My name is Benny and I have been visiting Dr Gin for 5 years for my severe psoriasis which I have been suffering from for 30 years. Due to the severity of the psoriasis I was suffering from depression and unbearable itching and scratching. I tried several different treatments in the past which did not work. Dr Gin introduced me to another treatment which thankfully worked and has changed my life. I could not thank Dr Gin enough! I highly recommend Dr Gin to anyone who has psoriasis!
Thanks again,
Regards Benny Rabottini

Pretty unhappy with my experience here. I had a 5minute appointment and was charged $190 and all he did was refer me to get a blood test. When I inquired about a certain cream I using I was told information that is the complete opposite to all the product information online and in the box! I trust he knows his stuff but I could not find what he told me to be true on any of the product info. A very impersonal and frustrating experience.

I’ve been suffering from eczema for a very long time now I have seen you guys a hand full of times all I can say it’s a total waste of money and no treatment that has been provided has worked at all its only made the matter worse! This is a serious problem for people suffering with the same condition mentally and physically!

For anyone looking to fix any skin conditions go see a Natropath and get to the bottom of the problem these guys just take your money and got no idea what so ever on treating people!

I have suffered with the skin condition, Psoriasis for well over 30 years, which has gradually over time has become worse, and embarrassing, Professor Gin has now helped me to be able to live a normal life, psoriasis, itch and embarrassment free life, but I still have a regular check up to ensure all is going well.
I can not thank Professor Gin and his team at Mulgrave & Berwick rooms enough for all their kindness, help and understanding.

Initial telephone conversation with arrogant female receptionist was enough to tell me to check the reviews.guess what my suspicion was correct. Just a spoilt Melbournian doctor raking in huge dollars. I have to wait till February itching and scratching from November. Oh you send pic to my email. I didnt have pen, so you ring back! I have to ring her back geeze is their any customer service? I bet it will be pay up front before I see him as well another little legacy these charlatans do. Stand by for the update when I finally see the charmer!

Yes he is abrupt and very direct, however my daughter as a baby was covered in eczema along with my nephew and friends children and myself, instead of heaps of creams and bandages he recommended light treatment back then and we have never had it again after 3 months of treatment.these children had bleeding near there eyes creases etc and he fixed it all.best dermatologist I know, he also helped my dad in earlier years when he was diagnosed with a rare disease prophyria

I waited 1 1/2 hrs to see this doctor. He asked me a series of questions and was so condescending and rude. PLEASE DO NOT SEE THIS DERMATOLOGIST, HE IS A WASTE OF TIME. RUDE RUDE RUDE. NOT A PEOPLE PERSON AT ALL AND NOT HELPFUL

The only reason I see this doctor is to get a certain type of medication I can't get from my doctor. I'm in and out of the consultation in 5 minutes and charged a lot of money. I'm sure he knows his stuff but I always feel rushed and feel I'm inconveniencing him. There is one particular receptionist who is abrupt and not at all welcoming (Mulgrave). She should look for a job where you don't have to deal with people.

After seeing 2 podiatrist FOR OVER 5 YEARS and spending over $8000 on so called laser treatments on my feet, got NO results whatsoever was then told to see a dermatologist. Had (1) consultation with Dr Gin and only cost me $300 including medications, everything was resolved within 3 months.
THIS PROFESSOR DEFFINATELY KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING.
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5 STARS ALL THE WAY.
Straight to the point and got the job done.

Dr Douglas Gin is very rude and it was unwarranted rudeness too. He wanted to know whether there was any related childhood sickness in my son's persistent skin problem and when I told the doctor of a skin affliction he had when he was very young, he told me to shut up if I don't know anything. Those were the exact words he used. Why ask me then if you don't want to know? And if its not related, just say so and not be so rude. I thought all doctors are supposed to swear to Hippocrates' Oath to try their best to make a sick person feel better. Not only is my son's condition still uncured, I required healing myself after this very unpleasant encounter. Waste of our money, time, effort and counter-productive! Plenty of other doctors to choose from, you don't have to put up with this kind of treatment.

My consult was an absolute joke. Not only was Dr. Gin unfriendly, and unkind, he didn't listen to me at all. He tried to give me a prescription, and told me if the chemist didn't have it, to make sure they don't call him. He bashed other doctors, when I mentioned I was seeking a consultation elsewhere. By far the worst doctor/patient experience I've ever had in my life, and a total waste of $250. I wouldn't send an enemy to this practice. Read the reviews before you go, I wish I had!

Dr Gin was good but my visit was negatively impacted afterwards. I was prescribed a comprehensive collections of ointments, creams etc and told to go to a compounding chemist and buy the lot. Better advice would have been to try this or that, and if no improvement try the next. I ended up spending $200 at the chemist on a raft of stuff I'll never use.

Giving Dr Gin a five-star review is under-rated.
I had seemingly had an allergic rash on my face four weeks ago and thinking that it was an allergy, I took some anti-histamine but it didn't get the issue resolved. Over the span of 4 weeks, I saw three doctors but the condition did not improve but deteriorated to acute inflammation resulting in swelling and intense soreness on my face. Dr Gin accurately diagnosed the source within a 45-minute consultation. He was very thorough, competent and highly proficient at his job. Within two days, the condition had shown marked improvement and it completely healed in three days. Thank you so very, very much Dr Gin for your competence and expertise in helping me with my distressing condition.

Honestly, Dr. Douglas Gin didn't do much to solve my skin problems and instead made me question his credibility. After two consultations, I was prescribed antibiotics paired with cream which managed to reduce my acne, however the results were minimal. What made me conclude that he is not worth visiting is that I have completely stopped the prescribed medication and instead substituted it with a simple skin routine which has given the same results. Further, he told me not to use a moisturizer as it would 'clog my pores' and that my acne would continue till late 20s as my mother suffered from it.

I would consider the severity of my acne to be moderate to high but I have seen people far worse than me, that have visited other dermatologists and achieved clear skin with both parents having history of severe acne. None of my siblings suffer from acne and pinpointing my acne to 'genetics', honestly feels like the doctor doing a half-arsed job when paired with consultations being not even 10 minutes. Do not waste your time and money.
