Arts Access Victoria reviews
5They are the best arts organisation I've ever had to deal with their un pretentious that open their friendly and their deputy CEO and general manager Nikki's zerella is just so dynamic and the CEO Carolyn there's a really intelligent charming woman
A very powerful and influential organisation that actually care about their clients:) they have a great big passion for artists with disabilities amd they always consider everything in needs for each client. They take the time to talk to u about ur art plans and dedicate time to meet and be involved in some way in ur projects and support you. We are very blessed with AAV. They have the best grant writing support people who help u with grants and they organised an exhibition for me to welcome me back into Melbourne after I relocated back here from 18 years away in SA.
Very helpful and friendly staff plus fully accessible with a variety of services and supports available for disabled, deaf and people with mental health issues involved in all aspects of the arts as well as organisations wanting advice on accesbility.
I was part of a Pathways Program for professional artists with disability. We were mentored by the incredible Caroline Bowditch from Scotland, and over six weeks I dug deep into my artistic practice and was challenged to really grow as an artist. To be taken seriously as a creator and also have acknowledged and supported the setbacks of disability was phenomenal. The inclusiveness sector can be fraught with difficult personalities, and artists, I must say, we can't be a cake walk either, so to bring together such a diverse collection of both and manage a program like I took part in must be applauded.
I hope they continue their focus on developing professional paths for artists, and I gotta say, their website is one of the most beautiful pieces of accessibility I've ever seen.
