Nothing sus about Baba Sus. Chilled out relaxed space with a unique and delicious Asian focussed brunch menu. Sort of like a Hong Kong Cafe which migrated to Australia and got a local accent. Comfortable, easy, cool. Highly recommended.

Been coming here since it opened, most delicious egg waffles I’ve ever had. Warm custard and cold green tea ice cream on a fluffy waffle. Certainly recommend.

Whether you like the food or not depends on what mindset you have when you approach the food. I am Asian, so I prefer breakfasts that are light and don't sit in your stomach like a lead weight.

They don't advertise themselves as an Asian breakfast place, rather "Asian inspired", so I guess that the totally disproportionate amount of fat and protein in relation to carbs is OK. For an Asian this is way too much fat and protein for breakfast and it really fills you up.

If I put aside Asian expectations for breakfast and compare it to other Melbourne style breakfast cafes, this place is really good. Dishes are innovative and creative, and quite different and difficult to pigeonhole. For example, the Hong Kong style waffles hits the right notes with the texture, but the toppings are definitely for Western palates. The Pork belly may have Asian flavours (a rather odd combination of kimchi, soy sauce, rocket, and quinoa), but it is way too rich to be eaten on its own. The chef likes to experiment and.ummm. I guess that it sort of works. I would prefer less pork belly and more kimchi though.

Everything tastes good if you put away your expectations and bias. The coffee is excellent, and the staff friendly and efficient.

The food was so good with very reasonable prices.the only thing i reckon could have been a little cheap was the baba bao but apart from that it was all great! Lovely little cafe

The food is ok but there is 10 % surcharge on weekdays and 15 % surcharge weekend. I feel it is too much surcharge.

Overall was okay
My hongkong egg waffle is the best I have ever had. Cant imagine how well green tea would go with berries and custard
However, my vietnamese coffee was quite disappointing, it was not strong enough, you suppose to press the coffee firmly so the coffee dripping down would be strong enough
Should change your salt shaker lol, quite hard to get the right amount of salt
My egg toast was alright, quite average.
Might come back for the waffle
My ice coffee taste like flat white, too bland

A really local suburban cafe located on a back street. I wouldn't have found this without the recommendation of a friend. Lovely bright corner light filled cafe with a take away coffee window. Indoors and outdoor dining at small tables and along window on raised benches. Friendly and efficient service. High chairs available. Several patrons sat outside with their dogs. Food was delicious. I had the Wagyu beef burger. I would like to try the Japanese cabbage with corn fritters next time which my friend had. I could actually taste the matcha in the iced matcha tea with ice cream. A perfect little dining spot. Wheelchair accessible but might involve moving the tables around a bit to accommodate.

Food was fantastic. Floor staff all looked like they would rather be elsewhere. Waitress was angry when asking for a menu or placing an order.

Favourite cafe. The "hangover" for breakfast should definitely be the first thing you try here.

If you like something different that standard “modern” cafe, Baba Sus did not disappoint! You need to try their crispy pork belly! Just look at the photos that I posted. Hig portion too. We also ordered the omelette, so yummy. I have been so many cafes and lately they offered similar food OR the portions are too small We will definitely come back.

Love this place! The egg waffles with custard, matcha ice cream and raspberry coulis is amazing. Honestly I haven't tried anything else on their menu but its worth it for that alone. I've taken a few dates on there and one of them is going to be my future wife now. Great memories here. Love it!

This isn't your Melbourne cookie cutter typical breakfast like 99.9% of breakfast/lunch places. Baba Sus sets itself apart and offers a fantastic, diverse menu, which includes sweet, savoury and all else. Nothing is misplaced, nothing needs to be added or removed; It's just right. Please, check out their menu to know what I mean.
The coffee is consistent, fast-served and delicious. The kitchen is open, so you can see the chefs carefully preparing your meal. I've been here around 10 times and it is always the same - fantastic. This has re defined Melbourne food, which to me has been stagnant since 2010 and frankly, boring.

I really like this place. Great food, coffee, and nice ambience. The only minor recommendation would be more comfortable chairs (too hard and cold.sorry).

Best cafe in Melbourne. The food and service is outstanding. Glen Iris is lucky to have a cafe like this!

Great service. I've had the Wagyu burger here before and it was tremendous. The piglette omelette was good too for a breakfast option

Great crunchy chips. Creamy coffee. Eggs Benedict but not as you know it. Deeelicious!
A little bit noisy though but bearable.

An Asian fusion cafe with delicious food in a tranquil setting.
Don’t forget to grab a coffee too

Tucked away in a quiet street, this café remains bustling on the weekend. Loved the latte art on my hot choccy but also devoured the ornate Hong Kong Egg Waffles that was topped with the green tea ice cream - and not to sweet to my surprise!

Wish I had the hangover ramen before they switched to their summer menu, but there will be another time!
