A quality Indonesian food den for people who are familiar with style and presentation. Most menu items are under 20 dollars still and the food is damn tasty and authentic. A good feed any time you go.
Oh my gosh! The Ayam Geprek is to die for. Comes with sambal garlic which is spicy and tastes heavenly. It’s basically battered fried chicken. I ordered with some rice and it was a wholesome meal. Would love to try other dishes soon.
Today my husband and I walked into this small Indonesian food place for lunch and enjoyed the best Indonesian food we ever had. This small take away place with a few tables to eat in is on the 3rd floor of Dandenong Plaza shopping centre. We ordered a fried chicken plate and a beef grill plate. Each plate came with accompanied fried tofu, tempeh, salad and the most delicious hot sambal or satay sauce. The fried chicken was moist inside and crispy outside and very delicious. The beef was the stand out. It was cooked to perfection and the most tastiest. I am so glad we discovered this neat, clean and lovely place that serves the most delicious food.
First try in Noble Park outlet was good, but in Dandenong outlet the chicken was dry, tasted so bad & small portions.
I had a lovely authentic Indonesian lunch at Ayam Penyet Ria in Dandenong Plaza on the weekend. Their signature dish of fried “smashed” chicken was impressive and reasonably priced. The chicken was juicy and tender. There was a mysterious but delicious crunchy coating with lots of herbs and spices - couldn’t quite put my finger on it but it most certainly did not bother me. The fried tofu and tempeh (fermented soybeans) were a great accompaniment. The sambal was quite a tingly experience - spicy, savoury and full of flavour.
Then came the chicken satay. The chicken had a lovely smoky flavour which married well with the peanut sauce. It looked a bit messy on the plate but sometimes messy is good! ️
Tried their Ayam Penyet and it's the worst piece of "food" I've ever tasted. Dry as a bone, stiff as rocks and no flavour to speak of other than flaming HOT which wasn't even on the description. I went in hungry enough to eat a horse ajd didn't even finish a quarter of it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY.
Great foods, love the prawn crispy! And Soto Ayam is great. The Beef empal tender, even my husband love it. I did try most of the food in their menu. I went to this restaurant several time.
Wife and kids loved it. Cooked the stuff really well. Staff very friendly and happy to see us. The smile makes a difference. We had Ayam penyet, ayam geprek, bibs, soto ayam. Will be back
Only tried the Ayam soto. It is delicious but too expensive. $9 for a very small bowl. I believe their main star dish is the Ayam pennet. Do give them a try. Would be good if the soup noodles can be treated as a main dish with a bigger serving
We tried this with low expectations after many dissapointments in other indonesian restaurants in melbourne.turned out this restaurant is a jewel.we tried soto and ayam geprek.flavorful and autentic! Will definitely come again
