Aster European Dining

Visited Aster European Dining in Port Melbourne for their special Valentine's dinner and it was an absolute delight. The fine dining experience here is unmatched, easily making it the best in the area. The evening's special featured Barramundi and rib-eye, both of which were spectacular. The Beef Carpaccio, with its Cape Grim grass-fed beef, horseradish dressing, chives, and cured egg yolk, was a standout starter. The Yellow Fin Tuna Crudo, enhanced by ginger oil and pickled daikon, was refreshingly zesty. The Burrata with spicy mushroom X. O.sauce and croutons was a beautiful blend of textures and flavours, and the Brussels sprouts dressed in burnt honey were a sweet revelation. Even the shoestring French fries were perfection. Highly recommend Aster for anyone looking to elevate their dining experience in Port Melbourne.

Dined here last night for the first time and was very impressed! The food was delicious & presented so beautifully, and the service was flawless. Great selection of wines and the pasta offering is great. So lucky to have this little gem in the heart of Port Melbourne - if you live nearby & haven’t been yet, do yourself a favour & make a booking. We will definitely be returning!

A group of 8 of us had dinner here tonight and we could not be more impressed. What a lovely restaurant and great staff - so attentive and friendly. The food. Just wow. Every dish - perfection. We could not complain about a thing! The pasta, steak, oysters, beetroot dish, kingfish. All of it. Chefs kiss. I’d have to say this restaurant is in the top 2 in all of Port Melbourne. Highly recommend for your special event, work lunch, date night, anything. Thank you to the lovely staff. You did a superb job!?

Incredible service. Food was divine. Timing of food was perfection. Great wine and cocktails and overall one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Melbourne. Where do I start…

The quality produce, the friendly staff, amazing cocktails and cozy atmosphere was exceptional.

We started off with the straciatella with the homemade focaccia which was a great way to start the night. The straciatella was fresh and the figs went hand and hand, complementing every aspect of the dish.

We then shared the southern calamari skewers which were fresh and packed with flavour alongside the preserved lemon and ink vinaigrette. The Carroza was devine, perfectly crunchy with oozing fior di latte cheese, it was simply amazing.

We also shared the Spencer Gulf King Prawns which were fresh and perfectly cooked, accompanied with green mango, chilli and lime.

For mains my partner and I shared the Orecchiette with spicy pork and fennel sausage which was one of the best sausage pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten. It was perfectly cooked and with a hint of chilli, it was absolutely delicious, you can’t go wrong.

We also shared the scotch fillet which was the special tonight. The steak came out as ordered and was perfectly tender. The French fries and cos salad went perfectly with the steak, the fries being perfectly fried and the salad fresh and zingy.

Drink wise, the Aster Cocktail and the Charlie Chaplin cocktail were my partners favourites. My favourites of the night was the amaretto sour and the south side which was made perfectly and were refreshing.

The quality of produce used at Aster is phenomenal, and totally worth every cent. The comforting service and cozy atmosphere made my partner and i feel extremely welcomed. I will definitely be returning.

A fantastic find. Good food, nice owners, lovely atmosphere. We had the pasta special, salad and dessert. Well priced and very enjoyable.

Highly recommend for a dinner or a quiet wine or 2 and the best service in hospitality I've ever encountered.

This restaurant exceeded all my expectations! The food was a work of art, beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The service was friendly and professional.
The oysters were super fresh and delicious, we loved all our entrees.
The steak tartare was one of the best I’ve had. Our Cape Grim ribeye was perfectly cooked.

The food is good, so flavoursome and filling. Honestly, you'll be rolling out that door!

I will definitely come back to try the new menu! Apparently they change it each season. My favourite dish so far is the Tartare, followed by the grilled sardine on sour dough!

Fabulous food, service and ambience. New owners (Vinoteca has morphed into Aster European Dining) are passionate about food and delivering a great experience to. The menu although small is delicious with food arriving quickly. The staff provide slick and professional service. Great wine list. We enjoyed our Friday night dinner at Aster. Highly recommend a visit.

My friend and I had a really nice meal here recently. The people were terrific, the wines good value and the food interesting. Highly recommended.
