Augustus Gelatery - Geelong

A combination of 2 of my most favourite things. Amazing ice cream and friendly service! Augustus had such good plant based ice cream that it's basically like the same thing tasty, smooth, and creamy. Not to mention, they have a wide variety of sorbet and plant based ice cream (as well as regular ice cream).

Great ice cream and you can ask for a small taste of everything if you wanted to try something different.service is pretty efficient and friendly, plenty of parking nearby too. We had our ice cream there, there's plenty of seating available inside and outside too.

Absolutely love this place. After my 1st visit I'm hooked. Lovely staff serving and extremely helpful. Will be returning again with my kids very soon.

It’s pretty nice but not the best in Geelong for me. Love that they open till late, though. Also, so many choices!

Absolutely delicious gelato! Lots of many flavours to choose from! I especially got one before making my way to the train station. Makes the return trip a happy one

I have visited the store in Geelong, on Gheringhap st, on multiple occasions. I have a few concerns about your management.

The staff in the store, I have no complaints about. They are friendly, open for a conversation, and even gave me helpful suggestions for flavour combos and dietary options for my lactose-intollerant friends.

Here are my concerns:
- How are the customers, let alone the STAFF MEMBERS, meant to work in such an environment? ! There is no air conditioning in that store, no ceiling fans, and hardly any air flow, even with the windows open to the street. From what they explained to me, they aren't allowed cold water from the fridge, and they have to PAY to make themselves a cold drink/ smoothie, too. The poor staff members! What would you do if they collapsed in your store? ! And, being how young some of them are, I doubt they would have first aid training.
- I've had mould in my sorbet before, which I disregarded at first, thinking it couldn't happen again. Twice now, I've had black spots in my sorbet / ice cream. Clearly there is mould in your fridges and display cabinets which needs to be removed. If it happens again, I will call the health inspectors. Not to mention the flies and bugs, too. Also in the display cases.
- I have yet to see the store manager in store, and I've been in at different times, on different days. Do they even work there? Each time I've asked if they're in, the answer has been "no. "
- I brought in cash, and was given only coins in change. From a $20 note. For one cup, tonight. They had no notes to give.
- I had to quickly use the bathroom one day, and noticed as I was walking out that there is no staff room. No space for a break. Do your staff get breaks? If so, where are they taking them? Why is there no space dedicated to the staff (tables, chairs, etc) ? That just seems unfair to expect them to either work through the breaks, or travel outside the store. Especially after 4pm, when the cafes and small stores are all closed within that area.

I am still a loyal customer, and will continue to be, because your sorbet is the best around and, despite what they have to work through, your staff are always cheery and put customers first.
However, I don't know how you expect your workers to continue to work in that environment. I am concerned for their safety and wellbeing. Because they are all such great people and I'd hate to see or hear anything happen to them.

Disgusting conditions in the Geelong store today. So hot in there my Gelato was melting as I received it, also the two girls working looked like my melting gelato. Would of been 40+ degrees in there so much for getting a cool refreshment. Will go elsewhere in future!

Great ice cream, including stacks of vegan flavours. Personal favourite is the mango and coconut.

Very competent, but lacks magic. Oddly, despite the space, light & outdoor/indoor casual ambiance, it has zero physical charm. Luckily there's a park nearby

I have been here countless times now.

The service is always awesome. Staff are super friendly, always having a smile on there faces despite how busy they might be. And always go out if there way to be helpful.

As someone that has coeliac disease and can't touch gluten, I always appreciate the extra time they give me to help out.

Ohh and the ice cream is beautiful as well

Such a great ice creamery store. They have a great selection of gluten-free/ dairy free / vegan icecreams and sorbets as well as gluten-free cones. The young gentleman with the brightly coloured hair is very helpful and always so polite and friendly.

I was served by Tanisha and Nick and their customer service is out of this world! So welcoming and friendly. The milkshake Tanisha made was absolutely amazing! 100/10. Legends

Augustus was pumping with a line out the door, eftpos card friendly polite and efficent staff. Fantastic flavours. Augustus is a must.
