Aussie Marquees

Aussie Marquees ruined our Engagement Party. Six days prior to our event, we contacted Aussie Marquees to confirm installation time. At this stage, we were advised that the Royal Marquee we ordered and paid a $300 deposit for was no longer available, however the director of the business confirmed that a smaller Royal Marquee (for a slightly lesser price) was available and that it would be installed at 11: 30am on the day of our event. As requested, we paid the balance due prior to the function. Not only did they fail to deliver the marquee (and the three high bar tables) we paid for in full, but we did not even receive a phone call to say that they had no intention of delivering it or that it was unable to be delivered. Aussie Marquees were well aware that the marquee was specifically for our Engagement and that it was crucial that it be installed by no later than 11: 30am as the function started at 1: 30pm. On the morning of our event, the marquee was not delivered nor installed at the pre-arranged time and we frantically called the business owner on his mobile, our primary contact, numerous times for an urgent update. He did not pick up the phone, let alone return our calls. The marquee never arrived. We purchased specific decorations including fresh flowers for the marquee that went to waste and there were rainy periods throughout the day. We received an SMS towards the end of our event asking for our bank account details to arrange a refund (which was processed). We never received an apology. Have a think about whether this is the business you want to deal with for your event.

We had a similar experience to "Maz17". We had used this company 5 years ago without any issues, so we thought we'd use them again last December. BIG MISTAKE! Our pre-paid marquee was supposed to arrive at on a certain day, and it didn't. We called and called the company, and no answer. We left voicemails - not returned until that night, and they said they'd be there first thing the next morning. It got to the next day, the day of the party, and they still hadn't arrived. We had to call and call, and again we're getting no answer and no resposes to our messages. Eventually, they called and said they'd be there in an hour. An hour came and went and no sign of them? Here we are, the day of the party, waiting and waiting for this marquee, which we would then need to decorate. They eventually arrived - two younger guys who had been called in to work to set ours up, and arrived about an hour before the party was to start. The boss, who had been hiding from our calls, was never available to speak to us or give us an explanation. It was not worth the stress of being so messed around on the day of the occassion, and we will not be using this company ever again!
