This trip along the Camino Porto to Santiago was awesome. We met great people, drank too much, and ate heartily! Auswalk put together an awesome holiday! We immersed ourselves in the local cuisine and culture, and loved it. And I am now a fan of Estrella beer!

Admin a bit unorganised and communications poor prior to walking. However, Great Ocean Walk was fabulous. Guides, food and accommodation were all excellent.

By chance, like GWs review four months ago, I also had an unforgettable experience in the Katherine Clubs bistro.

I was on the Top End trip – was that my 6th trip with Auswalk? On the first day our guides Gavin and Denise shouted us to a terrific morning tea and lunch, with trainee guide Kathleen entertaining us on the piano. Later that night the flying foxes made such a racket from 12am to 5am- just as they stopped the magpie geese took over! – the kaleidoscopes of great experiences continued day after day.

As to the Katherine Club dinner…. As we lined up to order the PA announcer, who never stopped talking loudly, promoting meat raffles etc, advised that due to covid supply issues they had no food, and on top of that covid illness issues meant few kitchen staff could work. We were about the last to order what food was left and did other patrons a favour – the inedible twin rissole meal was one to remember! Still, it was a fascinating night not to be missed – Katherinites were obviously enjoying themselves, the Bundy Rum and Coke flowed, and an ex Territorian during ‘dinner’ told me a long, tall, fantasy tale of a FA18 crashing into the Katherine supermarket. Now who was that?

We had a wonderful four days walking the Great Ocean Road on a guided walk with Brett and Rebecca as our guides. Auswalk had everything organised perfectly and I really cannot think of anything that could have been done better. Everything was spot on - including the accommodation, meals and itinerary, all delivered in a friendly, flexible and encouraging way. Now I am off to browse through the walks that Auswalk has on offer in the next twelve months - we will definitely be going on an Auswalk again soon.

You do not know what you don’t know. AusWalk took all the uncertainty and stress out of planning our walk. We have just completed the Portuguese Camino. AusWalk went out of their way to provide the itinerary we wanted for our self guided walk. Their service providers in Portugal and Spain exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were exceptional and provided the rest and rejuvenation required each night to complete each stage of the 14 day walk. The personalised walking notes were invaluable and certainly ensured the best experiences and hassle free days.

Having just returned from walking the 3 Capes in Tasmania I wanted to express my gratitude to Jessie, Tash and the whole team at AUSWalk. From our initial inquiry right through to the end of our walk, the process was seamless. The AUSWalk team was incredibly professional, helpful and knowledgeable. In particular, it really was remarkable how organised the walk was - you have thought of everything and there was nothing for us to do or worry about - it afforded us the luxury and headspace to just turn up and enjoy the stunning walk. Special mention needs to go to your Welcome Kit with maps and booklets detailing every stage of our walk, the seamless pick ups and drop offs by your team in Tasmania, the exceptional accommodation at Stewarts Bay Lodge, the food at On The Bay Restaurant, and your lovely team - especially Jessie. I loved every minute of my experience with AUSWalk and could not recommend you more highly. Interestingly, we met walkers who were hiking with other trekking companies and the experiences they shared with us were far less impressive than AUSWalk - we have told them to walk with you next time! I will be a return customer and can't wait to explore your other hikes.

Hard to know where to start when raving about Auswalk. We did the long weekend Great Ocean Walk (Oct 2022). Brett and Rebecca as our guides. The service was superb from start to finish. The accommodation and food was excellent and the walking was superb. What’s most impressive is that Auswalk has genuinely made this so easy because they really understand their customers. They have planned the best walks in the time available and have scouted really good food and accommodation options. Even when things don’t go to plan they improvise to make it a great experience anyway. Brett and Rebecca were great guides, highly professional and fun. We will book much more with Auswalk in Australia and Overseas.

The whole trek was well planned and our guides where excellent that look after you so well even with a group you felt that you had your own private guide. Nothing was too hard for them and they accommodate what ever you wanted to do.
The overall experience was excellent and rewarding as well
Thanks so much to the team the Guides and all the staff at Auswalk you are doing an awesome job

My husband and I recently did the Great Ocean Walk. Good hike - nice changes from ocean views to forest trails most days. Saw kangaroos, koalas, snakes! Accommodation was comfortable.
If you are vegan just a note - although we were told vegetarians and vegans could be catered to, you actually just get 'lesser' that everyone else i.e. Other hikers get bacon, eggs, mushrooms for brekky - you'll just get the mushrooms - no other extras and no more quantity of mushrooms than the others get. One restaurant had no vegan main meal options at all and I was told to ask the waiter if they could make something into a vegan meal for me. Not right when were told could be catered to - would have preferred they were honest up front and advised only limited vegan options.
Georgie was great as a guide as she is a local and has lots of local knowledge.
Unfortunately we did not get the included Indigenous historian interpretive walk which was very disappointing as we were really looking forward to that as a highlight of the trip.
Hike can be challenging at times - be aware there are a lot of steep inclines and declines almost every day - good boots recommended! Katie had great first aid kit for foot issues!
Unfortunately for us it rained first 3 days but we were lucky it came good at the end for the 12 Apostles. Would advise to pack good rain gear including waterproof bags inside your daypack as even with a cover for our daypacks the contents got wet through.
Guides did their best to make it a fun trip even in the rain - just very disappointed with the vegan food options (or non-options!) and not getting the Indigenous guide that is advertised as an inclusion on this walk.

