Felt very dismissed, no assurance or confidence during the appointment. Came for specific assessment which he refused to do, I wouldn’t have driven out of my way and been $40 out of pocket for basic checkup with less care than I would have gotten with a bulk billed SpecSavers appointment. I literally could not get a clear answer to yes/no questions from him, and he had to be prompted to check my eye pressure when I’m on meds that cause hypertension.
Couldn’t even buy glasses with new script there because no one would serve you, and the receptionist had booked me in for the incorrect assessment.

30-10-23 Saw Hayley (at my request because she is extremely professional), to pick up new reading glasses. Extremely disappointed as they are almost exactly the same as my old reading glasses, the difference is fractional, and only on the tiniest of writing. Hayley was compassionate, and caring, and her customer care is 5 star, however, since there is almost zero difference between the new and old glasses, I have now come to the conclusion, the optometrists simply cannot get it right. I fel my time and theirs has been completely wasted by me returning to get a simple pair of glasses that I can read a newspaper with, without having to use a magnifying glass. I will try the new glasses as suggested when I am home, but all they are based on today is nothing more than a spare pair.
3-11-23 update, I have been using the new reading glasses, and sadly still have to use a magnifying glass to read the newspaper.

17-10-23 returned to discuss issues with reading glasses, Vicki was lovely, retested and offered explanations re some of the issues. Hayley in the area where you pick up glasses is excellent. I did get some 'fit over' sunglasses for my distance glasses which are great when driving. Will return when new glasses are ready and see what happens.

27-9-23 massive downgrade to 2 stars now. The reading glasses are horrendous! The guy I saw for fitting did not bother to introduce himself, and could not care less that the glasses were not right. I spoke to reception re.a complaint, and asked to speak to a supervisor, a Lisa volunteered to speak with me as I was very upset. Lisa took the time to find an optometrist Iris (a different one), and explained potentially why the new glasses were blurry and a host of other upsetting faults. I appreciated that Lisa and Iris took proper time to assist me, and the Liz who was helpful with fitting. Those ladies deserve 5 stars, however their service unfortunately, does not negate the fact that the glasses are not suitable, hence the 2 stars remains.
I still need to go trek back in there (a 2 to 3 hour round trip depending non traffic), in 2 weeks to discuss with an optometrist the issues, and the reasons why these glasses do not do what I need them to do. I am not at all happy about having to go back.

14-9-23,5 stars (today) Jenny and Iris (supervisor) did my eye test for new gasses. Jenny was extremely thorough, professional, explaining what she was doing and why, and able to answer all of my questions. I have not picked up my glasses yet, so potentially this review may change, (my last eye exam and glasses was done at Reservoir, and they got it wrong, leaving me with glasses I could not even use, so I went to Carlton this time). Hopefully, my glasses will be accurate and useable.

I am 81 years old and has been wearing glasses from the age of around 40 years. I have consulted numerous Optometrists during this period, but the care and service I received from X DANIELLE ZHENG (Optometrist at the clinic in Dandenong) has been the most exceptional to this date. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants very good care. Thank you.

It's a waste of money, I went there as I was recommended by someone however was highly disappointed, the optometrist didn't explain anything clearly, when I asked questions, she simply kept repeating herself, the way she told me was too complicated to understand for a normal person who is not an eye specialist.

My partner Derek Salmon is a regular visitor to this location we have always found them to be very thorough and caring as well as being just really lovely a nice young man named Kevin looked after us Thursday 8th would recommend this practice to anyone

The college needs to CALL the (NSW) govt spectacle program and ask where they source their glasses. Glasses I got from that would last years - and just as fashionable. The ones from the college within a few months already had the screw that holds the frame come loose. It's lucky I didn't lose it. As I write, its happened probably 5-7 TIMES! Recently the nose piece fell off. I never had ANY such problems before. And these cost you more! Model: VE S/RAY 51-19-140 C1. The staff are friendly and professional but the glasses are TRASH.

I cannot speak higher of him and the genuine time and care he put into my battle with keratoconus over many years. Thank you Adrian and the team at the ACO!

Customer service is absolutely disgusting. Receptionists are rude and arrogant. Booking appointments disgusting. I have had to wait a month between appointments due to no availability when trialling contacts that enable me to see.
Do not go here.

Not a reliable health service provider. Two appointments (2 days apart) got cancelled by phone calls in the morning. Same reason 'Doctor called in sick'.

I am autistic and Mina (the optomitrist I saw) was absolutely amazing. She was very thorough and also treated me and my disability support worker with kindness. She was patient with me and really person centred. I can not praise her enough. I don't know if she was trained in trauma informed care or instincts.

It was quiet with no queue first thing on Monday. Good Covid-19 procedures. Only 10 or 15 min wait, but as a pensioner I don’t have much to worry about. Choice of frames and lenses depending on your budget. 2 week wait for lenses to be made and fitted. Not a big issue. Just hope it all goes well.

The staff are professional but the same model of glasses has twice failed. Both times the screw that holds in the frame has come loose on this VE S/RAY 51-19-140 C1 model. Its a tiny screw and is easily lost. The college needs to either demand the supplier lift their game or dump them.

Have been charged $95 for eye check up, later find out is Bulk billed else where. When I send my son to pick up my glasses, realised wrong lenses installed. Had go back there again, had to force apology out from them and not even a bit of discount in order to compensate their error. Very arrogant attitude. Never again

I could not speak more highly of the service I received from the Australian College of Optometry, I was extremely happy with the thorough eye examination I received from the Optician Student Tammy and her Supervisor as well as assistance with choosing the best type of Glasses and Lenses, The service given when I picked up my Glasses was excellent by Lauren, overall I was extremely happy with the price. I will definitely be back to have any further eye examinations done when I am due for my next eye test.
This place is such a great asset to the community.

What is the point of appointments when you struggle to run the scheduled appointments and make everyone wait longer than expected. Especially when you ask clients to turn up 15min before their appointment. Disappointing service and lack of urgency shown with no respect to clients time.

Very unsatisfied with the service, I attend for Lentern test on the 16 December timing 2: 30pm after one months waiting for appointment.

The examiner who was doing the test was very rush and did the job unprofessionally and didn’t give me reasonable time for the color vision test and gave me negative result. I do not believe on the result he gave me because I never ever had issue with color vision but due to not giving me reasonable time he gave me negative result.

The only thing they care is money which I already paid and wasted my time and long waiting period and they gave negative result due to the examiner was in hurry.

I believe I have to book another appointment now somewhere else wait to do the test again and pay again.

VERY BAD SERVICE! I am very disappointed with their customer service
I ordered a frame from another store but decided to come here to have my prescription test and lens done thanks to a recommendation from an acquaintance of mine. However my experience here was very unpleasant.
On the day when I ordered my lens, the staff proceeded with the order without any explanation or further recommendations regardless of my high prescription and the large frame. I received the wrong prescribed lens on the pick-up day and had to make another appointment to wait for them redoing my lens.
After the second pick-up day, I tried wearing it to work. I had a bad headache and my vision went bad as I turned to my sides. I came back for a recheck and only then they told me that a large frame required large lens and that affected my vision. These SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED on the day of my order, NOT to be covered up this way.
I have come to a solution of changing these normal prescribed lens to a tinted prescribed lens if that helped with the situation. BUT, they covered up their bad customer service by telling me to return the frame to the original store that I got the frame from (? !) and they can’t help changing this pair into a tinted version.
I lost so much trust on College of Optometry.
