visit again.