I would never travel with this tour company having observed very poor etiquette of the tour leaders. We were in a long bistro queue in a club and a tour leader in front of us then invited 12 people to join them in the queue to order. I was furious as were the patient patrons behind me. This was at the Katherine Club Northern Territory. Completely unacceptable behaviour.

Highly recommended! We have completed a few self-guided walks with Auswalk and have been very impressed. Great options for self-guided walks, well-organized itineraries, excellent accommodation, food, and transport options. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Thank you to the team!

A friend and I did the 4 day Three Capes self-guided walk in Tassie.
The walks were absolutely stunning as was the accommodation at Stewarts Bay Lodge. It was pure luxury to go for a beautiful walk each day and then just roll up to a lovely restaurant each night for dinner. The cabins themselves were lovely, with very comfortable beds and everything you could need. The staff were very friendly and kind. The walks, accommodation and meals exceeded our expectations. I would go back to Stewarts Bay Lodge in a flash.
It was also great for us to just follow the itinerary set out by Auswalks. We do a lot of walking and usually spend far too much time on apps like AllTrails trying to find the 'best' walk. It was so relaxing not having to think about anything or make any decisions.
We had one fairly big glitch, but which we were able to sort out. The description of the self-guided walk states that you and your group have 'private' transport. It's not private, even though before we paid the sales rep also confirmed to me on the phone that my friend and I would have our own car. We found out the day before the walk started that we were being put into a minibus with up to 8 other people for the whole 4 days. Sure, you don't have to actually walk with those people, but the group transport means that they will need to time the drop off and pick up times to cater for the slowest walker. If you are not one of these slow walkers, expect to finish the walk ahead of time and to hang around in the car park waiting for the others at the end of the day. (This would indeed have been the case for us. My friend and I did the walks, had a long swim in the bay on two of the three days, and finished considerably earlier than the pick up time. One day we only finished 40 minutes earlier, but the first day we finished 2 hours earlier and the last day an hour and a half earlier). We were incredibly disappointed when we found out about this the day before the walk started and decided just to hire our own car. Each of the walks begins and ends at the same car park, so that was easy enough to do. Without being asked, Auswalks refunded a portion of our fee which ended up covering most of the cost of the hire car; we were not expecting that and were very grateful. So in the end we had the best 4 days.
But I have to say this. Their first email response when I let them know that we wouldn't be using the minibus was this: "You may prefer to hire your own vehicle and drive to Stewarts Bay Lodge, however the unsealed roads are not suitable to be driven on your daily walks. Please note also that hire car companies will not allow their vehicles to be driven on such roads". I just can't fathom why the sales rep from Auswalks wrote such complete nonsense! All of the walks are very famous, heavily trafficked day walks, and begin and end in very large, sealed, car parks which are heaving with hire cars, campervans, motorbikes, toilet facilities, etc! There was a 15 minute drive on an unsealed but very high grade road on the first day, but perfectly easy for any car - and the hundreds of standard cars that make the trip every day. And yes, all perfectly OK with hire car companies. We just couldn't get our heads around that email and we wondered if it was something Auswalks had been told by their transport partner in Tassie?
Anyway, if you don't care at all about the group transport then this will be a 10 out of 10 experience. If you do care, then I'd suggest you get agreement on the transport arrangements in writing before you pay because the minibus transport is standard for Auswalks at the Three Capes, according to staff at the Lodge.

This was my first official guided hike. I was constantly impressed, grateful and in awe of our leaders. 2 incredibly talented, capable and fun women who made my whole journey seamless. They inspired me, supported me and showed me a spectacular part of our country, full of local knowledge and a deep respect for country. Thank you Auswalk, I will walk with you again.

We completed the Blue Mountains and Six Foot Track uncovered self guided walk In January. It was an amazing experience. The walks were all astoundingly beautiful, the accommodation was comfortable and well chosen and the organisation by Auswalks was perfect. This is a great way to do challenging walks and still have good food, a comfortable bed and sometimes a spa bath to come back to at the end of the day. We will definitely be doing another walk with Auswalks.

The Tasmanian Peninsula 5-Day Self-Guided - Three Capes walks were fabulous. We also loved the comfort and food at Stewart Bay Lodge and Heather Henri's transfer services provided by Phil and Mick.
A really great service and well planned and selected full one-day walks. Walks were mostly challenging, but we had the spare energy needed. Only 15 minute light shower on Day 1 walk and 2km walking in the clouds in sub-alpine terrain on Day 2.
Thanks - AUSWALK and partners

Auswalks curâtes a wonderful walking experience with excellent accommodation. Even though we had walked in several areas of the Blue Mountains before all the walking days included new experiences that kept it fresh for us. Recent bushfires and weather closed some parts of the walk temporarily but it was an amazing trip.
