Auto Paris service centre reviews
26 After one year long work, my car is finally not drivable.
See you in the court.
Avoid at all cost.
Brought in my car for a starter motor problem and clear up the mass of the wiring.
Put my car outside on grass to rust and keep telling me “we ll start working on it next week” for almost an year. Each time ringing them Paul can list out all kinds excuses why still not starting and every time is the same.
Later been told that my engine wasn’t cranking after being parked for so long for whatever reason and took off the spark plugs and coils exposing the cylinders to the outside moisture since then.
Now the car s rusty and no better than a pile of junk now so Paul decided to ask his insurance to pay for their damage without providing any information to them yet still worrying about their reputation.
Too bad there’s no such a thing as zero star.
Ordered exhaust bushes for my 182 back in February, order never arrived. Asked numerous times for a refund which has not happened, terrible communication and service from Paul.
Worth travelling 2 hrs from country Vic to access expert accurate diagnosis and prompt repair at fair costs.
I have had 3 dealings with Paul to bring an RS172 Clio that I originally bought as spares for my competition car up to scratch as a nice daily driver.
1st he sorted non functioning heating and air conditioning.
2nd he fitted later model factory style cruise control in the steering wheel.
3rd sorted rear wheel bearings and missing spacers issues.
All with a minimum of fuss and a smile. I am a very satisfied customer.
Paul and chris from Auto-Paris are true masters of their craft! Took my car there to have timing belt and water pump done and the guys did an awesome job at a reasonable price and really took care of me and the car. I really appreciate the guys going above and beyond. Well worth taking my car to these guys. You’d rather have the job done by reputable craftsman like this than take it somewhere that cuts down on costs by doing dodgy work. Highly Recommend! -Kosta
I took my car here quite a few times over a roughly 2 year period, but ultimately found that every service - even the basic ones had extras which amounted to hundreds of dollars extra and meant every time I went I was paying on average around $700.
For example, I was advised to replace the steering tie bar almost every service and told by the assistant mechanic Kenny my car type "chewed through them, " so I agreed to them being replaced at least twice, maybe more. My experience was the extra's were put to me by Kenny as 'immediate' fixes in a way to upsell, rather than explaining what could wait and what was urgent as I have since experienced from more ethical service centres.
Only when I pushed back after the first couple times of the tie bar changes and asked what leaving it would do did I realise how I was being treated - after a bit of pushing and probing, Kenny conceded it just meant minor tyre wear for a bit until it gradually got worse. I then put to him that changing only slightly worn tie bars meant I was paying hundreds of dollars extra to basically stop a bit of tyre wear, then he backed down and told me it could wait.
Anyway, I did not experience any major defects as others have, I just didn't appreciate the approach to upselling, which in my experience was unethical and not truly customer focussed and this is why I chose to stop going.
*Note I - didn't have much luck afterwards either, I think French cars must attract a certain type of mechanic ;)
*Note II - in response to Paul's reply: Kenny opperated in your workshop Paul, under your guidance and I dealt with you as well. I think this review helps puts negative reviews in context particularly given the push I experienced to upsell rather than provide ethical advice.
They did a good job back in the day but they f-ed up by not tightening a bolt so I had an oil leak and instead of doing the right thingans accepting they stuffed up they charged me $140 labour for it. Haven't been back since and won't ever again. This was some while ago but I now live 5 mins from them.
I don't normally praise mechanics, but these guys deserve it!
My 2011 Renault Master went into a dismal limp mode and I drove it straight there. They had the first issue fixed within a couple of hours (blocked DPF). After collecting it, we also found the EGR valve was no longer working properly, so they replaced that too. I also had the oils changed and they found the trans had low oil level (previous mechanic didn't do it right).
I later took my Koleos in for a major service, the poor thing was in a very sad state. But the guys took it in, did everything to bring it beck to running nicely. All fluids, brakes, and filters replaced with no hassle at all.
Most other places see "Renault" and start scratching their heads, but not this place.
Paul knows clios and any other french car down to the nuts and bolts, highly recommend him for any mechanical work needed on your Renault/Peugeot!
Paul is a cosumate professional, has great knowledge and skills as a mechanic, super friendly and very generous considering the excellent work that he does. My RS250 feels like new after the suspension, engine mounts and service B that he performed. I'd recommend Auto Paris to any French sports car enthusiast! Thank you Paul.
Utterly impressed with the service and repair of our much used but sadly neglected Peugeot 307 because of severe financial issues where Paul managed to work on our vehicle despite the problems it gave him.
The care and dedication to the details of the repair was astounding and I implore anyone with a French made vehicle to use Paul and his team for services and repairs.
Would highly recommend Auto Paris for anyone with a Renault after 3 failed attempts from other Renault specialists and Renault themselves and not having a car for over 2months Paul diagnosed the problem with my car within a day and fixed the problem very happy with the service and provided a loan car as well Paul's passion for these cars shows thanks once again

Just had my services done on my clio. Run very smoothly after service. The owner is very knowledgeable and knows about French car. Dogs at the garage are friendly too. Highly recommended.
Called in from WA, Paul was happy to help me over the phone and diagnose the problem - After we had worked out what the issue was he didnt try to sell me the most expensive parts or anything along those lines, he simply asked the right questions of what i use the car for and recommended the right parts to upgrade/fix as we use our 182 for motorkhanas.
He was also happy to have a conversation about his love for the CUP 182's which i enjoyed.
Will be buying more from Paul in the future. Excellent service.
The Team at Auto Paris were very helpful in diagnosing the issues with my car and got it to run well again. Would recommend the team at Auto Paris
Personal one on one service with wealth of knowledge on European vehicles. A Renault specialist. A1!
Paul has been servicing my various French car for nearly 20 years. He has a wealth of experience & knowledge on french cars.
Not only he always does a great service, the charges is honest & reasonable.
Highly recommended
Awesome service from Paul & Jordan. Went in for an aux belt problem and found a lot more was wrong. Fixed all the problems (and asked each time if it was okay to go ahead) and the car now drives great. Definitely a recommendation for your Pug/Renault.
Please don't take your car there, first they changed few parts for my car befor they confirmed with me! And then I paid more than $1500 dollars to get fix the pollution system fault, but the light is still on my dash and they didn't take responsibility for that! And then they told me my breaks and brakes disks need to be replace as soon as possible but I show my car recently to the Peugeot in city and I find out there was NOTHING wrong with my brakes!
